Tip: book with the Czech railway. Your ticket would’ve been like 50€ and not 135€
What's their official website?
@@IbrahimLucas 50€ is for first class. I tried to check the price for business class right now and it says Ł90 or 103€.
Not necessarily. International pricing can very quite a bit and while you certainly can get a great deal, the closer you are to the departure, the closer the prices between ČD and ÖBB will be. Business Class pricing is simply a standard 1st class ticket with a fixed supplement fee.
@@VladimirLukele Thanks, but that wasn't my question tho.
@@IbrahimLucas I send answer with the way how to find it but I can see it's gone. Don't know why. Stupid YT
Nicky dealing with precariously perched objects and dropping things was the representation I needed in the media.
You should mention that Austrian Railways offers MASSIVE discounts if you book a week+ in advance. The ticket you had would cost only 45 Euro in "Sparschiene", which gets it right on par with the other provider.
That doesnt matter because you can't book buisnees class in the railjet via internet. You have to pay extra for it on bord the train
@@Craigstatch The last time I took the train was 3 months ago, and back then you could easily book Business Class via the Internet. (The way to do it was to book First Class and then add a seat reservation for Business Class to that.) Would surprise me if that had changed recently
@@Craigstatch - incorrect: I have just booked business seats in advance.
@@Craigstatch No, that's not how this works. Never was. If they have available seats you CAN upgrade in the train, that much is true. But it'd be a very bonkers business scheme to ONLY be able to upgrade. Of course the ÖBB sells tickets for all classes online. Bought more than one myself. The only reason I can think of why you wouldn't be able to book them online is because there were no more seats available.
I've travelled on that exact Rejiojet train, in Business from Vienna to Budapest, I can confirm the seat does have a recline function of sorts. You sort of have to manually slide the bottom section of the seat out so it "reclines"
If you also fully "recline" the seat infront of you you have a good bed.
I just wanna say that I'm Czech, so super stoked to see one of our rail companies featured 🙂
Im Hungarian and take the Regio regularly, I’m excited too!!! 😍
Oh, you know, all of ČD, Regiojet and Leo Express are excellent. Austria and the Czech republic offer high-quality train services. Central Europe is markedly superior to Western Europe in this respect.
@@yagi3925 "Central Europe is markedly superior to Western Europe in this respect." Well at least until you take a German or Slovak train 💀💀
@@serebii666 I've taken lots of trains in Slovakia - so what? As for Germany, they have crappy train "service", that's right, but I'd hardly call Germany a Central European country. It's in Western Europe. Germany's Deutsche Bahn is in my opinion an epitome of Western arrogance - and failure.
@@yagi3925 Germany is literally where the concept of Central Europe (MittelEuropa) was formed. It is very peculiar that you separate Germany from Austria or Czechia as being somehow geographically or culturally dissimilar, especially since they were one political entity for most of the past 1000 years. Germany is literally still the engine of Central Europe, to which of the other countries in the region depend on and are influenced by.
That being said, Germany, like Slovakia, are good examples of what happens when you fundamentally underinvest in your national services and infrastructure, especially on a platform of austerity.
I took RegioJet last year. You can get a slice of cake for just €0.40! Yup, 40 cents for a delicious cake. You can't even buy that in the station
Sadly not anymore. It costs €1 from the beginning of October.
@@shakeinfearoh you most definitely still can.
I did first class in railjet from Graz to Vienna. Completely worth it (plus STUNNING views).
As somebody already mentioned you can save some money if you buy Railjet tickets from Czech Railways site. Anyway I prefer Railjet... It's newer, more comfy and they take better care about their cars. You can see even from video that Regiojet is bit dirty/sticky. Definitely not bad considering the price, but still team Railjet.
One very important difference between the 2: Railjet is a High speed train that can operate on fully dedicated High Speed Lines through Europe & Austria maxing out at 140 miles per hour | The RegioJet has a Siemens vectron Locomotive (it usually uses) & due to its coaches can only reach 115 Miles per hour. | Railjet charges a premium for 2 reasons | Its a luxurious service marketed for business travelers even in economy, and it has to use & can use HS lines (high speed lines) thus being faster than any other rail service on that route.
Thank you for this explanation. Appreciated.
However there is as of yet no HSR between Vienna and Prague, so for some routes the premium "higher speed" price doesn't make sense
That’s not true, you won’t find a high-speed line between Vienna and Prague. Regiojet is actually 1 minute faster.
