"I think this is the best song we have. It's about a friend who got raped. The idea is that the experience doesn't make you dirty and shouldn't cause shame. So don't hide in your house or under your coat, come back out, the song counsels. It's the archetypal Third Eye Blind song." -- said by Stephan Jenkins himself about "Wounded" in the "A Collection" CD liner notes/ song descriptions.
I bought this album while working at Goodwill for 2.99 minus my 20 percent employee discount. It was a steal. My summer soundtrack that year lol. This song and 1000 Julys are my favorites off of it.
Definitely their best song, very moving. Makes me emotional every time it’s my all-time favorite song out of all genres. Amazing band, I hope I get to see them live, someday
This song is a flat out masterpiece. It still gives me chills to listen to it. Wounded and God of Wine. Knocked it out of the park with both those songs.
I appreciate this band, but I have heard many people over the years hate on them because of their many drug references. I believe that the emotion captured in their music stems directly from their life experiences, many of which involved the use of different drugs.
I love third eye blind & nearly all of there songs for the obvious reasons, however this song has a very special meaning to me, in 2016 they were performing in the UK so I happily went to see them live in london… was so excited but at the back of my mind there’s always that lingering doubt whether it will exceed your massive expectations - anyway, the band opened to this song & it was everything & more, the night was just perfect & the band will always hold a special place in my heart
AGAIN, my life story. everytime. how many times can this band do this to me ?? it never stops. I LOVELOVELOVE 3eb !!!!!!!!! they kill me all at the same time
This song makes me appreciate being wounded. Like beating up a douche. A couple of wounds to remind me that it was a good struggle that I won. I know its weird.
i love this song, but it has such a conflicting message. basically "i can't imagine how you're feeling, but get over it and come drink w us anyway"... which can be a really cool thing for friends to do, but idk.
It just hits wrong for a man to write a song about a girl who was physically and sexually abused, especially about what she should be doing and should be fine having sex with him. Just...no.

I gathered that.
do you know if the 2006 or 2008 remaster is better or just the original
This song helped heal my soul several years ago. So grateful for it ♡
Is this maybe their most underappreciated song?

why dont people hate on many rappers with their casual talk of drugs?
this band spans my entire teens and 20s....the best i could hope for

I wish someone, a friend would care like that.

Hello The End (of the worlders) 🍯
The band He Is Legend does a great cover of this song. I actually like it way better tbh.
Oh yeah. But it's winter tho.
@lifefills You're welcome
pour it out boys
Not saying you're wrong (because I don't know for sure), but where did you get that from? Your own analysis, or...? It sounds legit.
nice

before rap.
Blastoff
funny how so many people have missed that the lyrics are about either sexual or domestic abuse.
I believe it's just abuse over all. Who knows. Good song tho.
to what's-her-face-mcgee:
Get over it.
sincerely, that one Guy
Heya. Lyrics are wrong. It’s : you say you don’t know. You says here we go now. All I know is we’re missing you. Repeat.
maybe they just never payed much attention to the lyrics?... iono
What happened to them? I guess they all got married and had kids.
They still doing great albums one of the latest is Ursa Major and I still love their songs on that Album
the song's about charlize theron, who stephen was seeing at that time. She was physically abused by his alcoholic father.
🤍

Jenkins is a good songwriter but the lyrics are bit teenage and hamfisted.
Twitter.
Broken into prices that can't be healed
Reminds me of my whole life
