You've seen this battle SO many times but it's finally time that we sit down and watch what all the little background characters are doing including the gungans who fell asleep as well as the ones that brutally unalive their droids. Watching it at .25x speed reveals a lot more details than I was expecting. So, here's a compilation of all the different things I've found. Let's begin.

No I’m not
Star wars is cool you are cool
The gungan’s they don’t keep them in there pockets lol the shields they have are on There backs 1:32. that’s the Pk-Series Droid it’s on the command ship When nute gunray is talking with lord sidious.the droids in the hallway Walking by In the background
They need to make a maul movie and hopefully if this were to happen Disney would not screw it up
im not sure but i think you overlocked the scene where one of the Droidekas gets taken out by friendly fire
To be honest, this movie was the only one that made me believe the battle droids could actually win any engagement above robbing a 7/11...and that's being generous.
They would slip over on the way out by a leaking slushy machine
I kinda like the CW droids more also there’s a canonical reason why they’re so stupid in the CW
I can’t get the thought of 4-5 battle droids robbing a 7/11 with a super-battle waiting in a getaway car out of my head.
@@gabrielwarszawski9066 They should have sent the b2 in instead. way more intimidating.
@@tanith117 Agreed
13:20 me, knowing it’s the PK security droid, because of Lego Star Wars: *I am four parallel universes ahead of you*
Lego video game 😍 I remember!!
And if I'm not wrong, we can see them i the background on the command ship of the trade federation in a hallway, walking past a door (after one of the hologram scene with Gunray). 😉😁
Same XD
its a pk WORKER droid
Yes, lol
@Matthew Wong me too
My favourite character is boxing gungan.

Reasonable choice mate
Lol
mine is the one that disappears when a battle droid stabs through him
*Lowers Electrobinoculars, makes a signal to the tanks* "Open Fire!" - OOM-9, Episode I: The Phantom Menace
Always says it with him 👀
The Knights of the Old Republic trailers have some battle scenes that would be cool to see
The SWTOR Alderaan trailer is iconic, there's a lot of epic melee.
@@henrykkeszenowicz4664 or the one on coruscant, that one was chaotic as well
I cant wait to do these
I love the Battle of Naboo! The battle droids and the gungans they just cool looking designs great job on behalf of the art Department and Lucas is Direction. You can never forget to maker. he always has a hand in everything
Designers Doug Chiang (BattleDroids) Vs Iain McCaig (Gungans)
These little droids' main purpose is collecting scraps of Battle Droids, so they can be repaired and put back to service
They also appear in the LEGO game in the first mission of Phantom Menace xd
You forgot to mention that the names of the droids are PK droids
@@battledroidrd-7712 I did not remember how they were called, I'm glad you do ^^
@@xuruiyu i dont think they repair battledroids, they turn them into scrap metal for new droids
@@yarnickgoovaerts That might be the case, you're right
Probably depends on the amount of damage
@@xuruiyu I have heard somewhere that the trade federation, and especially the cis, dont repair damaged battle droids in fear of damaged programming/processors leading to the droids becoming self aware and/or going roque.
when i was a kid i always loved this battle it is so cool to see nature and machines fight
The little droids are salvage droids. They pick up all the pieces of destroyed battle droids and repair them.
They dont repair battledroids, they turn them into scrap metal for new ones
They’re really cool
PK Droids. That are extras in Lego Star Wars
@@yarnickgoovaerts They do both. The B1 battle droids are designed to come apart and snap back together easily. That's why their heads and limbs are always flying off. That's more cost effective than melting pieces down to build new droids from scratch.
@@ortoacademy1019 and i heard somewhere that the traitfederation was afraid of malfunctioning battledroids after they where damaged
The sticks the Gungans use to throw the energy balls are alled 'Atlatl' and are based on a real world weapon/tool of the same name which is/was used to throw spears with more force and increase range.
It's one of humanities oldest tools.
The long ones are Atlatls. The short ones are Cestas.
today we mainly use them to throw balls for our dogs
This really makes you appreciate how cool most of the gungans actually were in battle.