Railjet trains and other trains are limited to a top speed of 99mph within the Czech Republic. There are few exceptions, certain Pendolino but none reach 140mph on Czech territory
Unfortunately there aren’t any high speed rails between Vienna and Prague and in the whole Czechia at all.
You can try Prague -> Ostrava by train.
In this route we have 3 companies (CD, Regiojet and Leoexpress) and three difrent trains (Pendolino, Regiojet have that same and Leoexpress) 😅
Love it, I needed this video today I think one of your best so far.
Make sure you checkout our Tokyo budget battle! czcams.com/video/_nlz_bv5Piw/video.htmlsi=dmyrvGbt7y0yo7c7
Hi guys. I want to say I was the railjet train driver. i hope you enjoy my drive to the prague.
Nice comparison! However, between Prague and Wien, there is only one Austrian Railjet per day, other connections are served by Czech Railjets (blue ones). They are almost identical but blue ones have a Czech restaurant which is higher rated than the Austrian one (though I love both), they also have a worse Business class seat composition, fewer 1st class seats and more bike spaces - the economy class is identical. So that's good to know before booking. Like with airlines, it's the same exact train but the different operators had slightly different configurations when they ordered the trains from Siemens.
Also, there are newer "Interjet" trains on some domestic routes in Czechia and there will be new Railjets 2.0 very soon and this time there will be even more differences between the Austrian and Czech ones. The Czech new ones will go all the way from Prague to Copenhagen from 2026.
The economy class is identical but there's a fifth 2nd class coach.
ÖBB has similar compositions as well. Mainly for services to Italy.
Great video! Just a side note, the business seats in RegioJet do recline, and quite a lot. Brilliant to see you showing what Austria and the Czech Republic have to offer!
Thank you for having you! Best regards your waitress in the railjet!
Good video, thanks. Have travelled a lot on Austrian trains🇦🇹, sometimes in 1st class. Can't remember them being that expensive if booked in advance...but they were mostly internal Austrian services, or to Munich 🚆
That can't be a coincidence! OMG, it's you read my mind! Me and my best friend just booked our holiday plane tickets for November to go to Vienna, and from there to take THAT route to Prague, and then back again!!
126€ is a bargain for 4hours compared here in Switzerland you paid a minimum for 1hour train FirstClass 60 to 70CHF without food or any kind of amaneties 😂. I would take both train next time when I am in Wien 🔥🔥
Fun fact: The RegioJet coaches are actually old ÖBB coaches.
Would love to see you review the ÖBB's famed Nightjet!
I did travel from Budapest to Munich by nighttrain in 2016 and it was all booked via ÖBB, since Deutsche Bahn do not offer night services anymore _ I was very pleasantly surprised by the good service altogether. Twas a good experience
@@Danny30011980 "Twas"... love it!
Yusssss! Vienna to Prague! The video i been wanting for a while.
Just wanted to comment: After watching you for years now, it was a nice surprise to see your brand painted on the outside of the Delta planes I flew last month!
I prefer OBB Railjet. It just has a better experience overall. 😉👍🏻
Always great gents
Omg I knew it! I take that RegioJet between Budapest and Vienna regularly, and on the vvvvvery day you traveled on Regio VIE-Prague, my mom was on the same train and got off at Vienna. She was actually looking for you two cos I guessed you might take Regio service but she couldn’t see you cos of the huge crowds. 😢
Where’s Jean gone?
Nicky's very private compartment was nicely set up, but Liam's wasn't that bad! If Nicky's was deserving of an A, Liam's would get no less than a B. I don't think Nicky got something that was over three times better.
I love that train station! Maybe next time we’ll take the train to Prague 😊
Next time you should try the ČD Railjet, the on-board restaurant is better than on the ÖBB.
ČD Restaurant is better, but the business class seating on ÖBB railjet is better.
It is so funny to see, that Nicky and Liam are totally confused by First Class is lower than Business Class. I mean normally there is only two classes on trains - first and second.
Would be interesting to see you guys do a challenge in Germany, maybe north to south by different means of transport
I would go with the 35 quid option.
Comfy and descent food. that is all I need.
Love you liam! Looking so cute!
