    Purchased this after your review - it was nice to learn after my purchase that you were 100% spot on. Thanks Shane! I enjoy both the ability of the looser setups allowing for easier snaps and slides. Tighter for stability at speed... exactly how you demonstrated!

    Dude, you're the best! Thank you so much for the wheelbase measurements. I was wondering about the actual axle to axle measurement. Now I can pick a deck that suits my surf stance.
    Your riding is amazing! I haven't seen anyone going as tight as you on CX trucks. I don't know why anyone would bother with smoothstar or C7 when the CX is so much more reliable and can do such tight turns.

    Bought the Carver Triton Astral 29 on Shane’s approval. Happy with the purchase and great review as always. Keep it up, Shane. BTW, the wheels are grippy and skin on but I can slide it easily hands down. It’s the front truck. I get wheel bite if I loosen it a bit, though.

    Underrated?? Hell no!!! I learnt the very basics of pummping, carving and bottom turning on a Carver Triton 26" (suppossedly for kids...and I'm 5,11 and 185 pounds)...so yeah. Love it, gonna keep it and will continue to use it in conjuction with my newer Slide diamond tail. It showed me a fantastic new world of surfskating...and I'm trully tahnkful for that weird and random purchased made 2 years ago. Who knew...

  • @patrician3guidaallimperode222

    I can t realize how can you slide and snap with that wheels. I feel it super grippy D: I m trying to snap but the only way to get it, it s been to install back wheels on the side with no lips to get less grip

    Hi! Thank you for the video! Love it!! I wanted yo ask something idk if you could help me. I'm thinking about buying one but with your height you posted before... Don't you feel the board too large? I'm 180 cm and don't know if 32" would be too large for me.

    • @shanelai2515
      @shanelai2515  Před rokem +1

      longer boards and wb allows for wider and lower stance for deeper and stylish carve. it all depends on your natural stance and what allows you to squat deep ( if that's what you want)

    • @Iconicbubbles589
      @Iconicbubbles589 Před rokem

      For me, I like the 32” popsicle stick shape the best. I ride the 29” Astral Triton for these kicktail/fishtail/pintail shapes and it’s fine. These boards have no functional nose so you can go shorter deck and still keep your usual stance. If the deck is too long, you can always drill extra holes at the nose to shorten your wheel base.

  • @KitesiteBr
    @KitesiteBr Před rokem

    Hi Shane! I have been reading that the triton cx truck made in asia are slightly shorter in length than the carver cx made in California. As you probably have both, could you give your opinion on that? In the video they appear to be exactly the same, but if it is a small difference we can not tell just watching the videos. Thanks a lot! I am learning a lot with your videos.

    • @shanelai2515
      @shanelai2515  Před rokem +3

      Honestly I don't know. I put them side by side and I saw no difference on the outside. Though we can recognise a carver CX from a triton CX by the 'Neil Carver' forged in the metal on the underside (tritons don't have it)

    Hi I will get mine in about a week but the wheels are 83A instead of 78A. Does it make a big difference in ride comfort?

    • @Iconicbubbles589
      @Iconicbubbles589 Před rokem

      I find the durometer to be less important than the urethane formula. I like 78a and cannot tell the difference between it and 77a and 80a. I have 88a as well and still cannot tell the difference. I notice a difference in comfort at 93a. The softer, the more comfortable. If you like hard wheels, you can always put a shock absorber or rubber riser.

    So can you adjust the looseness of the truck by adjusting the screws or what were u doing there? Would u recommend to loosen it up to go to a skate park?

    • @shanelai2515
      @shanelai2515  Před 3 lety

      Yes, looseness is adjustable through the screws. Looseness preference is highly individual. Looser setups allows for easier snaps and slides. Tighter for stability at speed

  • @broadrichard7438
    @broadrichard7438 Před rokem

    So to do the infinite loop on Triton you don’t need to add the body up/down? You make that too easy😫. I always stuck at the transition and my experienced friend told me I need to add the body weight up/down to gain more momentum, which I’m also bad at as I can’t straighten my leg effective enough to provide the momentum 😭

    • @rightuppercut1426
      @rightuppercut1426 Před 11 měsíci

      Beginner surfskater here, so what do I know. However, I can imagine that bodyweight also makes a difference whether turns are easy or not. I’m about 200 lbs and turning is not much of a problem. Hope this helps.

    • @daikw
      @daikw Před 3 lety +3

      When you say "cheap shit" what's the real problem with it? the concave on the triton is comfortable but still there, the deck is very lightweight; good for carrying under one arm and can pump up hills more easily. The kicktail is prominent and well cambered. I have a yow deck (coxos) and have swapped over my merakis to the triton deck because I prefer the riding experience. If you have valid critiques of the carver deck I'm all ears.

      @@nicolassullivan7746 sweet. Its not a premium board in terms of thickness and density like the yow decks. But it makes up for that in ergonomics IMO. How do you like it?

    • @KitesiteBr
      @KitesiteBr Před rokem

      @@daikw Perfect! I like the shape and overall dimensions of the deck. It is all there! I wish it were denser, but it would make it heavier as well... When it hits something or scratches in the ground, the damage in the deck is bigger. But I believe the purpose of the Triton is introduce you to sufskating. When you get hooked and are skating quite well, it is time to move on.
