Her driving is certainly impressive. They're not amazingly difficult to handle, but it takes skill to make it look as easy as she does. Especially with a manual gearbox. I drive a manual car, but generally hate manual trucks.

You truckers should do 20 repetition breathing squats once a week and you'll find lifting and loading to be a lot easier. Try to add 5 lbs a week. It will strengthen your lower back, glutes and quads, as well as other muscles and will go a long way at preventing lifting injuries.

In real life, trucking over here is a dying industry, as people from low income countries like Romania and Poland are prepared to drive 60+ hours straight for minimum wage. So unless you have good contacts and get into an area unaffected by these people (tramping, hazardous goods haulage, car haulage) it is simply uneconomical to drive HGVs.

Far too many people seem to think that drivers are these magical beings that can go for hours on end without pause, and that even more magically we're able to get out of the vehicle and move around without issue. Only reason it seems that way is because we take regularly scheduled breaks! :P

Back in college, I drove public transit buses on campus part-time. It felt like easy mode because the college bus system didn't charge its riders and kept the drivers on pretty open streets. But it gave me a whole new appreciation for truck drivers that had to drive all over. Seeing some of the back roads Kana might have to drive is a whole other on top of that! That's really top-class drivng!

It’s always nice seeing a trucker who isn’t a country bumpkin man and extremely oversized. Im a Trucker and you see the same person 80% of the time at the gas stations all over the United States

This video is a perfect example of why JAPAN is the best country on Earth.
Great job on the video, Norm! 😇🙏🏼

It’s weird how many jobs that otherwise in other countries seem stressful and a bit grim but doing them in Japan has a totally different feel. I’d love a job like this in Japan. I was born in the wrong country 😭 Even something like going round filling vending machines in the countryside would be a dream.

I think it has mostly to do with their work culture, Japan is very different from what we have in the west (nowadays). I have a feeling that they rather have very long workdays than something stressful, less priority on your spare time and so on. Read many times that they are quite inefficient, but have a strong sense of "duty", not sure how accurate that is in reality.
Here in Sweden, work used to be the religion as well, but most younger people only see jobs as a way to pay for your living and nothing else. Nothing wrong with that, but has also made people more accepting of quitting a job (rather than gathering up to create strong unions), and the employers abusing short contracts because they know there are people lined up and so on.

Where do you live? I thought truck driving was a loved profession pretty much anywhere, for people who enjoy driving, and being solo/independent anyway, like Kana.

Trust me you do not want to work in Japan, idk about trucking but stuff like IT and regular salaryman jobs turn u into a literal souless husk. Pair that with the work ethics they have there it is hell compared to Western work life. I dipped after 5 years of working in a Japanese tele company to join a Australian/Singaporean Software company.

@@kishor5389Japanese people traditionally have this tendency to choose emotionally rewarding jobs with professionalism and craftsmanship-like perfectionism, rather than jobs with better salaries and working conditions, so it’s no wonder that foreigners who consider work and life as separate rather than work being a part of life think working culture in Japan is like torture. Many foreigners put a lot of emphasis on objective, measurable aspects of work (I’m not diminishing their importance though. I’m just saying relatively speaking it is the case.) . Japanese people have a strong sense of social obligation too. You can receive a good service because somebody else is offering a good service for you, so many Japanese people feel kind of “obliged” to do the same, while many foreigners just think “it’s a good deal” and that’s all. That’s why services in Japan are good and at the same time jobs in Japan are demanding. They are the different sides of the same coin.