Ikr I love the Gungan who was beating the shit out of the battle droid with the throwing stick.
I would love to see the battle of Coruscant. I know it isn't a land battle like the videos you've made so far but I always remembered it as the most stunning battle visually in the prequel trilogy
Do Battle of Geonosis but the one scene where the clones attack, not the one with Jedi vs B1 droids
he did
@@enderwar206 No... That was the one with the JEDI
oh some reason on my screen only half the message appeared
ok... some reason only half showed for me
@Kenobi Edits hellyeah asked to do it you can just find original comment
2:27-2:30 actually yes. ancient hunters used similar weapons for arrows and spears. it is basically a stick you attack the arrow to and is used as an extension of their arm and leverage to send the arrow twice as far as a normal throw and twice as accurate. the bow was used to replace this method but here the gungans are doing the same principle to increase their range and throwing power without much effort.
It's called an "Atlatl"
challange: dont say "fell off his kadoo" for 1 minute
also challenge: dont say "how did I miss that??" thats the point of these videos. Watching them at slow mo to see what you missed lol
@@GeekCinemaLol.
I think those Gungan deaths are the same ones just from a different camera angle view because I have kinda noticed that in the other videos that you have done like this like with the Jedi Duel wielding doing the same move in the background during the Jedi Arena battle on Geonosis
aw damn i thought i was going to be the first to mention this lolm but your right. Also the idea why the guy diving and tackling the droids in the background was probably filmed from a close up angle but just cut out.
The small Droids are kind of like medics/scrapers. They are used to repair damaged Droids and to see what parts from destroyed driods are reusable.
Called specifically a PK worker droid
Such a great battle!!! It must of been so hard to do. Especially since it's half real and half cgi and it looks 100% photo-realistic.
Very good for its time
This was cool! Future battles ideas: Siege of Mandalore Clone Wars Battle, Battle over Coruscant, Battle on Scarif, Battle on Crait, Battle on Exegol
The Exegol battle would be very interesting. There are very much hidden details
@Kenobi Edits The Battle of Coruscant took place over, guess what, the planet of Coruscant!
The Battle of Crait is from The Last Jedi, and the Battle of Exegol is from The Rise of Skywalker.
@Kenobi Edits Sorry! I thought you didn't know the Battle of Coruscant.
The Last Jedi (Episode VIII) and The Rise of Skywalker (Episode IX) are from the Sequel Trilogy.
Christophsis or Kashyyyk
@Kenobi Edits I see, you are a man of culture.
13:12 I think those guys are PK Worker Droids
The new episode of the Bad Batch is Insane!
I agree.Havent seen crosshair in that much episodes
Thanks for the reminder
Guys cad bane tho is awsome the cowboy theme when he walks in is epic
Well you did click on the chat titled bad batch episode is insane, its kinda your fault common sence to not come on this chat
Thanks for realizing:)
This is my new favorite Star Wars CZcams series.
I’ve always had a soft spot for Gungans. I just love my hadrosaur frog bois.
I never noticed them using hand to hand combat on them before I found your channel! Super cool to see!
12:43 I watched the movie a million times on VHS when I was a kid. I always heard the sound effect of the tank hitting the droid, but I never knew what it was because of the 4:3 aspect ratio. It happened off-screen. Years later, when I got the DVD was the first time I saw what happened there. :D
One thing's for sure, they were clearly just learning how to create armies with CGI. I'm pretty sure that's why there are some gungans just standing around and the ones that droids walk through or disappear.
Also, you might try to look into the Battle of Endor. There were a lot of action with the ewoks, maybe there are some extra stuff happening in the background.
By the way, those little droids collecting scraps, we can see them almost at the beginning of the movie. When Gunray talks Sidious, and Sidious says Amidala is young and naive. A bunch of those droids are walking in the background. Must be some kind of maintenance.
I didn’t even think about that! Maybe that’s why I don’t remember it too much because I watched it in 4:3 as a kid
I really disliked how they underscored droids when I was a kid... I still do actually... I mean really... an army that can be produced in minutes, doesn't require training, can be recycled when defeated, and requires little to maintenance cost besides power... but the power of being a protagonist prevails.
