I think it kills the story. He went out like a boss. It was closure, it was amazing. I hatted that they killed his character, but they made that bed. Now... if they can come up with a good story *which I dont trust Disney to do* then I think it would be amazing.

Maybe you just watch avengers for the sake of story but I watch it for the characters. this is fiction, people watch fiction to escape reality. fiction should be what pleases you not what seems realistic etc. that's the main point of fiction.
I think it's cool if they come back as Varient of themselves but I would hope they did other varients and versions. Once Secret Wars is over let them rest they had a amazing run.
I don't like it because it feels like a desperate move to try and gain favor back with the public. Like instead of addressing their current issues Marvel is going "look over here it's all the characters you love back again".

I don't understand why Disney flopped so hard on moving on from OG characters like from starwars and now marvel.....
They failed in introducing new and younger characters with good stories so are falling back on what was successfully and popular.
That's going to bite them in the ass, they have so many good stories to use and play on they didn't and don't need to fall back on nostalgia and old characters that they've essentially killed off.

Your actors in movies and real life age and it just doesn't work unless you recast......and even then that only works for certain characters. Recasting iron man will not work so leave him dead, move on.

I think it'd be a fitting way to end this universe by having Avengers: Secret Wars have the original team. Though I don't know if they'll have them in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. With the exception of Kang Dynasty that means you'd have Iron Man in every Avengers movie.

To me its like with every character in movie-franchises. If they want to keep a character, dont kill the character. Same with SUPERMAN in the second(!) movie of the cinematic universe. Yes. They did it very often in comics too. And I hate it there too. Killing a character in these franchises means nothing anymore.
This is how I feel about people saying they don't want Dr. Doom for Secret Wars. Like come on, he is way more interesting than Kang and we've been anticipating him for far longer.

Truth is I'm one of those fans who was never really satisfied with the outcome of Endgame and where the Infinity Saga left things for the MCU, and having to kill off Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man was one of the reasons why. He was why a lot of us first got into the MCU to begin with since his first movie was where it all started, and I can only say for myself that I wouldn't have signed on with these movies from the start with the idea of wanting to eventually see him be written out of the picture entirely, even in heroic sacrifice, with seemingly no chance of ever returning. And not just cause of how much we've enjoyed RDJ in the role, but also just the idea of writing out the character of Iron Man in general.
But now we're moving into a new saga of the MCU that's only breaking the limits of Phases 1-3 by opening up the concepts of the multiverse, timelines, and other variants of existing characters, meaning that basically anything could be possible to see right now and anyone could possibly be brought back again. Even Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man. From what I've been understanding they're wanting to do a soft reboot of the main MCU universe anyway after everything that happens in Secret Wars, where they wouldn't be having all the same characters as before going forward.
So even if I still feel like there are all sorts of other ways they could have gone with Infinity War/Endgame, by this point I think I'd be left more satisfied seeing RDJ's Iron Man brought back to help save the multiverse even if that were the final sendoff for his portrayal of the character, along with Fox's X-Men and Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man. More than I would be if we were still just left with the ending of Endgame, and a single concrete timeline that would have had to have gone on without a Tony Stark/Iron Man in it.
The moment he steps on the screen that crowd is gonna go apeshit. We all miss him and cap so much.

Because it devalues all the story thy had previously each one had a meaningful send off what you don’t get is in storytelling character deaths show impact and real lasting effects and can open new stories bringing them bsck is nothing more than just pandering fan service
@@javongarnett41 They were given those "send offs" just so they could send off their actors like RDJ, not cause these iconic Marvel characters should ever have to be sent off in terms of writing them completely out of the MCU's story going forward.
And after recent stuff like No Way Home and Loki any of those send offs they did in Endgame are ultimately going to be irrelevant anyway so long as variants of those same characters exist.
There are SO many good characters still in the MCU that aren’t offed. The issue is poor writing/directing. That’s what made phases 1-3 so good. Not every movie in those phases are good, but they were all (mostly) interconnected and shared a similar timeline and story and all came together for a big Colab. Secret wars is fine and whatnot but when your movies for your characters don’t interconnect it’ll be hard to get them all in one place in Secret Wars to become the Avengers once again. We don’t need legacy characters coming back, we need a clear path to Secret Wars with movies connecting to each other, as well as good writing and directing. TAKE RISKS

