- After changing the timing belt and water pump on our 2016 Fiat 500 1.2 8V (VVT-engine) I needed to perform a Phonic Wheel Learn Reset using the MultiEcuScan (registered version) software. The procedure is the same for other Fiat models.
www.multiecuscan.net
Before doing this procedure you have to first execute the Self-adaption parameters reset. After that run the Phonic Wheel Learn Reset.
This procedure must be performed when a phonic wheel is replaced. It allow to reset all the timing edges that are learnt each time the engine is started, all the adaptive parameters of the UniAir module and the phonic wheel, from the control unit.
Turn the key OFF and wait 60 seconds after successful execution of this procedure and let the ECU reset its internal registers.
After that start the engine, let it warm up (temperature +80°C) and perform at least 3 accelerations up to 6000 RPM (with gear in neutral). The check engine light flashes and goes off after you have successfully performed the adaptation. - Komedie
thank you.good job.
Worked like a charm on my 2010 Ford Ka, thanks for posting :) !
Hi
Did you use the free or paid version to learn the phonic wheel timing??
Thank you. I have learnt something.
Great video, i am wondering if this sensor self relearns , i asked the mechanic to change the cambelt and all seems fine , no errors or faults, should i do this too? I dont know if he performed that best regards
Do you know if it is possible to adjust the idle rpm with this software?
is it possible to perform this with an unregistered software package?
Hi. Great video. What Adapter are you using with the multiscan? and is is the Free version of multiscan or do you need the registered one?
chers :-)
I have the registered version and don't know if the operation can be done with the free version. I bought the modified ELM-cable from here: www.ebay.com/itm/204045818032
Why does the MultiEcuScan not show the long term and short term fuel trims in the parameters mode?
It seems that not all ECU:s are supported. I'm not able to see the fuel trims for our car. But I can see them on my iCarsoft CR PRO. On some cars the fuel trims can be found under Parametres labeled--> FRA and DTV.
I could indeed see the fuel trims on a universal obd reader. But I see very strange numbers, the long term fuel trims are constantly at 65% and the short term fluctuates from -90% / +70%. Weird Italian Cars 🤣🤣🤣
