Visiting some of the most interesting cities in Germany, Hungary the Czech Republic and Austria.
Including Heidelberg, Munich, Salzburg, Vienna, Budapest, Prague.
You will find these fascinating places are loaded with wonderful attractions. We're presenting a summary of the trip showing you how you can do it. See more information about the tour, which is open to the public, on our website: toursbytrain.com/
We love to travel by train in Europe. More comfortable than a bus, less hassles than flying, with lots of nice scenery gliding by.
Another popular way to travel here is the river cruise, but the problem is you only stay in the city for a day or less. So you really don't see that much on a river cruise.
Traveling by train gives you that flexibility to stay in a city for two or three days, as we do in our trip, producing a more authentic in-depth experience. Jump to city by clicking timecode

I'm glad to hear from you, thanks. This is one of my better case studies of a complete tour, similar to my trip summaries of Barcelona to Rome bit.ly/2JB8Fab and Rome to London bit.ly/2JzdTmW and Switzerland bit.ly/2Gff5tw

Damn, I really missed these european cities so much, hope to visit them soon!
I lOVE that part of Europe. It really is dreamland. Prague resembled Salzburg in many ways. I have yet to visit Prague but what was showed in this video was very similar in my opinion.
Yes Tim!!
And do not forget Budapest!
Do you have a travel friendly job? Really enjoy your content!
He runs a tour company out of Hawaii, I'm pretty sure.
Yes, I've been leading tours of Europe for 32 years, taking small groups from Hawaii where I live, and shooting lots of video along the way. My travel movies are based on this experience, learning how to get around and discovering which sights, restaurants and activities are the most interesting, with lots of research for my street talks and video narrations. The trips are open to everyone. In the early years I would lead four annual trips, but now I'm just doing it once each year, staying home to edit more movies for you.
How many days the trip
Can you recommend less expensive hotel at Salzburg Austria
How did you book the ticket please?
Odd question... What walking shoe do you prefer to walk the streets of the European towns of men?
I wear New Balance running shoes, 990 series.
Price of train ride, hotels etc
How much it would cost ( food, transport & budget hotel for a group of four occupying single room )to cover all these cities ? Pl give an idea.
It is impossible to answer because there are so many different levels you can travel at, from no stars to 5-deluxe. Considering that, I suppose for upper-medium level on an 18-day trip per person would be at least $5,000 US dollars. Food and booze is a big variable also. If you are trying to pack four people into one room (which many hotels cannot provide) it suggests you don't want to spend much money, so good luck with that.
Did you make it to a beergarden or a heuriger?
Many Munich videos here including in various restaurants and biergarten czcams.com/play/PL45EDF6543229A8DB.html
5:15 enite city was destroyed by the Americans in WW2. so almost everything that you see is a postwar reconstruction. the same goes for majority of German cities
You should have stopped over in Bratislava. You missed something.
🤣 i was about to ask. How he managed to skip whole Slovakia and them being excited by 18th century german building 🙄.
@@xcoool I lived in Bratislava for the better part of 3 years. What a wonderful city full of wonderful people and the best food item in Europe - Halusshky (spelled differnt in Slovak)
Go walk in Liechtenstein
Dennis, the visuals are good and so is the substance. Nothing particularly insightful but more than sufficient for ordinary tourists. With respect, just a bit of constructive criticism; the narration is an almost mechanical sing song, the same up and down intonation, with almost no variation beyond that. It sounds unnatural. Your narration would be so much more engaging if you could speak in a more normal manner. Occasionally you drop the sing song style and instantly you are more interesting. For example when in Salzburg there is a clip you recorded on the street. You sound natural and real. Then you go back to the voiceover narration and right back to the A B A B A B A B A B up and down, almost like a cheerful robot. Just my two centavos. But otherwise keep up the good work.
Dear Dennis Callan, Feb. 2019.
My wife and I have Downloaded your CZcams clips for a few years and enjoy them.
Butttttt, please not too many "SELFIES", as as a cinematographer I don't do it at all. Also please do have a few seconds of silence.
And for Nicolleta, he does "run" an Hawaiian travel business.
God bless,
Juan Carlos, an 83 yo in Brisbane, Australia..

Thanks for watching and commenting, Juan. I do try and find places for silence in the narration, but want to keep the viewer informed...I will look for more of those chances to pause for a moment, which makes it easier for me anyway -- writing and narrating is the hardest part. Some travel filmmakers egotistically put themselves on camera all the time, which is pathetic. I only show up once in a while so the viewer knows who is doing all this non-stop talking.
It’s ok Dennis to show yourself so that we can put a voice to a face!!
You stop in Salzburg - but not a mention of Mozart?!?
Check 7.30
wonderful video, brilliant narration, thank you so much, superb