Episode 1 made me like playing battle droids and the trade federation in games. I think the droids got dumber because they couldn't use the control ships in a full war, so they just loaded them with the cheapest AI they could find. I'm not sure how it was in the old EU but in the new one mentions that the droid army was winning the war. They just lost their military leaders. So had the shutdown signal not been sent out, the Separatists would've won.
@@mrmarvel9309 Most people I've seen do actual deep dives on the lore of the clone wars agree that the CIS would almost always win. Literally the only reason they didn't win is because palpatine didn't want them to win. If they weren't being actively limited by him and his plans, they'd stomp the republic.
Well because they were cheap like they lacked really good programing and mobility (hence they all cant be well programmed assassin droids), they still were expensive (mentioned by Dooku when Grievous punched a droid out of anger) to make and required a power source to be brought along to charge them. But also really, the "protagonist" really didnt prevail xD and in fact there were loads of time's that the clones got there asses handed to them. However they were upgraded to be better droids later on and be able to talk more.
@@L33T_Taco yeah but from a tactical standpoint, it is almost impossible to say that without palatines meddling that the republic would have won the war. Each B1 Unit cost about 2000 credits… which is quite a fair amount… yes… but to compare that to the price of a clone over his lifetime? Then it becomes a simple question, “how many droids can a clone kill before he is killed?”. You also forget that in a galaxy like starwars, power is not too much of a problem. And again, clones in the same scenario would require food, water, access to clean air, time to sleep, medical equipment, etc.
@@therewillbeguitar8078 also lets not forget that a droid doesnt have any armor or additional gear besides its weapon and everything can be standardized. In the meantime clones still need armor, clothes underneath the armor, shoes, training to keep in practice, different resources to stay alive (food, water and air), fhey can tire over extended engagements while a droid is "fresh" up until the last energy is pulled out of its source and morals arent a problem beyond self-preservation for efficiency ("I wont kill myself by standing still here while this tank comes at me")
Those sticks are called atlatls, and actually existed IRL for throwing spears with greater range, power, and accuracy.
Also, another detail I really like is that you can even see the gungans' grimacing in some shots.
3:44 is one of the coolest shots in all of Star Wars
Honestly so cool
I think it would be great for you to analyze the Battle Over Coruscant in Episode Three. I always enjoy your videos.
at 2:18, there is two gungans that seem to be the same clip copied and pasted, they do exactly the same movements but the one on the left is a little behind on the time
Well it's because the editor doesn't know what to do with that gungan so they got rid of it 9:18
I barely remember seeing any dead Gungans on the floor. I didn't know you actually could see that many die.
9:43
This gungan is surely and undoubtedly a forgotten mistake in the composition of the 3D scene, but the fact that he progressively turns his head towards the camera before disappearing is more than creepy 😱
2:04 I can’t unsee this now. You have literally blown my mind over something that should’ve been completely obvious.
I feel like there was probably a lot more detailed footage filmed and they just filmed a lot of these wide shots so they can cut back and forth from some more individual fighting. Alot of those animations/performances look so unique that they probably did have a scene filmed of someone performing that bit of the fight. They probably couldn't pace it well and just went with showcasing the battle just being hectic the whole time. Considering they were cutting back and forth to the Space battle, the palace fight, and the Lightsaber duel. If you watch the fight in the arena in Episode 2, this same thing happens here and if you notice like if a Jedi jumps and kicks a droid, the next shot may be a wide shot and in some part of the scene you can see the same Jedi you just watched kicking the droid but from a different angle.
If your actually genuinely curious as to why some of those Gungan's look weird or "inactive" is probably last minute they were thrown in with short basic animations to make them look "lively" just to fill in the scene. A lot of the Gungan's holding the droids and bashing the heads looked like repeated or looped animations they just reused on a few of the Gungan's as the scenes transitioned. Also i think those Bomb Bad Booma balls they throw are basically just Paintballs filled with pressurized electricity and plasma. That's why they could hold them in their hand, they had a shell. :)
I wish we had a look at the behind the scenes, I’m curious how much of it was fully animated and how much was MoCap
@@MichaelJaeYT yeah. Plus these fight scenes with the Gungans may have shown some scenes with more random people's encounters instead if just Jaja
Ayyyyy, I was waiting for this! Great work.
