Finally! Someone who actually explains all of the processes lol. Thanks man! You’ve got a subscriber
Thanks a bunch for the kind words, I'm glad this video helped! More ebike videos coming 👍
@@ChrisBuissonDIY no prob! This is also pretty much my exact setup at the moment 52v/2kw vevor and with it being the first I want to make sure I know exactly what to do so this is awesome. Looks like I only have a few connectors left to order and I can start the build! Thanks again looking fwd to the new content!
So if you wanted, could you use just the stock throttle? And with that new motor do you have to get a bigger battery or could you also use the 3 stock batteries? And i love the way you explained everything, you made it seem so simple. Thnk u.😁👍
I have a budget of around 800 ($CAD) and I want to upgrade the Razor pocket mod moped with this video.
Would these be compatible with the moped razor? awesome video man
do you have a new link for the battery? it doesn't work at the moment...
I love what you're doing here, *I know its more of an opinion, but those solder joints would be stronger and have less resistance if you braided/joined the two wire ends before soldering. Much Love!!!!
Appreciate the feedback, I'll look at doing that for next time!
I just got one for Christmas
Hey im doing a similar build and deciding on a battery. You've made a 52v 30ah battery work despite vevor spec being 48v. If i was to use an amazon bought 52v 20ah battery, would this degrade or possibly break the motor as apposed to a 48v 20ah? Is this technically overvolting?
So what’s the point of the electric lock on the throttle do I need to have that plugged in for it work?
Hey what battery are you using is it just 1 battery or more?
What new chain should I use?
I connected everything up as instructed and when I give it throttle the motor barely spins like a millimeter no more then that. Any tips how to fix it
Hello, do you know the gear ratio’s and the diameter of the wheel?
Does this work on the original razor motor?😊
I have a vevor motor with 48v everything but when i twist the throttle the motor goes a tiny bit then stops. Any tips?
How did you get vevor to sponsor you??
Absolutely fire video mate. Great explanation of everything and love the way the video is put together 👌🏼👌🏼
where did you get the battery from
Hola tendria un manual de instalación de modulador para bike Jetson 36 volt
How would you turn the bike off with the throttle that comes with the kit
Whats the size of the battery box?
Hi Chris, I hope you still reply to comments. I was wondering uppon extensive use, does your controler was getting hot? I plan to use this kit on a av boat conversion, so it will run mid range for long time and maybe some pulls if possible. I am wondering if I will need to cool the controler as well as the motor. (I will cool the motor for sure)
I didn't notice it get it very hot, but definitely warm after some medium-duty useage for 1 hour. If you're going to be running the boat for a long time at mid throttle, I'd consider adding some cooling to the controller as well. Cool build, good luck!
How much was the price at the end of the bike
Can you use the original mx650 battery to connect the vevor connector and motor and how do you know when you drilled a deep enough hole? When you attach your battery does that effect the plastic design on it
The Vevor motor kit is 48V or larger and the stock batteries are 36V total (three batteries at 12V each) so you can add another SLA battery to get to 48V but the bike won't be as fast and his because he has a larger battery. I installed a 48V lithium battery and get to 30mph with plenty of power.
If I was you, I would save up for a good quality lithium ion battery, because the stock razor lead acids are really cheap and wont give you much ride time, and they will also give you less power.
so i just got a Trailmaster Cheetah i6 for my kids christmas present, brand new, just delivered and assembled today. It supposedly has 3 speeds, L/M/H. however, its only switching L/M, M/H speed selection does nothing to increase the speed. Thinking its just the switch?
Ebike manufacturers sometimes forget to plug things in at the factory, I'd recommend taking the covers off and checking to see if the wire is plugged in, kinked, or broken. Good luck!
Can I use the motor alone with my own speed control knob and plug it in? Will it work? I don’t need those other parts. I’m using it for a different project.
This is a brushless motor so you will need some sort of controller or ESC in order to spin the motor and control the speed of it. But yes, you could use this motor for lots of things! Thanks for watching
Im new to wiring, so instead of soldering the wires could i just twist them together?
No, You need a solid connection
Bro what battery did you use here? Doesn’t show on the link on your description. Thanks
I built the battery myself used recycled cells! I have a couple videos on my channel showing my methods on battery building
Can hill up 15•? Degree
NIcely done!
Thanks Shwell!
I have the same motor but I upgraded the controller to a beefier, 45 amp controller. My top speed right now on the stock sprocket is around 25. I see that you are hitting low 30s. Do you know a possible cause for this? I have a 52v battery as well
Could be that your controller has multiple speed settings and it's stuck in a lower speed mode. Hope that helps, if not, time to get a better controller!
@@ChrisBuissonDIY Ok thanks that’s a really good point. Am I able to use a jumper wire from the speed mode pins to get it to a certain speed mode if I don’t have a 3 speed throttle?

Hey i have a question.
Does it have to be a razor bike or could i put it on my escooter
You can put it on anything really! The mounting holes have standard dimensions, and the sprocket can be changed out. Just use whatever battery that fits your needs and it should be plenty powerful!
