The Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II is an American family of single-seat, single-engine, all-weather stealth multirole combat aircraft that is intended to perform both air superiority and strike missions. It is also able to provide electronic warfare and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities. Lockheed Martin is the prime F-35 contractor, with principal partners Northrop Grumman and BAE Systems. The aircraft has three main variants: the conventional takeoff and landing (CTOL) F-35A, the short take-off and vertical-landing (STOVL) F-35B, and the carrier-based (CV/CATOBAR) F-35C.
The Saab JAS 39 Gripen (IPA: [ˈɡrǐːpɛn]; English: griffin)[Nb 2][2] is a light single-engine multirole fighter aircraft manufactured by the Swedish aerospace and defense company Saab AB. The Gripen has a delta wing and canard configuration with relaxed stability design and fly-by-wire flight controls. Later aircraft are fully NATO interoperable. As of 2020, more than 271 Gripens of all models, A-F, have been built.[Nb 1]

While being a Swede and a huge Gripen fan, I have to say, there are always problems with these type of DCS setups. In reality, no air force would line up as knights in shining armor at each side of the sky and fight it out in true tourney fashion. Not to mention that two airplane models must be compared on so many more levels than just what they do once they get in the air (which might still be to the Gripen's advantage, but then again, likely an F35 would be backed by the world's largest superpower, so...) However, this video also likely compared meteors vs AMRAAMs? Or whatever the F35 is using. Rather than plane vs plane... I understand future versions of F35 will support the meteor as well, and that might be a fairer comparison, however, it would still just be airplane vs meteor...
Love the GRIPPEN. An A1 Multirole fighter. Like the DASSALT Mirage-4000 just a beautiful classic jet fighter design with modern improvements.
We have to understand the stealth concept. U can’t hidden from your enemy always. You all thinks Gripen doesn’t use radar

Well it would be interresting to have details on detection and a counter showing when in the different phases the planes were gone. What robots was used by the F35? In the end the robots ability together with the planes radar to track the opponent is ofc crucial. Also remember that when the planes are close the difference in stealth will be more or less gone. The Gripen is a smaller airplane by itself, and if the planes ability to disturb or turn away from tracking missiles it will have big impact. The F35 Stealth ability is biggest from the front so when it goes to dogfight other stats are more important than stealth including robots aboility to lock and turn.

The Gripen is not a fifth generation aircraft. The F35 is a fifth generation aircraft, and it's stealth. but why did the Gripen launch the missile first, if stealth is difficult to detect. admin please explain??
The F35 mod is not prefect or the missile is launched from JAS 39 C aka meteor, is over hyped performed or the missile is perfect at dealing. One of the mod is not right or is it perfect (the F35C), one of the missile is over hyped or technically perfect, Some thing is suspicious.
Let's be real. The gripen and F35 has never been in a real dogfight, so the stealth of the f35 against gripen is not confirmed yet. Not to mention the aircraft has over 800 failures along with at least 5 critical ones. Gripen carries the meteor missile which is one of the deadliest missiles that can ever be used in a dogfight. The f35 has not.
Geometric stealth is what separates 4th and 5th.

Stealth doesnt mean invicible, the gripen radar can detect them at range, its just that what they see is 50 bumble beas flying towards them at mach 1

The f35s are the Quarterbacks.the would get on the radio and call in the eagles which each one would have 25 120 assrams each one 50×25 is alot more than those gripens could digest all fifty of them.and their bases would be taken out by tamohawk missiles until the aircraft carriers got their and then the anphibous landing ships.and the paratroopers This is all out war.
Hey who detected first, even that this is JAS 39C which has pulse dorp radar (PESA radar) while JAS 39E has AESA radar. The F35C has stealth capabilities and better at ECCM and EW suite that make the F35C difficult to target or detect on radar from a long range Or the missile is the one which detect first. Something is suspicious.
