    holy moly that copper farm. this got me wanting to be on a create server. create is such a cool tech mod bc it is so...tactile? in universe? idk. other tech mods dont appeal to me as much because theyre just. lots of intense resource gathering to make a bunch of parts that make other parts to make a box that does one specific thing. Create seems to simplify that process while also being very physical, and yet very powerful, and creative! which i love to see.

    @lordmctheobalt Před rokem +235

    Hey Tango, you have to lock the funnels on the main bus when the smart factory isn't requesting that item. Otherwise you get into the situation where bdubs requested iron ingots but they all immediately got sucked in for the iron sheets. What if you need iron ingots further down the line?

    • @-namehiereinfuegen511
      @-namehiereinfuegen511 Před rokem +62

      As long as the container behind that funnel fills up, there‘s no problem. Once the funnel can‘t take more items in, the overflow will automatically flow to machines further down the line.

    • @piorfino
      @piorfino Před rokem +31

      I think the clutches at the back of each processor will solve that. If that process isn't turned on then the buffer vault will be full and the item will continue down the main bus.

    • @NightKnight347
      @NightKnight347 Před rokem +54

      That's both the purpose and weakness of main bus factory design. You put your highest volume foundational items at the front so they can be processed in the bulk you need, and then they flow through all the more complicated processes. If you have something that is super critical (like military equipment for base defense in Factorio), you do not want to be placing that late in the processing chain. Highest priority is at the front, lowest priority at the back. If you want to process everything simultaneously, you have to increase the throughput of your bus line to allow enough throughput for everything to work at its maximum speed. There is nere a main bus in the world that actually does this. They all rely on backlog and taking advantage of the natural variability in demand to process things slowly but consistently until an adequate surplus is made.

    • @dhkoster
      @dhkoster Před rokem +9

      There's ways to literally funnel the requests as a first priority, just stick a redstone-linked smart chute as the first thing under the output line from the item in question and anything from the item vault's buffer will go down the separate request line first until the request is filled. There are even ways to smartly adjust the size of the request.

    • @liger04
      @liger04 Před rokem +17

      He talks about this in streams, but the end goal is for there to be a redstone control room for requesting things. Because funnels must receive a signal to close and he wants to keep the designs compact, he's probably going to handle requesting logic in the control room and let it be a free-for-all until then. That way there only needs to be a redstone receiver on each funnel instead of a mess of redstone next to each module.

    15:01 And this, this is the reason I love technical Minecraft players play with mods. They get really inspired, and think this through in every little tile and bit

    some players' cobble gen uses a pickaxe
    other players' cobble gen use tnt or a modded block breaker
    Tango's cobble gen uses the Pauli Exclusion Principle

    Literally the favorite part of my week is a new tango video. Tango is really in his groove here! Honestly for the past like 6 months every single video is a banger from decked out design to wonkification of minecarts in crossover to this work of art in create. I'd love to see more of the spreadsheets like we briefly saw last episode for organizing the design process, bc as an amateur redstoner, I know how much thought goes into that side of it!

    Tango you absolute genius. I've put hundreds of hours into the mod and somehow, despite being the guy that loves to make things modular, never thought to make a modular factory like this. It's like a dream come true. Also love the cobble factory - I never would have thought to mine the cobble with anything other than drills.