9:43 The gungan Apparition
Scarif or a Starfighter battle
Fun fact: the blue balls are actually plasma which was common in Naboo's core, which is why the Gungans had enough of it to be used as a weapon and why the human residents of Naboo were so wealthy as they originally used to mine and sell it but became more touristy
Finally this battle!
6:21 and 9:45, they (the visual producers) probably thought that no one would look that closely so they just didn't put in that much effort for the backround gungans
They must not have anticipated Michael Jae
13:09 those are pk droids. They’re just used by the trade federation for labor and such. I only know what they’re called cuz they were walking around in lego star wars tcs in the first level🤣
You don't know the fact that gungans are affected by a strange heart deficiency that cause cardiac insufficiency whenever a blaster bolt passed near them (because of the ionization of the blaster bolt). This disease is pretty rare and unique to gungans and was almost not studied before the Battle of Naboo. A treatment was later found, before The Clone Wars. This disease explains the otherwise unexplained deaths of gungans during the battle of Naboo.
YYYESSSSSS! Thank you for making this!
You should do the battle over courisant (if that's how you spell it) in the very beginning of revenge of the sith
Honestly this is a scene that could benefit from a remastered animation. Like it’s pretty good, especially for being a late 90s animation, but it’d look a lot smoother with a remaster.
I want to see a more brutal, longer battle with more close-ups of random soldiers
He just used a potato quality file of the video. It’s in 4K
5:15 this guy is just relatable
9:50 the only way that can be explained is that it was a force ghost coming to see the battle.
Those small droids were on the trade federation ship in the beginning of the movie, seen just walking past the door of the main control room with the nemodeains talking. I think that they were used to help with the reactor on the federation ship or broken battle droids
that gungan disappearing is a sith lord.
cOnFiRmEd
Suggestion for a new 0.25 video: maybe you could also watch some battles of LotR in slowmotion. For example the battle of helms deep or minas tirith are huge scenes with a hell of a lot going on
I would love to in the future! I need to watch them first
The one Clone trooper who straight up punches a battle Droid and hurts his hand can learn a thing or two from these gungans
Ok anyone else thinks the prequel trilogy ages like wine? I honestly love the three of them
I wanna see the second part of the battle of geonosis, that would be awesome. Also Kashyyk would be lit, you can see Lumimara on the beach and she looks so cool in that environment. Love these vids!
YES ANIME THE NOVEL
Yes!! I want to do it!
1:33 the Gungans of the shields on their back Michael. Thank you for the Video. You are awesome. :)
Damn, ive waited a looong time for this!
Great video! The battle of kashyyyk will be good for the next one.
Lmao they're essentially just glitches Gungans in idle pose.
13:09 Those are PK-series worker droids. They are playable in Lego Star Wars. You can also see them on the Lucrehulk at the start of the film.
and they also appear in the Lego mtt
Do the battle of Christophsis, such a cool battle and also there is that clone that punched a droid
12:05 ooooh i felt that hurting
I think the next battle in Slomo you should do is the battle of exigol
I was waiting for this vid
now this is the battle analysis I was waiting for
9:25 Suprised it wasn't T posing.
The little droids collecting battle droid parts can be seen before on board the droid ship for a brief moment, walking down the hallway, right after one of the hologram call with Palpatine/Sidius ends
Yes finally I love these videos keep it up man. I know this would take a while but you should do the second battle of Geonosis from TCW next
This video did take a while lol and YES
@@MichaelJaeYT maybe you could do the second half of the battle of geonosis with the droids vs clones.
9:40 the first gungan with the force being a force ghost
I just love how enthusiastic you are about this stuff
I’m honestly having so much fun with this series
@@MichaelJaeYT I'm not even a huge fan of star wars but these are really fun to watch and make me appreciate the detail in these films.

