Saw you guys earlier in Waikiki shooting today. I came with my wife & kids and we were driving to the mall and saw you guys in an open grassy area and I was like wait I seen them before. I started watching you guys few months ago when we planned for the whole family to come out and I was trying to see what good local food is out here. My wife is originally from here and came to have the kids meet the family for the first time. It was so good to see you guys in action and thank you for the many videos!!!

Wow, what a great episode! I see Sun noodles all the time in the supermarket, but had no idea they supplied so many local businesses! And now they have a factory in the Netherlands?? Unbelievable! They have every reason to be proud of their company. And now I'm so ono for some ramen....I better go pick up some Sun noodles. 😋
My parents left Waikiki for Japan around late 77-78. Crazy to see this opened after their departure but it also feels ancient haha
Mahalo for featuring Sun Noodle. Hands down, my favorite noodles. Wish the stores in the SF Bay Area had the selections that you featured. Side note, way before I knew who Sun Noodle was, I was buying their Okinawan soba noodles from Marukai up here. This was before Marukai started carrying the tonkotsu and tan tan from Sun.

Your videos have helped me so much with finding great affordable food on our trip-some of the best food I've ever had. I haven't seen you cover this place yet, but we had Korean tacos at 342 Lewers St last night and they were unlike anything I've ever had before-soft corn tortillas, flavorful Korean beef, tomatillo salsa and topped with kimchi. We're only here a few more days, but I will absolutely be going back there for more!

At my ramen shop, we have been using sun noodles since we've opened! top notch locally made goods.

My favorite is their tonkatsu ramen. What I always wanted to know is why the tonkatsu ramen is a different noodle from the other ramen packs they sell. I also love to get their tonkatsu soup packs, it goes well with a lot of other types of noodle, especially those NongShim instant ramyun also.
I LOVED this episode! Probably in my top 5! Much mahalos for all ur hard work❤ I really want to try the mazemen, sweet and sour and the hiyashi chuka with the yuzu. Sounds so ono and something quick to make after work. Yum!

Great episode in your Made in Hawaiʻi Series! We got to see how the noodles are made and how to prepare and eat them, too! Iʻve never had the newer mazemen, tsukemen, or tanmen, and Iʻd like to try them because they look really good. Itʻs so nice to feature local "family-run" busineses, but you can tell Sun Noodle still has that close connection to itʻs Japan roots with their attention to detail and quality ingredients and products, as well as the latest technology in production. Itʻs not really a "small business" anymore, but they still appear to keep that family pride and close feeling among their workers. They should thank you -- this was a good commercial for them to showcase their traditional and new products!

Thank you for doing this video! Sun Noodle makes the very best noodles in Hawaii! I have one comment to make about eating their noodles at any of the restaurants that they supply is that if the noodle dish is not up to par do not blame the noodles. Sometimes the restaurant doesn't prepare the Sun Noodle product properly (pasta cooker not at proper temperature, left too long in boiling water, etc.). This is a reflection of the restaurant and not the product that they use. Sun Noodles are the best!

Chilled cold broth ramen-saimin is totally unreal good. There's a Korean one.
I've had the Korean one made for me by family.
The chilled cold soup broth is clear style.
Eaten with kimchee.
3 or 4 kinds of different kimchees.
We love cold noodles too! 🤤

Not yet but hopefully one day!
Maybe you can suggest to Sun (excellent company, btw), that they develop a line of frozen Ramen/Saimin/ toppings, the fishcake, green onions, char siu, goma, luncheon meat or ham ...whatever. That is our number one issue when we buy.
That would make a complete hassle free meal! 👍

I don’t believe there’s a store at the factory but they’re in all the grocery stores and super markets in Hawaii!
Do they make soy-free noodles? It's really hard to find good ramen or saimin noodles without soy.
i have one of them in my freezer! I keep forgetting about them mostly because it intemadates me and scares me.... I dont know how to make them with out boiling a kettle.... And Maruichi! (i think she said that but iḿ not sure)
