It’s great to see you back. You mentioned you were freezing cold sleeping in your bunk.
You need to look into Green APO. I absolutely love mine! Yeah they’re a little expensive but it will saved you so much on fuel. You won’t have to idle and it will heat your bunk also air-conditioning and it will charge and maintain your batteries when you’re not using your truck and if you ever have your batteries go dead you can start it first and use it to boost the batteries on your truck.
The best part about the APU is you can get parts for them pretty much at any parts store in North America as it runs on a little Kubota diesel engine. Anyways just a thought as I love mine so I thought I’d share this with you. Stay safe and again great to see you back best of luck with the new critical shipment position.

Or you can use a different brand like HP2000 or whatever if you want, but they are probably the best bang for your buck. Whichever you choose, it will pay for itself in a few months or your first year (depending on your job type) just on fuel alone. Especially with current prices. I mean we're talking like 9 to 15k roundabouts? Think about that for a sec. Enormous fuel savings overnights, no brainer if that is your common trip.

The more you idle leader in his life the more you will suffer with DEF issues. The filter will need to be changed more often and they are quite expensive. Not to mention the wear and tear and all the other parts in the waste and fuel which we know are being hosed on. 10 grand for an APU will pay for itself in approximately two years.

UPS needs some competition I suppose. FED EX screws up many Deliveries to my shop. I ordered some tiny Rubber Bumpers for my Motorcycle Luggage. They shipped from NC to SC to OH to Detroit MI I am near Kalamazoo MI , Then they shipped the package to Portland OR Incidentally I called Portland OR to order the parts. I needed 2 I ordered 6 rubber bumpers as the shipping cost more than the parts did . Now I have 4 spares.
After waiting over 2 weeks for these tiny parts I called GIVI USA again, I talked to some one very rude and I asked how it could take two weeks . He promised me I would have them in Two Days. We spoke of making some kind of a wager if I would ever get them. He didn't tell me that the tracking told them they had gone from Portland to Chicago .. Which is 3 hours from Kalamazoo.
Then I ordered Yellowstone Season 3 on DVD.. I have two UPS/FED EX large mail boxes in my Driveway . They backed the truck into my driveway in the snow up to make gate and threw the white package in the snow near the gate. I got a text my package was delivered. In the Bright Sun I never even saw the white package that had melted flush with the snow. I looked in both UPS boxes were empty. I went out a second time and found the package finally before it got ran over by a car or truck.
Driving OTR Summer of 2020.. I saw about as many Fed EX trucks on the side of the road with hoods up as any Trucking CO out there. These were mostly Day Cabs pulling short Doubles.

Hey Shelby! I was so happy to see another video by you! You were one of the people who inspired me to get my CDL, which I did in December, and I'm also documenting my own adventures (or misadventures lol) here on CZcams -- which you ALSO inspired me to do!! I thank you so much ... I emailed you a couple times and you were kind enough to email me back, which impressed me because I can only imagine how busy you are! I still am interested in trying to work for you someday (especially seeing the beautiful places where you're driving!), so I'm working on building a solid and safe first year. THANK YOU for helping me feel motivated to go for it, I'm so glad I did!!💪❤

Did you ever consider removing the cover and taking out the bulb? Taping it won't stop it from drawing power, plus eventually the heat from the bulb would make the tape dry out and fall off

It could also be the change of weather, pollen and temperatures. Stay safe and keep the shiny side up.
Is the tractor 5th wheel moveable? If you slide that 5th wheel closer to the cab, you’ll get better fuel mileage, better turning radius and helps with weight distribution.

With how far back it is, it will also help with steering/stability with that weight so far back.

I had a 2021 Cascadia that had the exact same spastic dome light issue start out of the blue. Absolutely nothing I tried could stop it. I ended up duct-taping the crap out of it. About 10 mins after I was done doing that and driving down the road, it just stopped. Never did it again. Freightliner gremlins! Oh, and I agree about the big curtain tie-backs. Way too short! Glad to see you're doing well! 😎

    Hey Shelby
    Good to see you back
You probably wont remember but, I am new to trucking and asked you about beginner friendly company's.
Well I got a job and have been out on the road for the past couple months now. Learning all sorts of new things. Looks like we have been driving the same roads. I just went thru all that snow a week or two ago in Washington and Oregon.
Good to see you back and becareful out there.

Shelby, it's really Great to see you again, so glad🖖. I was kinda worried tbh. Thanks for the update, looking forward to more video's. It's prudent to look after your gear, and then it will always look after you. The dome light thing was really mysterious👀👽?😝. I'm sure the 'duck tape' will come in handy, my philosophy is there must be a reason for 'everything', at least that's what I think😜. About your 'headache'? For me at least it happens when I eat something my body does not agree with. Think back what you ate before the headache, just a suggestion K 🙏. Ok for a trailer name suggestion, I did some searching, but nothing jumped out at me. So I'm going to just suggest a Hungarian word 'To Drag" which is 'Huzni' pronounced 'Whos-knee' or simply LOL 'The Hoozer' 🤷‍♂🤣. Maybe someone will find a better name you like for your new trailer. Cheers Blessings👏👍.

    Shelby!
    Nice to see you back.
I had the same light problem on a Cascadia I was driving… I traced it to the the upper bunk not being fully latched. Try lowering it and slamming it up into the latches.
I apologize if you’ve already received and/or tried this, I didn’t read all the comments.
Good luck. Hope it works for you. 🤞