Those small droids at the end of the battle were PK series worker droids
At 10:51, the Gungan rolls past the droid and punches another droid. He then jumps backwards behind the other droid now facing towards the camera. The droid looks around and suddenly has his head smashed in by the Gungan.
This battle made me fall in love with Star Wars!.!.
Great I love this serie do more like the battle of scarif. And you missed something, when the Gungan shield generator explodes there is a Gungan falling!
You should do a space battle next (1st death star, 2nd death star, etc)
Coooooooooooooool, this was a REALLY cool battle
I always imagine that being underneath the repulsorlift vehicles would just crush you. Like they aren’t flying, but there’s an invisible but powerful force against the ground keeping them up and it would completely crush anything underneath it
Wouldn't that be more noticeable when passing over the grass then?
All the gungans look like extras in video game characters
13:13 those are labor droids of some kinf I think they're called PK labor droids? They were a more advanced competitor to the DUM Pit Droids and more on par with the ASP labor droid (Asp labor droif is seen in the ANH special edition fighting with an imperial mini probe, and I think in the episode where R2 and 3PO get kidnapped by pirates there's an ASP with a flamethrower in the droid fightclub.
Love this series, great video as well
Suggestion for the next battle: Episode 3, Battle of Kashyyyk
Also those little droids are scavenger droids, they used them after a battle to scavenge for droid parts and those parts would be either melted down to create more material for new droids, or they just used those pieces and put them straight on new droids
Thats so cool, droids bois are getting recycled
Oh man that's so cool!
Those are the little trade federation droids from the lurcrehulk in the beginning of the movie
5:37 nice reflection of a blaster shot. Cuts a Battle Droid in half.
I see you got this!
Man just the level of detail Lucas put into the prequels. I never knew.
Think about it. This is really high quality for 1999
4:36 he’s not actually dead, he’s just tired. Let him sleep.
Love this series so much
Using a stick to throw an object has been done for hundreds of years. The Mayans and Aztecs had a device called an Atlatl. Makes you throw an object harder, faster and further. Dog walkers sometimes have those things for throwing tennis balls- same principle.
Love your vid man. So interesting to see what things we miss even when we watch it multiple times. Star wars attention to detail is amazing. If you want to be triggered watch the dark night main battle in just regular speed and see how bad the background actors are. I honestly believe the laziness on that scene by DC has cursed them for life
2:05 The hell?! I never saw head on this droids! Thanks for info, love your channel. I got here for accident and stayed for more.
Greetings from Poland
Animating novel scenes sounds cool
I want to make it happen!
The droids at 13:11 are known as PK droids
I’m not sure exactly what they are but I know of their existence thanks to lego Star Wars
My assumption is that they’re repair droids or something to fix minor injuries to any battledroid, quickly fix them up and send them back into battle
Or salvage the destroyed battle droids for spare parts, recommission, or some other sort of thing
Yea just looked it up
They’re worker droids able to preform basic tasks such as repairs, organize supplies, clean up offices, and inventory cargo
I love that everyone knows about them because of Lego Star Wars
@@MichaelJaeYT they even appear in the newer Lego mtt set and you can see them in the background on board the
lucrehulk
Battle over Coruscant. I can't imagine the details through that massive long cut
Let’s go, the series is back.
Love the channel
1:44 They are literally on the backs of the entire front line if you look carefully and earlier. XD
Don't know if you actually saw them but the front line was pretty much there with them in formation with shields.
3:52 Just noticed, a couple of the droids in that shot has yellow on their heads, meaning they are commanders.
And the small grayish silver droids are called PK-series worker droids and are used in labor and such. You can also actually see some walk past a doorway in the background of the command bridge of the Lucrehulk droid control ship in the same movie.
this series is something i didnt know i needed
the battle droids in TPM taking over a monarchy, with those long gasmask-shaped faces and their tanks remind me of World War 1 soldiers
Yaaaaayyyyy lov u Michael ☺️
