Caits have 4 HP.
Easily found in Whistling Cavern. - Hry
there's a place called "twin falls" which is a level 20 cave off south clearbrook pass, i didn't hit it when i first started the game because i was too low level but i just rediscovered it and i just got 2 caits and there's also a chest with the "psychic staff" which has +78 elm atk which is in a chest over to the right side of the cave.
there's also a boss (it gives you option to fight or wait till later) but you don't need to fight the boss to get the staff, but if you do fight the boss don't miss the hidden path to the right side of the boss area to get a chest w/ 5000 gold

Where is the maw of the ice dragon.
Try farming on Maw of the Ice Dragon, I once saw every Cait family in a single battle (yes, all three of them) and granted, it was a surprise fight and had some time to defeat the Chubby Cait after I've slain his two slimmer feline brethren but alas, it escaped. I tried to spare one enemy and kept using Bewildering Dance for the 5x experience but all I got was a 2x. Either way, it was a very fascinating encounter that I've had in that game.
the first time I ever fought a Cait. I was so confused because I finished a battle and got 1k exp and didn't know why so I researched it and found out which one. and it was by total randomness that I found one xD I was just exploring some place and defeating every monster I found. it was very early in the game too so I got a but load of levels
I get the idea they are more common between Atlasdam and Rippletide.
I just found a cat and I used the dancers skill and it gave me Exp 100x I got a 110,000 exp and my Olberic, Primrose, Tressa and Ophiia went from lvl 25 to 50 in this encounter it was so amazing o saved right away and happy as heck

@@MrSiddharth21 I haven't beat the stories all yet I've just been level grinding and currently I'm in the Maw of the ice dragon and have yet to encounter any Caits or hit even the x2 EXP lol luck is not on my side

When I was low level (about mid 20) I went to the marsalim catacombs with Tressa, Cyrus and Ophilia just to farm gold easily w/ Tressa's passive
Underleveled, I couldn't kill anything, but I must have had about a dozen chubby cait encounters in under an hour, both catacombs and Eastern marsalim sands. Now, level 40+, not one single damn cait...
Stack alluring ribbons and forbidden bow. That will also help a lot when in areas like this or Maw of Ice Dragon. Haven’t tried Maw of Ice Dragon yet, but I imagine it would work?
I think north or west s'warkii trail is better but it doesn't spawn as many than the whisling cavern but it does have a better spawning rate
I just got a jp x100 with a single cait, and I have never been happier with this game at that moment
I just got a JP x100 and hated it cos I kept wanting the exp x100 😂
For all OT playerd still to this day, there is a point where "cait farming" gets kind of useless becaude of the EXP count it gives. There are better places to grind in higher level places, for example the Maw of the Ice Dragon gives around 1k exp each fight, with both EXPboost (that one accessory and side skill of the warmaster)
A link to that how to beat Caits vid sure would have been nice.

I walked around the caves for 3 hours, I fleed from hundreds of fights, I found just one cait, who fled in the first round.

Its completely random.
You need to equip some support skills that allows you to attack first or not being surprised attack

Had 2 caits in a row in first 2 hrs of gameplay, but at the time I had no idea what they were and how to kill them. Would have made grinding Theon easier
Use a fire/ice/thunder/wind/ light or darkness major soulstone
Use bewildering grace
It's honestly kind of silly to run from them. You should be able to end those fights in a matter of seconds, so why not just do the fight & get the gains right quick? Sitting there running over & over is a very big waste of time & is gonna give you less gains in the long run, as you're going to be running a LOT trying to get Caits. They are just too rare for that strat to be worth it.
You could be farming some enemies that give decent gains instead, and when you get a Cait consider it a bonus. Maybe even try a few Bewildering Graces once you've defeated the Cait in order to try for an Exp Buff. That's going to be the most efficient way to grind.
All the strategies for killing chubby caits are just BS. I don’t know why they made them so damn hard to kill. I use M and L soul stones and they do not instantly kill them. 3 fire hits from my sorcerer won’t even one hit kill them. And if I do end up killing one, my magic ends up killing all the other small bosses so I don’t have time to use bewildering grace so I can get crazy more experience. It’s ridiculous! I even tried the summon method and it will not one shot kill Chubby cait. Same happened, I damaged it, then when I use my sorcerer to use fire the second time around, If I get lucky I’ll kill the cait with one enemy standing, but then the dumb summon will come out after that magic attack like a dumb ass and kill the last enemy before I can get off bewildering grace smh

The drop a lot of gold, XP, and JP. Good for farming levels.
Cait are completely useful when you are grinding XP but if you have a dancer in your class you could multiply the skills to 2,5,100

(is in the maw of the ice dragon (i didn't know if that the name but well) if you don't have a good level like 45 don't go here, here is the most probabiliti of have a cat who give you 2000 exp but i don't care and i try to capture him (all the times i failed))
There is no such thing as getting Cait's consistently. They show up when they want to & rarely at that. Running from battles trying to get a Cait is just a waste of time. You're better off killing those mobs while you're at it for the Exp/JP

going up against a group of 5 enemies doesn't give you higher chance to encounter a cait, just saying...
I mean it does since you’ll be facing more enemies per battle. The more enemies you face the higher chance one of those enemies is a cait.
