    I see people take apart the brake line to run it through the ring welded to the frame. The way I like to deal with this ring is to cut the ring on the inside as close to the frame as possible. Now you have a broken ring welded to the frame and all you have to do is bend the ring a little to get lines in and out and you don't have to open the hydraulic lines. The split ring holds the line just fine, I have never had issues doing it like that.

    Hey I have a mx500 which I want to mod I have never done something like this so I have been doing research on it. Your videos are helping a lot but I feel overwhelmed with all the options. I was going to go with the vevor kit but people say the controller is not the best. So now I’m looking at a kunray kit. What would you recommend? I don’t want to go to fast I think I would be happy with around 35mph, I would also want a setup that will allow for upgrades if I decide I want more power. I was thinking about a 48v 2000watt setup with either a 48v or 52v battery.

    • @PatOutdoors
      @PatOutdoors  Před 4 měsíci +1

      The Kunray 2000W kit is what I had on my first mx650 build, certainly a slightly higher quality kit that the vevor in my opinion. The controller still also has its limitations. The Kelly controller is what makes the big power and speed difference at the end of the day. A 52v lithium battery with at least a 50 amp BMS rating and a 13-tooth front sprocket should be able to get you the 35 mph you are looking for

    • @PatOutdoors
      @PatOutdoors  Před rokem

      Well this bike is not on a BTR pack. My 48v pack on my other Mx650 had issues after 2 week, but warranty took care of me and gave me credit towards a 72V battery last year. The 72v has held up fine for almost a year so far.

    Hey pat, quick question: Is your throttle 5v or 12v, because i can't seem to find a 5v one most are 12v? Will 12v work with kelly Controller?

    • @PatOutdoors
      @PatOutdoors  Před 10 měsíci

      The one on this 52V bike I'm using is the "EMX Lite" 5V throttle by Electro & Co. The one on my 72V bike I'm using this one: amzn.to/43t7wXO
      Both bikes have the same Kelly controller installed.

    What selections do I need to make on the EnC controller do I choose the Ultimate plug and play or just pre tuned also Bluetooth or no Bluetooth.

    • @PatOutdoors
      @PatOutdoors  Před 7 měsíci

      Do you not want to do a bunch of wiring like I had to? Then select plug and play if you want to save time. I went with just pre-tuned since I wanted to save some money and see if I could learn to wire.
      No need for Bluetooth if you are not comfortable with changing tune settings yourself.

    • @ghastly545
      @ghastly545 Před 6 měsíci

      @@PatOutdoors So the plug and play comes tuned (correct me if I’m wrong) and works with the motor and everything else in this vid plug and play? (Correct me if I’m wrong) (also could you use EnC 52v battery) also it says for wire it says “select wire” and the option says “none” only, I’m guessing it just works tho. Also would any battery work that’s 52v and would any 1800w motor.

    • @PatOutdoors
      @PatOutdoors  Před 11 měsíci

      Depends what controller you are using and what sprocket sizes. With a Kelly controller programmed by E&C and a 15-tooth front sprocket, I was able to get 39 MPH. The generic brushless 33A controllers only got it to 34 MPH

      Maybe it's not programmed to be different in the different modes. I connected to my Kelly with the tablet and noticed all (3) settings were set to 100% speed. @@PatOutdoors That's awesome. I'd love to convert some of my gas stuff into electric, like my TT-R 125, Polaris Outlaw 50, and Trailmaster 150 buggy. I'm in Greenville, SC. I have 2 MX650's, and a bunch of other Razor toys for my kids. My ideal would be to have 1 of the MX650's setup for adults (I'm 6'4" 200lb) to easily power up steep hills. I don't care as much about top speed, so 25 mph is plenty, but the torque & hill climbing needs to be there. The other one, I want for my kids, but with increased torque as well so they can get up some of the short, but steep, hills we have on the property. Ideal would be to have 3 power modes (similar to Sur Ron Light Bee X, but 3, not 2 modes) so the kids aren't popping wheelies, but can climb hills when needed.