I don’t see the issue. We know there are billions of Tony Starks out there thanks to the multiverse. RDJ could come back as a variant who understands the multiverse and is assembling a multiversal team (kinda like Miguel). Our Tony that we are familiar with still died to save his universe and his sacrifice would not be any less valid. He never got the chance to learn about the multiverse and get to that position, that’s where this Tony from another universe comes in. This Tony would be way more powerful and knowledgeable about everything and the threats to the multiverse. He may even be aware of his variant’s sacrifice and maybe he knows that most of his variants die that way, and he’s the only one to make it past that point and that’s why he’s leading the charge against Kang or Doom or whoever the villain is.

I don't think they're capable of writing an exciting enough story to be worthy of their OG characters ( as in something that could top the Infinity arc). I don't want another Kenobi or Ahsoka. Squeezing a character of all you cpuld think of is not the way. If it works in comics it doesn't mean it will work on film. I can't see them rebooting the movies as one would a comic series. I'd love it if they focused on the X Men or Fantastic Four and get them right this time. Really build up something new and exciting.

Comic books have DECADES of ongoing stories so it's natural for characters to die and come back a few years later. Arcs work differently on paper. Movies are different, movies should be more consequential. Actors won't be around forever like the characters they portray. Iron Man's death should've been it for this version of the character. Don't let hype cloud your judgment, this is indeed a cash grab and nothing more

So many people in here acting like the MCU is regular movies. They're COMIC BOOK MOVIES!!!!! That means you do comic book things. One of the biggest being bringing popular characters back to fix fuckups. This is the exact same thing. They fucked up Phase 4 & the beginning of Phase 5. Time to fix it by bringing popular characters back. Just like in comics. Since we're talking about comic book movies.
Logan f***ing sucks and I'm sick of hearing how "perfect" it was. They wasted Wolverine for like 5 films, NOT EVEN INCLUDING Logan, and you think it's a proper send-off? You have to have a proper portrail to have a proper send-off. I love Hugh, he did the best he could with what they gave him, but we never got a Captain America Wolverine WW2 Period film, we never got him as a stand in Avenger, we never got Hulk vs Wolverine, etc. and he wasn't even Rated R until his last film. They did him dirty. He needs to be rebooted into the MCU.
End credit scene, you see Cap and Peggy on their front porch enjoying some tea, she gets up to go make more. Taxi pulls up, someone gets out. You see his lower half, duffle bag, jeans, boots, walking up. Cap looks up, smiles, and says something like "It's been awhile." Then you hear "How ya doin bub?" and then see Hugh, cuts to black, perfect. Personally how I think Endgame should've ended.

They never should’ve killed him off. The main characters should’ve just taken a position in the background.. as they showcase new characters. Have a new character have a seen where you see Captain America in the background on the TV news broadcast. Have Iron Man do a cameo in the armor. Have them mentioned in a newspaper headline.. do that for a few years, and then recast them. Do this fantastic.4 X-Men and blade. That way down the line you could have X-Men versus the avengers or avengers and fantastic 4 team up against Dr.Doom. Instead of pushing all these characters that nobody likes and nobody wants.. characters that failed in the comics like iron heart, Miss Marvel, America Chavez, and the actress Bree Larson playing captain Marvel.

