I love seeing these dolls
Excellent collection
There were a lot of great dolls on display!
Everything really nice 👍👏
Thanks for the video !
You're welcome!
So cool I had that Barbie mod house when I was a kid 😂❤️
Also, it is so WONDERFUL that a Mom and daughter(as the two of you) really love the same hobby.... My mother also loves dolls, but unfortunately she is not well enough to go with me to Doll shows. And I miss her terribly.
I'm sorry to hear that!
On Thursday at my fave antique store whereas you never know what may come in___toy surprise . I saw and bought "Action Man" and a bargain 💕 shopping.
Always enjoy your videos. from Ann
On your other doll show--- soo cute your cat came up in full view. Think it was chicago show few years ago. from. ANN
Always enjoy looking at previous videos and doll shows. FromANN
The Madame Alexander doll without the wig was designed after the American born Fischer Quints who were born in 1963. Alexander just used the same doll as Little Genius but with molded hair. I'm catching up and enjoying the videos!
Thanks for the info!
This doll in pink very tall--- seen her at antique store where i shops. from ANN
i really enjoy your videos.
Thank you!
Love your. Reviews and the doll shows as well. Soo cute your 🐱 cat came up in video. from. ANN
Thank you!
very nice
Thanks!
I really like the format of this video, with you guys talking while pics of the show play.
Thank you for sharing your haul & experience ladies! I could listen to you two talk for hours. Love the two composition dolls :)
Thank YOU for watching!
OMG I HAD THAT BARBIE FAMILY HOUSE AS A KID. It was my moms!!!! She was a kid in the 60s. My parents divorced and it's gone forever!! I can't tell you how much I loved that. Seeing you have one similar is so bittersweet for me.
It's such a cool barbie house! Maybe one day you can pick one up for yourself?
Maybe!
this was such a great and relaxing episode. i always love seeing the two of you hang out and exchange thoughts
Thanks! I was a little worried about length, but decided that half the fun is listening to us interact!
Kewpie83 you're right about that! i usually have differing doll dreams compared to you, but it's just lovely watching and listening. like I'm hanging out with a couple of fellow doll aficionados
@@bubblegumplastic me too
Yay a doll show video - these always brighten my day!
I love that you both have such eclectic collections. Your passion for each doll always makes me interested to learn more, even if it's a type of doll I normally don't collect myself. The two of you make me want to expand my horizons!
Ah, thanks for the kind words!
So many beautiful dolls wish I could visit that place!!
The show runs twice a year in IL, so one day maybe you can!
Great video!! Love the haul videos! And when both of you can, we would love to see an updated collection video!!
Thanks for watching! I would do a collection update, but it hasn't changed very much, display wise. Hmmmm. I'll have to take a look at my last one and see what I had up!
Again, I'm so sad that we don't have shows like these in my country. I am so jealous of the people living in the States.
Maybe you want to start one? Even if it's a small gathering of friends at first taking photos and swapping outfits, it could turn into something bigger!
well, maybe. Sigh.
Please do a video for the bear fair. I loved the pics from the show in addition to what u bought. It is interest iing to me to see the changes in the doll community. I wonder what our future will look like. Might be fun to do a video about a toy talk. Changes and speculation for the future.
You guys should do another doll collection tour.and I don't have a composition doll either.
I'll add a collection tour to the list of 'to do's. :)
WoW you two purchased AWESOME dolls!! I really enjoyed the Jem case as I have never seen one before. and Toodles she is so pretty but Shirley Temple was a real find.. The story was almost a tear jerker one of my favorite things at a doll show is that opportunity to meet people like that..Thank you ladies for sharing your fun helluva good score day.
Yeah, we lucked out this show! My favorite transactions are those with real collectors, not just people who are out there to make a profit. Clearly, the Shirley doll came from a loving home. I made sure to let the previous owner know that I would take good care of Shirley!
very cute dolls ♡☆☆☆☆☆.
Thanks!
Your welcome :) friend
There used to be two doll shows near my home. Twice a year, one show was held at the LA County Fair Grounds and, twice a year, one was held at the Orange Show Fair Grounds in San Bernardino. Sadly, I haven't seen ads in shops announcing either of those shows for years and, instead, find myself looking for the dolls of my childhood on eBay. That has been rather successful except for one seller in Canada who sold Chatty Cathy dolls. Before shipping them, he'd pull off their heads and break the flange that secured the heads on the dolls. There were so many complaints against them (it was a husband/wife team) that eBay finally kicked them off their sellers.
It's sad that doll shows are so rare nowadays!
Super bargain for "Rock back Stager." from ANN
Having recently found the 2 of you I'm hooked! I moved from the Chicago area 2 years ago after living there for 20+ years and I'm embarrassed to say I never made it to the Kane County show! You found some great dolls :)
My current obsession is vintage Madame Alexander dolls so I suggest researching Little Genius and Quiz-kin for your little mystery baby you found. My opinion would be that it is a Little Genius with a "leftover" quiz-kin head as Madame was known to do this frequently with her unused stock which gives us today many unusual dolls!
