    The UK roads are a complete joke only suitable repairs are for those in cars, they never think about bikers yet they do make up a large percent of road users. That would of been really nasty a few seconds before when cars were on the op side of the road. Glad he's ok and the bike is on the mend.

    Unfortunately, local councils around the country have let the roads get into such a state that the majority of B roads are not safe for motorbikes or bicycles.
    I can't understand why I still have to pay any road tax if the roads are not fit for purpose?
    It's suicidal to take the bike out at night on any road that isn't fully lit.
    The council will just say they don't have a duty to ensure that the roads are in a state of good repair.

    Not a pothole its those long crevasses where the tarmac banks up one side. On wider tyres you notice it but doesnt affect that much. Thinner tyres go right down them.... bummer

    Did you go back and photograph the pothole? He definitely has a claim against the council. You also have video footage to back it up. Any damage to the bike and his riding gear ca be claimed for. But you need to know exactly where the pothole is and photograph it preferable with something to give it scale (coke can etc)

      This is not meant to be personal just my observations and I hope he is back on the road soon. The rider demonstrated poor observation skills and was distracted so did not see the uneven surface. He may have seen it late as he seemed to look in his right hand mirror yet as the riders were in staggered formated there was really no where to go which was safe. Having only one hand on the handle bars and contacting the uneven surface the bike gained air, the front was light as well as lossing his footing so his contact with the bike was minimal yet mostly on one side. He probably tried to correct it yet it ended going full lock, he was unable to control the bike and it threw him off. Yes you could blame the surface, but we need to avoid obsticles if possible and learn from mistakes.

    1. He was riding with one-hand, see it a lot with the millenials, they think they look cool, imitating pro' riders on the slow down after a race.
    2. Inexperienced; rider on the inside of the lane instead of being in the middle. This is because they were riding abreast often so they could chat (distracting each other). The rider videoing was waving his arm around - "oh look the sea, I want to go swimming" - one handed riding again; with potential hazards all over the place. Of course, the biggest hazard was themselves to other road users.
    3. Seems everyone in the country is aware of the state 0f the roads, it's not an excuse. You should be scanning the road ahead, not dicking around, expecting to have to take evasive action.
    And if you cannot read the word 'plough' and/or know what one is you'd be well-advised to spend some hours a week reading books. You can thank me in 20/30yrs time!

      @Kiwi-eu3qm Před měsícem +3

      1. Do you see people driving cars all the time with both hands on the steering wheel? No I don’t think so. He’s allowed to move his hand if it hurts,he’s not the other rider so don’t even.
      2. He is a VERY experienced rider. I even get on the back of that bike with a spine condition. He’s the only person I would trust with my life because he’s a sensible rider compared to most. He even will admit he is slightly on the inside, again normally wouldn’t be. AT ALL. Other video will prove that if you bother to look.
      3. You seem to know everything don’t you? Maybe instead of reading all the books being on the road is actually more of an experience which again, he’s not fucking about on the road. You are just taking someone else’s point of view and assuming he’s doing the same.
      Thank god he’s ok right? Not that you was concerned. Otherwise have a lovely day. 😊

    • @Drobium77
      @Drobium77 Před měsícem +2

      Erm, 1. How do you open your visor on the move if you cannot release one hand?
      2. The roads should be good enough to be able to ride in any position, without the danger of death due to badly maintained road surfaces, and pot holes are everywhere, especially on islands.
      3. we've all done the "why is that pronounced 'ruff' when it's spelt 'rough' , thing , it's not exactly anything to be shamed of.
      4. I think you are being rather harsh on the poor bloke. Falling off is a part of riding and we always used to say 20 years ago "you're not a real biker till you've come off three times".