We have to SOLDER??
Would a 48v 10000 mah battrey work with this kit and also what would happend if the main red and black wire on controller touch and spark (twice) i hope i didnt burn out the controller
I got this kit off somebody where they had a sofada battrey with is sparked because I touched the positive to the negative
If you connect a battery the wrong way, most times it will fry the controller or battery BMS.
could you do this with no welding? i have no welder and i want to build one
Yeah! You don't need a welder to build one, just a saw-zall to cut off the battery tray if you're putting in a larger battery like me.
Hi, this motor kit need battery lead-acid or does it work with a lithium battery?
It will work with either battery!
Hi, I am a highschooler in the STEM academy, and my group's capstone project was to make a gasoline powered lawnmower into an electric vehicle. We bought this kit to do our connection, and believe we have everything connected right, but it is not working. Is there any way we can get on a zoom call with you and show you our project and connection in hopes of fixing it?
Hey sorry for the late reply, check that all your wires are connected correctly and you're using the throttle that came with the kit. Hope you figured it out, good luck!
How fast will this go?
Also how long does battery last?
he said at the end of the video
With the 72v 3000 watt vevor motor and a 72v 20ah battery from amorge on Facebook, how long of a ride could I get out of that? Say riding on pavement at 160 pounds?
i can buy a $200 72v battery and it will last about 5 hours and has maybe a couple thousand cycles from charging 0-100,
72v3000w will last about 3-5 hour ride
Would you recommend installing a fuse?
Good idea if you're using lead acid batteries, as those don't have a BMS. Or if you have a lithium battery and want extra safety, you could add a fuse, but most lithium batteries have a BMS that will disconnect power in case too many amps are pulled. Hope that makes sense!
The power output issue is the controller itself right?
The choppy throttle is a result of the controller, which uses a square-wave power output. This makes the controller cost less money, but also less smooth when putting down the power.
Bonjour j'ai le même en 3000w et quand j'accélère il fait un bruit aiguë et navence pas
I am hopefully installing this motor tonight.
What did you do with the green blue and yellow wires coming from the motor with circle connectors?
The diagram shows them matching up with the controller’s same colored wires.
They both have the circle connectors and the bike doesn’t really have metal grounded bolts anywhere.
Thanks
Actually I am looking at it now and just realized my original charging wire is backwards and the positive is not matching the controller positive
Personally I just cut those connectors off and soldered the wires together, but you can also use a MR60 connector. Hope that helps
@@ChrisBuissonDIY well things didn’t go well. I am 95% sure everything is wired correctly. I test drove it, it’s not any faster than the original motor.
Speed 1 is very slow. Speed 2 is faster and speed 3 does nothing.
I attempted to plug in the charger and it sparked. Scared the hell out of me. Not sure why it sparked, the wires are correct.
@@WardoUSAbro I encountered all the problems you just mentioned, let me know how you fixed them
@@Jsosodke I got absolutely nowhere with calling the company either. They sent me a cleaner copy of the instructions, but the same issues persist. My son kind of doesn’t care anymore so I left it as is.
@@WardoUSA damn that sucks to hear, my current problem right now is that every time I give throttle, the motors moves like a millimeter and no more then that. I have no idea how to fix it
Whats the small connector on your battery?
The bigger one is an XT-60 connector for the controller, the smaller one is a DC barrel plug for my charger! Thanks for watching :)
hey bud ill give u 2 snowmobiles to make a project out of
Haha that sounds like a fun time but I live in Florida 😭 we don't get much snow down here 😂
@@ChrisBuissonDIY i tore the skies off and added gocart wheels
What are the chances of the motor breaking or controller breaking?
Both are pretty reliable, unless you run too much power and overheat either the motor or controller.
Yo bro where do u get your razor bikes from ?
Facebook marketplace, offerup, or craigslist!
Do you make batteries for sale brother?
No sorry, but you can find custom batteries if you search for them. Many people I know use a company called Amorge Battery on facebook.
Was there any delay in the throttle?
No delay in throttle, but it's definitely sensitive!
Thanks, Chris. Seems like I will copy your work.
I got the motec with an electric and co controller that thing rips
I can't wait to mod mine! Sounds sick
TBH, that solder job at 3:30 was atrocious! How many minutes of riding did you get before that failed?
?
Hello for the battery my motor has 2 wires that have a hole at the end of it but it wont match up with the battery, how do i get them to work together??
If you're motor has 2 wires, it's a brushed motor and won't work with a brushless motor controller.
Yo do you have to solder the controller/motor connectors if you dont want to? Great vid btw
You don't need to! But it makes the best connection without resistance or heating up in the future. If you use connectors, use high quality connectors rated for the current. hope that makes sense!
@@ChrisBuissonDIY thanks for the info it rlly helps
@@ChrisBuissonDIYhow do i chck what adapters are compatible and high quality ik u said chrck the current but how do i check thst
