Hey guys.
In this DCS World Simulator video I'm finally taking on the F22 Raptor with the SU27 Flanker (thanks to Parallax for the help with this video)
That was one of the best dogfights I ever had in the Flanker hands down.
I really pushed it to the limit and I hope you guys enjoy!
I love playing simulators, I started with Arma 3 and then I saw DCS World. I also enjoy War Thunder , Battlefield , Ghost recon, Squad , Rome total war, Microsoft Flight Simulator and more. I also enjoy World War II games including il-2 In DCS World i found all the jets that i wanted to fly in a simulator the F 16 Viper , FA 18 Hornet , F 15 Eagle , A 10 Warthawg , SU 27 , Mig 29 , P 51 , Spitfire , AH 64 Apeche , Heuy and more... And if you will download MODs the options are endless: F 22 Raptor, SU 57 , A 4 Skyhawk , SR 71 Blackbird , Rafale, Gripen and the list goes on.

@@LongShotChannel You're doing real dog fights. Like in BMS Falcon 5. Please try the Su 33, ACS overrides done properly pull great. Testing the planes to their limits lets us see what they do.

Really had the "Just one more game" vibe going, and you could really see him improving with every round. It was just a matter of time until he would get the kill on the F-22. And he pulled through, over at least 10 rounds. That's some dedication right there!

Well I doubt you noticed right. I see other videos of US, and EU jets fighting Russian, and what I noticed is that they probably chose 6 year old kids to fly Russian jets. They don't defend, they are late with countermeasures, maneuvering lame. This one seems hard fought and pretty much realistic@@helleye4745
Absolutely LOVED this one - one of my favorites! Your play-by-play is very effective and creates an experience perhaps a little bit TOO immersive - I find myself grabbing the arms of my chair , straining as I lean to avoid getting hit and sometimes even scream when we do get hit!

You should add flaps to your list of things to use for tighter turns or when you need to pull harder. You also need to press the deflection limit override to get more rudder authority. When in direct fcs (cobra button) and using the DLO you will be able to roll quite nicely even at 100kts and at high aoa.
Gotta use all the tricks!

in 12:00 I think that throwing flares where the plane crashed and exploded is like throwing flowers on a grave, I think that movement is a kind of respect for the enemy plane.

The last 4 rounds, especially, where fantastic... Gary Player, one of the best golfers of his day, once said: "The more I practice, the luckier I get"... This is true with anything in life. The more we do something, the more we get used to it, the better we get at it, without thinking to much about it!
The last three rounds make a much better representation of 4th gen vs 5th gen dogfight than Maverick did. Especially last one - epic big-screen worthy scene right there, with the whole "the hero gets hit, but gets a gun kill in a damaged plane".
OH MAN THIS VIDEO! Total-Complete-Uber ecstasy those last 3 kills my gosh. Amazing! that cobra deserves an award

Proof that even a Raptor will avoid a merge at all cost. Lawyers tell you to never talk to cops, even if you are innocent... and fighter pilots will tell you never voluntarily go to the merge, even if you are driving an F-22. Great work as usual Longshot. Your aggressiveness in the air is impressive. You see something could work based on the overlapping flight envelopes of the two jets and you just go for it. Nice! Well done indeed.
yeah dogfighting is pretty much dead imo. fox 3s have become way too powerful. 5th gen fighters are never going to make it to the merge. Still a fun video though.
The fact that such a dominant one circle fighter like a Flanker is defensive 99% of the time and gets killed in less than 5 turns in many fights, man that Raptor is a beast. Glad you didn't try the 2-circle with the Raptor, that's just suicide unless you're a Viper

This was basically my experience fighting 1v1s with the F16 in the F5. Dude was scared for no reason saying the f5 is some great aircraft when he had better flicas, better thrust to weight, better missiles, and gunsight, and effectively was me but better at everything so it came down to pilot shit on the deck transition. My only kills were maneuver kills lol skill issue! Good fights LS way to underdog it and show us how its done 👏
what does that teach us?
Pilot makes a huge difference. The way you know your plane, the way you squize maneuverability out of it, and the way you know when to launch a missle and when not - this is the way you can stay alive an any dogfight against any enemy

Push it more. Get in Su-33 heavy navy fighter and do the same against F-22, then against Su-57 Felon, and then find someone even harder to fight towards

This is so epic- this is some of your best flying ever! been watching you rack up fancy flanker maneuvering skills , glad to see you using the Flanker more!
We saw GS not long ago take the Flanker against the raptor ,and in a similar manner, after a while started racking up kills eventually against it-
It's crazy but true, with a 4th gen plane - if it has a niche strength it can compete with something more advanced- and that Raptor has insane nose pointing, low-speed control, and good turn rate- (and something about being able to loosen it's flight control system)- but the Flanker + felon series has the infamous AOA switch "cobra switch" that they can disable and then pull 120 degrees AOA, for instant nose pointing and Fox two shots- And the Raptor's strength is it's nose pointing, but the Flanker using that ability can match the Raptor's nose turn l- at least as long as it's speed is decent, since it takes a Su 30/35/37 variant to have thrust vectoring /thrust weight to do it continuously at slower speeds.
Nontheless, you did just that, and it was incredible watching you get closer and closer, and not panic shoot and come in at the right speeds- I SWEAR that Raptor pilot was starting to make more and more mistakes every time you evenly one-circle passed him, Longshot over here putting the fear in Raptor pilots! And the ultimate one- that Cobra overshoot maneuver- looks like the Cobra can be more useful than most thought. extreme AOA helps to fight extreme AOA opponents... Yeah, your practice paid off- Though i suspect this would also improve your Felon and Raptor skills too, if they can 'disable' their AOA limiter as well
So now do we get to see you do this in a Su-30/35/37 against a Raptor or Felon or other Flanker? :P

@@heatblast876 nope, only Grinelli has it and they don't even plan to release it. The normal Raptor has no TVC
The biggest mistake you were making was pointing your nose down. I would never do that against the raptor because as soon as it is above you it can do whatever it wants and will kill you. Additionally sometimes you would roll the long way around, when you could roll the other way in the one circle and spend more time actively turning instead of rolling.
Very entertaining. I love your reinforcement of the definition of insanity, trying the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome! but now and then even a blind squirrel finds a nut!

15:10 That was pretty impressive there using the Cobra to force an overshoot. Not often that happens. Let alone using it successfully to get a kill. Even more impressive that it's against an F-22.

But still if longshot himself has a definite reason that would be helpful.
Growling sidewinder has a really heavy machine that can do Ray tracing and all but longshot videos seems rendered in higher quality or re rendered.
"Wasting missiles"? You mean "shedding unnecessary weight"... 😜 All kidding aside, that was a fantastic turnaround.

Great stuff is a given when it's a Longshot in a flanker video but that was something special. Impressive kills, but equallly that ability to keep going, regain composure and use what you'd learned did/didn't work in earlier rounds rather than letting frustration take over. (Also yes, that flare pass was almost as disrespectful as it was just plain cool to watch)
