The year I was the flute teacher at Penn State (a very long time ago-I’m retired-I arranged to have a lesson with Panitz when I went to Philadelphia to visit my mom’s aunt. It turns out he used to live in her apartment building. At the time I had no idea my dad’s family was related by marriage to the Panitz’s in Poland until I met my Panitz cousins.
Murray Panitz said he used to practice breathing while driving on the freeway. This was in the days of the 55 MPH speed limit. He would take a quick breath as he passed a mile marker, and blow out steadily through slightly pursed lips all the way until the next marker, at which point he would again take another breath and blow out anew. I can’t remember if he said he was driving 60 in a 55mph zone, or if he was doing the speed limit. In any case, it makes for a series of approximately minute long exhalations with one short breath in between. COD: aortic aneurysm.
Great job!
Any ideas for older people whose rib cages don’t want to expand much anymore?
Cool video topic

Interesting headjoint.
Do you mean for Carol Wincing? I'm pretty sure it's a wooden head joint. Many makers are producing these nowadays.