It's the way the comics work. The originals die or get replaced but then they always come back.
My biggest worry. As someone who is ultimately fine either way because I’m a comic fan and I’m completely aware that these characters die and come back all the time.
I’m worried that people aren’t gonna be prepared for the MCU still being ass when and if those characters come back.
I’m worried that we’re going to be hit with the “omg this is so cool!” For the first two movies and then it’ll die and people won’t be satisfied because you cannot rekindle the magic that the first few phases had.
Things will ALWAYS be different after Thanos. It always was gonna be.
That doesn’t mean it can’t be good, but it would’ve always been different.
And one thing that for some reason I don’t see mentioned a lot (only by Comicstorian so far) is that even if we do get the OG Avengers back. That’ll be wonderful and cool… But the MCU will still be terrible if they don’t start appreciating what good writers and directors bring to the table. A writers strike is going on right now. And Disney has lost a lot of respect and faith with many of the off camera crew in these films.
We need Marvel to care just as much about good writers and A list directors as they do A list actors.
The 40% people are people aged 30-35 who were there when the first iron man came out and saw RDJ for 11 years to the put the extent they dont want to see him. But 60% are people aged like 15-20 who started watching the mcu from infinity war and still follow mcu to this day, those people have seen less of tony stark or any OG characters hence want to see more of them
Killing Tony Stark was the biggest mistake Marvel ever made. We all wanted to follow the OG Avengers after Endgame, not see them all fade away! Marvel’s output since has been pathetic. I feel a need to post at video addressing Kevin Feige directly with all my complaints.

Is bringing the OG cast back really gonna improve box office? I mean scar jo did technically return to the mcu after endgame and her movie wasnt really a hit (I would love if they come back btw)
it was bad timing for the movie. iirc, it was streamed, which is like 10-20 ppl watching the movie, plus re-streams, per sale. Since Scar Jo produced the movie out of her pocket, she didn't like the choice of streaming when the money is in the theatre. Disney/Marvel was trying to stay relevant/bring in money during the corona years.

if they come back ill watch it and probably love it, it just sucks that they have to do it at all, it just does feel a bit cheap. Same thing when they kill superman and bring him back in the next movie

I’m ok with them bringing him back for a cameo or bigger roll in an avengers movie. This is 100% a desperate move from marvel though. Marvel has made poor choices with character selection for this “Era” and now need to bring back an OJ to jump start this era. Good characters push plot/story and this era doesn’t have good developed character. Due mostly to poor writing or a shift away from quality writing.
RDJ & Black Widow Scarlett Jo might come back as variants in Secret Wars. Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart & Tobey Maguire said that they were retired doing superhero movies, but obviously they came back.
If it makes sense then I'm down. In comics noting really makes sense and anyone comes back. Not sure why so many people are so high brow about it happening in a comic book movie. I'm thinking they already gave away HOW he's coming back by this idea of the "chosen one" from each universe. I love Spidey but how is he the chosen one from 616? TVA works outside of time and if you look at the MCU 616 timeline its obvious that TONY is the chosen one. I bet that this is what they do and they pluck Tony right out of timeline and he's 616 actual chosen one. In fact, how is Peter the chosen one when nobody knows who he is due to Dr. Strange's spell?
I would love for him to come back. I just want it to be written well and for the mcu to be back in a good position before it happens...
Even though I am worried how they might handle Iron-Man going forward if/when he might return - I hope they put writers who know what they're doing adapting comics, as I've not been so sure lately. Even though I can see a bunch seeing it diminishes Tony's sacrifice, which I can see as a solid point. But, Tony was the leader of the MCU he brought people together, from the early Avengers movies when the team didn't get along well - to the point when Iron Man, Thor and Captain America were on the same mind to fight to their limit to protect which remains and worked well together. Sure give new characters a chance, give them spotlights - it doesn't mean that is a excuse to just toss away characters that built up the MCU and fought for it to still exist. Idk, maybe another bad take but Tony deserves a chance to come back like any character from deaths within comics, they do it a lot in the comics - but then again I'd rather a character age and grow like some do in the MCU rather than recast or aged down like it sometimes happens in comics, sometimes when I read comics I don't feel motivated when I think "Oh, I read this far - they'll reset it so the characters lost all the character developments - especially when they act like nothing happened" If they bring Tony back and acknowledge what he did and he continues to grow - I'll be happy with it. If they bring him back and he barely cares or everyone shrugs like it was just another day in the week - I will just think they put the wrong writer for it to happen like that.

There’s no better opportunity for them to come back than this multiverse storyline. Just bring them back as alternate versions. It doesn’t have to undo Endgame
