  • Brad Lancaster believes that Tucson, and other cities around the world, can live off rainwater. This is the story of how he transformed his neighborhood by experimenting with water harvesting, worked with the city of Tucson to legalize those methods, and has become a beacon of hope and possibility for abundance rooted in sustainability. We need to teach this to the homeschooled kids. They're the ones that will make the real change in this world.

I love the fact that there is so much to learn from other folks in other cultures who have pieces of the puzzle! Thanks, Brad for being open to new ideas and innovating on your own.

I wish we would use the term czar in our job titles. It's from days gone by in RUSSIA! Let us start using terms like steward in our titles. That is a step in the direction of changing our culture. Love this work.

Such grand efforts by all involved, including the people watching. We took the time to view this gathering. We could have done other things, however, the knowledge and inspiration we can get from this short recording can over flow in to a rain garden... Thanks for the motivation. 😁 I got a few ideas and have already made some moves to raise awareness about harvesting rainwater.

This is so brilliant, I’m so glad I took the time to watch it. Inspiring!
Definitely keen to work out how to do this in my city - Whangarei, New Zealand, as the recent cyclone showed us the areas that flood in extreme weather events, and now we know where we have to put the work in 😊
    Thanks everyone!

I have been living 100% off rainwater for the last 11 years, in North Central Victoria, Australia, semi-arid climate and Zone 9B. Sometimes we have NO RAIN WHATSOEVER for 5 months at a time!
I think I had three x 20,000 litre water deliveries for my main farm dam in late 2015. This was really expensive and at that time, I began seriously working on my farm catchment (top 10 acres of land). We had a major flood in early 2016 which filled up all my catchment amendments (no damage to my house) and I haven't needed a water delivery since!
A few large projects were done with a Bobcat or Bulldozer, but most of the work has been done by hand, just me and my spade and lots and lots of digging!
I get asked by friends sometimes, during droughts, how my water situation is, and I always say, "I'm Good!", because I am!
If everyone was doing this, we'd have no water problems, whatsoever!

    Party on dude.

Excellent information. For the future though, can you avoid aggressively monetizing these hour long podcasts? It's frustrating trying to learn this critical knowledge while having a loud and abrasive advertisement blasting my headphones literally every 3 minutes. I would much rather support you through donations or patreon, and this channel doesn't have enough traffic to even warrant such an ad scheme.

CZcams without adblockers like uBlock Origin is unthinkable nowadays. It isn't the creator's fault.