Your doll looks to have great coloring which is a plus!
Thanks for sharing your dolls and your beautiful relationship with all of us!
I was thinking Little Genius and Quiz-kin too. The ones I saw in the book and online though had the curacul wigs on. So you don't think it's a reproduction for a doll or toy store? Do you know what year it might be? She has the sweetest little features. She makes me want more.

I think I might have figured it out! .. (it was driving me nuts as I knew I'd seen a baby like yours) It appears to be much like a Little Genius Fischer / Fisher Quint from 1964.
The doll is definitely old and not a reproduction! Now you'll really have to get more to complete the set :)
Well, going off of what you said, I checked out the Fischer quints and no one stated what their body structure was. So looking again, it must be the same body type, it is the same head. Then I just searched Wendy-Kin Baby and I found a few hits; and one shows the diaper that mine is wearing. Putting what everyone said in each of the entries, There was a Wendy-Kin baby and it has latex body with wires inside like a Tutti doll. And it came with a curacul wig or no wig and the no wig is supposed to be hard to find. Also she was only made in 1954. Wow, I've never had a purchase surprise me before. Now, mine came with a glass old fashioned baby bottle. The Quints came with a plastic one so maybe mine is a replacement. But, they might have given a child a glass baby bottle in 54. Thanks so much for your help, it was driving me nuts. I feel really good with my purchase and she's not going anywhere!

I enjoyed the hunt for info myself, and I would think it safe to say you found a rare little doll! I must warn you vintage Madame Alexander doll collecting can be addictive!
😊
Hi! I enjoyed the variety of dolls you displayed! Keep hunting and sharing your finds with us. I am a new SUBSCRIBER 😀.
Great hauls guys .. Thanks for sharing .. if possible could one of you do a review on the Barbie house I'm not very familiar with it.. thanks
Yep! I plan on taking that out to talk about soon. Maybe this weekend. The roof is so fragile that I just didn't want to do any damage by trying to open it while holding it at the same time.
the toodles doll is too cute!! & Kewpie, I love your haircut :)
Thanks! I prefer short hair to long, since my hair is so thin and straight! Toodles is a cutie. I'm glad my mom could find one!
Hello from the subscriber that said hello to you in the atrium/cafeteria of the big building (I am in the pic you show at 21:13) I also said hello to Barbee in the other cafeteria.. LOL It was nice meeting you! Great finds, I am glad to see that the backstager went to a good home. I already have one, but the one you got is in slightly better shape than mine. Not a fan of the layout, I would of preferred if they put them all in one room. We shall see if it is different next time. If they aren't getting enough doll vendors to fill that one building I understand why they changed it but I kind of wish there was a better way. Love that Barbie family house! That small Madame Alexander Sicilian doll is adorable. I am going to try to go to the doll show in September. Not sure about the one is June or the second toy show in Oct yet.
It was good to see you! What I don't understand is why couldn't they have just put the dolls (all of the vendors) in a room that was shared with toys? Makes more sense to me than making two doll rooms. It was just so strange.
How much is the composition doll with red dress?
I don't remember exactly, but she was priced well. She's a Shirley Temple Clone.
As a (somewhat newbie) collector, I really enjoy watching your videos! I have a couple Sasha's in need of reroots and am wondering the best way to go about it... would you consider posting your new Sasha doll hair restoration project to give guidance? Thanks!
I would, but we ended up wigging that Sasha! There are some sasha groups on FB that might be helpful. Also, if you search for sasha reroot here on CZcams, I think you'll find a tutorial for the knot method.
I wonder if the Shirley clone is a "Miss Charming" by Goldberger? I have one in my own collection which was won by a child at a fair held in 1937.
Effanbee was usually really good about marking their dolls, usually with the doll's name. The estate doll reminds me of their "Lovums".
Hmmmm. They do look rather similar. I'll have to do more research. You may be onto something!
On reflection, I'm doubtful the estate sale composition doll is "Lovums". She looks very similar to an Effanbee doll called "Marilee". Look forward to more compo additions to you and your mother's collections!
We've ordered a bunch of books from the library on Effanbee dolls, so maybe one of those will be enlightening. Marilee is pretty close, though!
Sounds like you're on your way to solving the mystery. I would also recommend Ursula Mertz two books on composition dolls for an overview. Also, Tonya Bervaldi-Camaratta's book "Shirley Temple Dolls and Collectibles" is an excellent source for information on dolls like your new "Miss Charming". Ideal's Shirley Temple doll was such a phenomenal success that the other major toy companies tried to produce a very similar doll. Some collectors refer to these dolls as "Shirley Temple clones".
Did you ever get a chance to repair the Sasha doll?
I believe my mom gave her a hair wash and a hat.
I have the cat cabbage patch kids
do you have any cabbage patch kids?