Have a similar dilemma to choose who to travel with between Vienna and Budapest. Think I'll go with Regiojet
Go with the railjet but book it with Hungarian railways. They have an app, it’s just as cheap, and much nicer (and far more likely to be punctual)
@@AnnoKitsune both railjet and regiojet have free WiFi… but railjets WiFi works a bit better generally
Often Regio is cheaper, especially on Tuesday and Wednesday. Other days you’ll have to check, but Regio’s timetable is quite limited :(
You guys need to compare the 3 rail operators that are doing the HSL between Madrid and Barcelona: Renfe, Iryo and Ouigo
Hi - I was wondering what the name of the tune is which plays from 2:06 until 2:18? cool tune but Shazam app did not recognize the tune. Would appreciate info! Thanks!
Thank you for the great comparison. Where do you suggest to buy the ticket of Austrian Railjet? Is Rail Ninja reliable/legitimate?
I went in business for 40€ a few years ago, it depends on the departure and when you buy your ticket.
The fanning 😂
Great video
"even this sort of litlle egg..cake.. thing" best bit lol
Didn‘t expect such an inner European connection. All the more: wellcome back to Europe ; )
I’m sooooo happy they’ve done this 😍 hope they come to BUD sometime 😍
I got over any enthusiasm for RegioJet when I saw how filthy that socket was!
in czech railways, the first class is just an upgrade from second class - the normal one. However, the business product is far superior then first class and only offered on a few routes. A bit confusing, but first class is in every train and not as special
OBB RailJet looks soo good and so much better
But its not
You guys should definitely review the Trenitalia Executive class on the Frecciarossa train in Italy.
They already did.
I am also a Railjet fan but I have to admit I am positively surprised by the RegioJet service in the video, especially for the price.
What is also important to say, Regiojet has its own app, where you can order food and drinks just by paying with your card and it will be brought to you. Does not work all the time, mostly on longer journeys but still, the service is the best in Czechia by default.
more austria vids pleaaase (absolutley biast im austrian)
Couldn’t agree more, n I’m your neighbor! 😍 (I’m from Hungary)
Agree... spent some time as a student working in Austria 🇦🇹...Neusiedler See, Burgenland...
Austria is great..
BTW RegioJet Business Class use to include free Champagne - has that stopped?
Anyone know the outro song? really love it xD Thanks!
Goodness...what a huge difference to to the appalling rail 'service' we get in the UK. We are all being mugged off 😢
Or US! 🇺🇸 Here I am in Ohio watching this to learn for an upcoming trip and I am overwhelmed because we have nothing for public transportation and this is like WOW! I hope I just make it onto the correct train.
I mostly using Regiojet to Košice from Prague cause price.. even if they don't have newest cabin the 9 hours way isn't so bad.. for that low price RegioJet it not bad at all :D (and also one slide of cake for 1e) the seats in business are recline and propably if u book seat on opposit site you could even lie dow
0:11 CHAOTIC TRAVELLING DUO HAS ENTERED THE CHAT
for your next trip you should try the czech regiojet
Obviously use what ever is cheaper. But if you are price concous, business class (which is above first class or an addon to first class with both operators) is propably not your best choice? I usually travel railjet in first class and I think it is good enough. Even second class is fine and comfortable, the advantage of first class is there are single seats and there is extra legroom and in place service. If you do work on the train, it may be worth it. I had business class before and it is even a bit better but I dont really think you need that.
7:05 I want Nicky Kelvin ASMR to be a different segment. It’s not disgusting. Quite the contrary 🌝
Surprised railjet charged you for food. I used their business class service from Budapest to Salzburg a few months ago and all food and drinks were included with the ticket.
Liams smile at the beginning it looked… like he was going to murder nicky poor nicky😂😂
I wonder what would you guys say about Vienna - Frankfurt travel with Deutschebahn
Liam: “I’m not as hot as you.”
Me, an Intellectual: “Yup. Yup.”
As I experienced Regio Jet's first class seats can recline.
I do expect business different to first, first should really be for leisure passengers and business for... well business.
nice
35 vs 126, easy choice.
Come to Germany and have a ride on the First Class ICE train. Firstly you can be happy if it’s on time (which is highly unlikely), then they squeeze six people into one cabin. If you’re taller than 1,80m you can barely stretch your legs.
