Necessary information. I have been lookin for this nuts and bolts type of message. Thanks.
Glad it helped! Reach out if you have any other questions!
Hey Bill , great video . I’m looking into moving to SC from Pa in the future as we been visiting for many years for my girls Cheer Nationals . I have some family in the state and I’m looking into Greenville . Thank you so much for the info!
You’re welcome! If there’s anything I can do to help please don’t hesitate to reach out.
I'm getting out of PA now !!! 😲
I’ve been searching for the past few years in the Myrtle Beach/Conway area, and the one big thing you cannot get in South Carolina is a home one a little bit of property. Being retired, I just don’t want to be 10 feet from neighbors. I’m looking for peace and quiet, but still nearby to entertainment, restaurants, libraries, shopping. Houses with 1/2 acre and up just don’t seem to exist.
You should check around Loris or Green Sea for bigger lots. Those are about 35 +/- minutes from the beaches and Hwy 9 is a straight shot. You have broaden your search a little more. You won’t find a decent lot near anything in Myrtle Beach at a good price right now. They’re building houses on top of houses. That’s how all of these coastal areas are getting, the cities anyway..
In virtually every hot market, suburbia or surrounding towns is your solution, and even then it will be difficult.
Talk to me, I purchased a farm in Conway with 24 acres.... best move I made to leave NJ
Good video per norm🙃🙂
Thank you!
Ocean, mountains, lakes or country - So Carolina is an ideal place to retitr.
I agree!
The additional sales tax rate on food consumed on premises is determined by each county. Its not a blanket 11% rate across SC. Its lower here in York Cty.
Good catch! I’m so use to it here in Charleston it’s natural to talk about it.
What about healthcare waise...or home care programs or apartments discounts like section 8...? Do you have all that in case moving? Thanks!
In Arizona, I pay $ 650 a year for home owner’s insurance, got a quote for a possible home in Summerville for 1,450.00. Car tax, my car in Arizona, $350, SC, Same car will be $760. Your electrical costs per KWH is higher too.
So let’s say you’re interested in the beaches and dirt bike trails. Is Francis Marion NF anywhere near the beach? Are there any other dirt bike trails near the beach?
I’m not 100% sure about dirt bike trails. Francis Marion is within an hour and a half from the coast.
State sales tax is 6% and where I live in York County they add another 1%. It is not 9%. I never paid any attention to any extra taxes when eating out.
Any new developments around Charleston?. Don’t need anything too large.
Thanks ...anyone who knows pls. Answer.
There are a bunch. What are you looking for?
What are the safest places to live in?
Another state
Can you name some small towns that are little slower pace than Charleston. We are wanting to move near our son in Summerville, but don't want to pay an arm and leg for a home. Looking for a home not in a subdivision with HOA fees. Ranch with garage. Any suggestions where to start?
How far is too far from Summerville? Orangeburg is slower paced and not too far.
Look into the Dorchester, Lebanon, St. George, Ridgeville & Monks Corner areas. Some of the nicest homes you’ll find on the roads leading to and in between these areas which are somewhat rural.
Another state
Can anybody give me any information on Conway South Carolina we are thinking about that small area to retire in any thoughts
Bugs, mosquities, gators, palmetto bugs, humidity, hurricanes. Just to name a few oh and crazy drivers everywhere. Ughh
SC is the best move you will ever make. Good post!
You need a ring light.
My old office didn’t have any windows. My new on has more natural light. I’ve upgraded for future videos to new lights too. In regards to a ring light, since I wear glasses you would see a terrible reflection of the ring light.
Property taxes are reasonable on your personal residence, unless you have another home here in South Carolina or another state. Then you pay thousands more. When my Dad died, the tax on his residence was $600 per year. It jumped to $5,000 and no one was living there. Also property tax on vehicles can be in the thousands too. SC property tax laws are ridiculous.
Yes to retire outskirts

I don’t think I understand. What’s a shosls?
I wouldn't get out of the electric chair to live there
Very RED State.
@@JillKirchnerseems many affordable states are very red! I am no liberal but even as a moderate Republican, not sure I will fit in when making friends.
Why do you all want to come here? It used to be such a nice quiet town
Why are restaurant taxes so extraordinarily high?
Getting your notes together before you start talking out of your head instead of what you tile it to be.
One disadvantage: czcams.com/video/5fW5MhWOG9Q/video.html
What about renting a house until you build ? 😁
No mention of HOAs
What would you like to know about them?
Way too hot
