Vanguard deserved it. They last time they won a title was 1999 ..
Peyton Cash They last won a the title in 1989 (Phantom of the Opera), they tied and shared that title in 1999 with the Blue Devils.

I don't think the amount of time since winning a title is a good measure of how much a team deserves to win lol
I know it reads that way, but I think he was merely stating that A) SCV deserved the win and that B) they just happened to last have a title in '99
Santa Clara Vanguard deserved that Gold!! They worked so hard to clean it and performed even harder! I love all of the members of every single Drum Corp out there! You are all part of something truly amazing!!

It went the same way in 2014, BD won everything except percussion which went to Vanguard

Super proud of the mandarins! WAY to go boston, blue knights, bluecoats. WOW! Expected a better finish from Carolina crown but the Santa Clara Vanguard was superb! Unbeatable performance! So impressed with the top 12 corps this season!!! They all took it up a level from semifinals and left it ALL on the field for finals!
Truly the major leaguers of moving music!! Well done all!

Heck yeah Vanguard great season for a lot of the corps, but some of the uniforms were very iffy, like half of them went to all spandex uniforms from the traditional ones.

Do you know da wae I really wished they placed higher cause the auditions were super competitive and showed a ton of promise, at least they made finals.
I was honestly expecting them to break into top 8 with how well their early season went, but they peaked SO early after the first few weeks.

I love the blue coats,but the show for a second year,doesnt fit that band.i would suggest,pat Williams,on the sixth day,and threshold,by Pat Williams,its been done,wirh a score of,99,yes I have a background in music education,and have those scores,if the blue coats want to get out of third again,and win

for those of us who are old school this isn't DCI anymore. I hate where this has gone. Only a matter of time before DCI is a marching band contest, and all vestiges of of what made drum corps are gone.

Sorry, but Drum Corp has NEVER been a marching band contest, They were, and are two separate entities. Just because a squirrel can fly, does that make it a bird? There is something strong, powerful, majestic, when only "Brass" is used and that is what separates the two. If you want to listen to a band, go to a halftime show at a football game.