4:18 The Question is: Was the head rest Pluffy?
fun
i’ll tell you without even watching - regio jet is the bomb! i am always super happy traveling with them, and the food on board, i could not believe the quality for the price my mind - BLOWN, you would never guess it’s microwave food (i had no idea until i saw them make it in the kitchen) and it’s literally 2 euros for a risotto and 40 CENTS!!! for a piece of cake, unbelievable for anywhere in europe
also i once took regio jet bus from prague to amsterdam which was like 15 hours and i didn’t feel that tired at all, i could not believe the quality of those seats, they’re comfortable, spacious, lean way back, have a plug in socket AND usb c… just amazing
Why Nicky always tries for the most expensive ones I want to know 😅
You must try Hungarian MÁV!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I travelled both, and for me 100% regiojet you can recline the seats fully flat ( when theres no other people) and its much cheaper + you Got Free prosseco, OBB not worth it
Fun fact the Regiojet coaches are the old öbb coaches
Regiojet is fantastic, I’ve used them a few times. I’ve also used RailJet which are also brilliant, but money wise Regiojet win hands down.
I think Liam is hotter but he is in marketing lmao so it makes sense if you think about it 😂
You travel in the öbb railjet business thats not the same than first in regio jet you should also travel 1st class with öbb so the ticket gets cheaper
The seat in the Railjet is actually Business Class.
im from prague
Wait. So are you in Prague?
Yes, I live here.
For a distance about 254 km, 4 hours and 15 minutes times taken from vienna to prague is quite slow...if drive a car i think is much faster😅😅😅😅
254 km is an air distance, by rails it’s 430 km.
By car Vienna to Prague can easily take more than 5 hours (depending on traffic).
many services, esp the rails...puts business class above first class...maybe business sounds cool???
in czech railjet is probably cheaper restaurant car btw
i as a Wiener (person from wien, i refuse to translate names) person dont see this as fair, if you look at prices the cheapest regular ticket at oebb sets you back a 53 € (second class) so it isnt a fair comaprison, pricewise.
I havent been using ÖBB for years if i dont get a sparschiene ticket.
Rail in Austria usually isnt worth theyre price ( just compare flixbus to rail offers) and you will see.
You pay here more for a faster train to prague that can't go faster beacuse there aren't highspeed tracks between Wien and Praha.
Tip the Business Class in the Railjet is too expensive, just buy normal first class. That would make it cheaper probably only 60-70 Euros and the only difference is That you arent in a cabine so your Business secrets can be heard all over, thats the only upside of the Buisness class in the Railjet
yayyyyy Českooo
As a person from slovakia that was on both trains i would say regiojet is deff better bcs of price but when ur a milionare then railjet is better
You really overpaid for the railjet. The tickets can be bought significantly cheaper in presale.
4:18 seat is reclined...
Actually, those seats do recline. A lot.
Second 😂
The only problem is that you are comparing Austrian Railjet which is the only rail service provider available in Austria with Regiojet which is only one of three national rail service providers.
ÖBB is not the only rail provider in Austria though. There are several regional providers, and even for long-distance there is a second operator on Austrian rails.
Always better take Czech (Blue-White) RailJet - much better train . more comfy than the Austrian one... PRICE ALSO DIFFERS SIGNIFICANTLY - IF YOU BUY BY ČD OR OBB !!!!
QUICK EXAMPLE - I BOUGHT TICKET BY ČD FOR 40 EUR - BUT SAME TICKET FOR THE VERY SAME TRAIN OPERATED BY ČD BUT BOUGHT BY OBB WAS 80 EUR!!! DOUBLE!!!!!!
RESULT?? ALWAY BUY BY ČD - AS THE PRICE IS 50% CHEAPER!!! FOR THE EXACT SAME TRAIN "RAILJET"
The price mainly depends on how much of the seats allocated to each company are already sold out.
Background: each company pre-allocates about half of the train, so that the two booking systems don't have to communicate and there can be no double-bookings. The same is true for basically every train that is operated by multiple companies/countries, e.g. also if you travel between Austria (ÖBB) and Germany (DB); so it's always worth checking the prices from all operators.
Still prefer Austrian Airlines...😉
Hell no
Yup, 30 min. instead of 4,5h
@@altavelmcnamara it will never beat the scenic and relaxing way of traveling by train on these kind of stretches. Speed isn't everything.
@@paulthiel5145 For me speed is everything.
@@altavelmcnamara then we clearly live in 2 different worlds.
