In this DCS World Simulator video I'm in the JAS39 Gripen fighting SU57 Felon flown by Betzer (Thanks so much for the help). Hope you guys enjoy!
I love playing simulators, I started with Arma 3 and then I saw DCS World. I also enjoy War Thunder , Battlefield , Ghost recon, Squad , Rome total war, Microsoft Flight Simulator and more. I also enjoy World War II games including il-2 In DCS World i found all the jets that i wanted to fly in a simulator the F 16 Viper , FA 18 Hornet , F 15 Eagle , A 10 Warthawg , SU 27 , Mig 29 , P 51 , Spitfire , AH 64 Apeche , Heuy and more... And if you will download MODs the options are endless: F 22 Raptor, SU 57 , A 4 Skyhawk , SR 71 Blackbird , Rafale, Gripen and the list goes on.

I think the Gripen designers, and the Gripen Pilots for sure, would definitely have something to say about the idea that a SU57 is Goliath to them. Not saying the SU57 is a poor plane, just that the Gripen is a massively dangerous plane for anyone.

SAF flies Gripen C, D and E over my house all the time. When they do low altitude training in like a fourship I giggle like a little kid. Love the Gripen

One of my glider designs is the "JAS-41 Kraken". A design for a Swedish 5th generation fighter, with reduced observability and the signature Swedish canard/Delta design.
Can you link to a picture of it?
That SU-57 is a pretty looking machine!
Only because it takes design elements from the sexiest plane ever, the YF-23, but that is just my opinion

I just love how compact and overall cool the Gripen looks. I haven't seen a side-to-side comparison with different jets but it looks like some kind of fighter jet hot hatchback 😊

Does DCS mods offer the networked targeting/shooter capability when you fly with in formation/two ship?
I think you could do with turning your resolution up, I had the setting on 4K and I have a 1440p monitor but the video looked only like 1080p resolution

Interesting Fact, the front /Cockpit section of the airframe of the Su-57 is very similar if not copied of the USA YF-23 Prototype.
What is a chore line?
Ive heard Gripen is sort of an "asymmetric" solution to fighting against stealthy adversaries, advanced EW/ jamming capabilities, anyone know more?
As far as I’ve understood it, Gripen relies heavily on networking and creating a superior situational awareness.
This applies more for the Gripen E whereas the Gripen in DCS is a Gripen C which has a lot less of the EW features. Basically the Gripen E relies on it's internal EW Suite, "Arexis", against stealth adversaries, which uses a lot of sensors and processes the information for the pilot to use. This also applies to the Gripen C and even A as in their first red flag with the As, they basically acted as their own AWACs(they were on red team so limited AWAC support), and Gripen E basically amplifies that with it's better and more numerous sensors. It's pretty similar to the Thales SPECTRA if you're familiar with that on the Rafale. The jamming you are talking about is on the Gripen E interanally, but they also have a new jamming pod that they can mount to do more dedicated EW stuff and ofc they can mount other jamming pods if needed.

@@per-andersgrimming846 Thank you! The Gripen is one of my favorite planes so I’ve tried to learn as much about it as I can but it’s a little hard since most of the stuff about it is of course still classified.
It's just a shame that they did a mod on the C version of the Gripen instead of the E
personally i think that the Meteor on the gripen mod is severely underperforming. it should have at least like 40km extra range and a longer burn time
Could it be underperforming because we usually see it launched at low altitudes?
@@davedeville6540 no the max range on the Meteor is modeled to be 160km. thats what the code says. ik that low altitude will redoce range but the hardcoded range is ideal circumstances

Amazing job! You should try against an F-22 too, I think it's more OP in DCS (even if we don't know the real specs of these stealth aircraft). Even if the Felon is unrealistic in DCS, in a real-life scenario it's still a very good strategy for keeping them busy in case of a bigger operation. Maybe it also could be video material in the future :)

Stealth isn’t like an on off switch. It’s not black and white. The SU-57 is definitely a stealthy (in comparison with all +4th gen planes) airframe but compared with the other 5th gen fighters it will most likely be a less stealthy aeroplane (like the f-35). Edit: what the SU-57 has what other stealthy jets don’t have are two low frequency (the type of radar optimized for spotting stealthy airplanes) in his primary wings. This gives the su-57 (in theory) the edge over other jets in detecting other stealthy jets. This is not to be underestimated as the US primarily focuses on air assets for defeating other planes while Russia uses its integrated air defence network (s-400, pantsir-S1, etc.). Therefore when two stealthy jets find themselves in the same area, it may be that the f-35 is more stealthy and in theory would have an edge over its counterpart in detection range, but when the less stealthy airplane has a better radar for countering stealth it may be that no one of both would have the edge over the other in detection range.

Meteors in DCS don't even try to look realistic - instant turns and ability to fly sideways makes everything a comedy
The Meteor is a mod and not an official module.
@@MD-wn4ui I know. Same for lots of other stuff in DCS.
Maybe relative to the plane it looks like it's flying sideways, but it's actually turning to climb and follow the plane. And just like a plane, when it's cranking hard for a corner/climb it will 'drift' to some extent (and loose speed), which might look like flying completely sideways.
@@fwijffels object have structural limitations on force that can be applied to them, especially if the force applied across their axis. Planes may lose their wings and missiles may just brake in half if angle of attack is to high, and meteors in DSC turn like there no air around.
We have no viable specs to reply on but in DCS it even looks way to quick
@@tsorevitch2409 I don't think you understand relative context. Both in understanding that the missile you saw in this video was not actually flying as sideways as it looks, and in understanding that structural limitations are met in very different ways in low altitudes vs high altitudes.
Funny thing is Russia happens to have only between 3-15 SU-57’s produced, analysts believe its 3. So you may have killed 1/3 of Russias 5th gen air force.

Stealth is not really the correct word. It’s a buzzword to explain the concept. Low Observable (LO) is the real word and the SU-57 is definitely LO at most angles. If IRST really worked or stayed working it truly would negate the stealth concept since the heat of the leading edges would glow like a beacon in the colder skies.
That's kinda what stealth is though. Stealth isn't invisibility, it's just something that's hard to notice.
Yup...in reality 'stealth' is a sliding scale....some aircraft are stelthier than others.....and stealth isn't just about radar return....it's about your infra-red heat signature.....your electronic outputs and even the acoustic signature of the aircraft.....

Well mate Su-57 isn't stealth because stealth aircrafts do not exist. All fifth generation fighter jets have reduce RCS (radar cross section) and this RCS depend of lot of equations. Its not simple as we think it is. So for Su-57 all around RCS (it was published by Russians-MoD of RF) is 0.3m2. All around so probably from front is smaller, but from sides is bigger not just for Su-57 but for all planes no mater they are fifth or four gen. So Su-57 is plane with small RCS and its called real name Love visible objects not stealth...

I don't know _how_ good, exactly, and obviously, you don't want to give away _all_ the data and specs on your fighter, but it seems to be a great demo tool for things like, e.g. the RWR in the Gripen. Besides the audible launch warning, the screen also shows you (seemingly) which contacts on it are missiles and even which non-missile contacts just launched on you.
As an aside, love the Gripen's tail livery.
Maybe its also a program to train AI algorithms.
