I mean it takes months to catch up, is it just the benefits of always have shopped at thrift stores? I swear I'll never forget the button indents on my skin from when I grew a little too much. I feel crazy haha why is everyone so shocked
yep, as an hour glass bordering on pear shape, I've been doing this to all my strides since I was about 12 or 13 years old... and that's a loooong time... ;))
🤣🤣good one. Except The jeans I bought don't have these belt things to put the belt through (sorry I don't know what they are called 😅). This helped me out a lot
A girl in my class did this (but with the string on the outside I’m guessing it’s bc she didn’t wanna cut her jeans) and our teacher (a lady) came up to her and said “I didn’t realize that was a shoe lace, I thought we had a thong situation going on” 😭
Maybe I’m going insane but why do I remember having straps to help with this built into my jeans when I was younger? And why the hell can’t the adults have them?
i remember having them! i think they don’t put it in adult ones bc kids are constantly growing and going through puberty/growth spurts, so instead of buying new jeans constantly you can just adjust it on the inside. but it’s weird cos i started wearing adult jeans at the start of puberty cos i couldn’t fit into kids jeans anymore since i grew so fast.
I can't thank enough for this hack, being pear shaped body it's sometimes extremely difficult and gets baggy from back of the jeans but this truly works ❤ thanks a ton!
Or: how to make your jeans look gathered. It doesn’t appear like that for her, because it isn’t that big of a gap, but if the jeans were a little bit bigger or big enough to need a belt to stay up, it would make them look bunched up because they are essentially gathered
Perfect.. I came to the comments section to mention our age old nada, but glad to see you've already done the honours 😅 So many "innovative" ideas are so close to our traditional simple methods.. Now introducing, toothpaste with the magic power of charcoal.. All these face packs with the magic power of mud bath, charcoal cleansing, honey, lemon, rose water and what not... Arrey yahi sab toh hum barso se ghar pe karte aa rahe the.. entire generations got brainwashed into buying foreign products, forgetting our solid ancient wisdom.. 🤦♀️
I haven't heard of nada but this is closest thing I can find. Everyone else losing theirs minds over something I wear has always existed. Theyd have little holes to button them to size I live and always have lived in Alabama but we got out clothes from thrift stores. Hello! I'm a tailor and we do this often (with elastic instead, and it's obviously sewn down) and might k recommend a safety pin instead? It's more likely to stay when you push it through. Great video!
I feel like regardless it will be complicated to actually get the Bobby pin or safety pin to the other side…is there a trick for that? Cuz it will be hard to actually get a good grip ad pull it while it’s completely inside
@@ChotterChannel I try to find the longest safety pin I can (typically have a few 2 inchers laying around) and you really just have to inchworm the fabric along. Bunch as much of it onto the safety pin as you can, then hold the tip of the safety pin and pull the fabric to unbunch. There are some drawstring threader tools out there but its the same process. I don’t find them to be much better and a safety pin is easier for me to find.

@@MichelleWilliamsPewDiePie Agreed. I even worked at Levi’s for three years and this was a consistent problem. The reason that trick (or having the waist altered) works is because it literally changes the shape, where a belt squishes excess fabric together, creating folds and gaps.
Okay this is an advice that is going to help all the small waist out there ! Thank you !!!
this actually saved my life
Amazing. Now you even can use your belt to replace that missing lace in your shoe.
Women problems. Also imagine using ur front pockets but thats a story for another day... :DDD

some people dont like belts and you can also very much just buy extra shoelaces from the store, much cheaper than a belt 💀
I came in her to make some sort of belt comment, but yours was better. Who said women aren't funny?

This is essentially adding a waistband. Elastic and a button works well too, and you don’t have a knot digging into your belly.

I’m still stuck on trying to get that Bobby pin all the way through the waistline
Use a pen with cap or any long stick that you can tie the string in. Also even you can push the string in one bobby pin and even that is sufficient to push it through, but would be a little difficult to work with it.
I find a safety pin easier to use, you can prick the pin in two points, clip it safe and then pull it through the inside of the waistline of the jeans..
use a safety pin it helps
Yeah the idea that this is a hack. It takes ages. Only really necessary if you have patience. The gains are minimal for a lot of time used up.

@@dandcc9192 it’s cuz they’re uncomfortable & don’t go w a lot of outfits. They don’t even look good or sit right half the time. This solution is seamless and easy, plus, unlike a belt it stays in the pants 24/7

I was wondering the same thing. I don't know why they don't have it for adults.
First of all, you are not going insane, those are pretty common in kids jeans. For why adults don't have them, I have absolutely no idea
i remember having them! i think they don’t put it in adult ones bc kids are constantly growing and going through puberty/growth spurts, so instead of buying new jeans constantly you can just adjust it on the inside. but it’s weird cos i started wearing adult jeans at the start of puberty cos i couldn’t fit into kids jeans anymore since i grew so fast.

Or: how to make your jeans look gathered. It doesn’t appear like that for her, because it isn’t that big of a gap, but if the jeans were a little bit bigger or big enough to need a belt to stay up, it would make them look bunched up because they are essentially gathered

Perfect.. I came to the comments section to mention our age old nada, but glad to see you've already done the honours 😅
So many "innovative" ideas are so close to our traditional simple methods..
The British trashed our customs and culture to sell us their products.. e.g. koele aur namak se kaun daant maanjta hai bewakoof, hamara toothpaste use karo.. and toothpaste ads these days - kya aapke toothpaste mein namak hai? Now introducing, toothpaste with the magic power of charcoal..
All these face packs with the magic power of mud bath, charcoal cleansing, honey, lemon, rose water and what not...
Arrey yahi sab toh hum barso se ghar pe karte aa rahe the.. entire generations got brainwashed into buying foreign products, forgetting our solid ancient wisdom.. 🤦♀️
🤣🤣 right, fact that they are learning this now.
I haven't heard of nada but this is closest thing I can find. Everyone else losing theirs minds over something I wear has always existed.
Like I remember getting little button indents in my waist from the straps put through the pants. Theyd have little holes to button them to size
I live and always have lived in Alabama but we got out clothes from thrift stores.
Idk I feel a little crazy, everyone losing their minds over something I swear I've always had. Its cool to know its from India, are yalls button or straps you tie?
@@iamaperson4841 what they are talking about the nada you can think of a drawstring as an equivalent. So it's always tied. I used to have similar jeans where there was an elastic inside the waistband and it had buttonholes that you could adjust.

What’s a hack for making shorts legs narrower? I have skinny legs and my shorts fit my waist but are too big on my legs
Yes! Safety pin is much more reliable!
Belt creates a fold on the waist and that draws attention to how the waist isn’t the right size- which is the opposite of what you want. This fixes that.
Exactly Idk the people saying just use a belt like I have a big butt and I always have a gap a belt just makes it looks like I'm wearing jeans that aren't my size.
I definitely would struggle with getting the shoe lace through the pants. A belt would be better for me
I get u- I wrote a comment on someone else's comment talking about how belts aren't always what people want so I agree with u (also thank you for not being a member of the belt army in the comments)
For me also the same
Or just buy jeans that fit…..
I always say, having a true hourglass figure is a blessing… UNTIL it comes to buying jeans! 😂 I always have such a huge gap in the waist and even wearing a belt doesn’t look right because it bunches up. But if I try to size smaller, the jeans are way too tight on the hip/booty/thigh area…I will absolutely try this hack, thank you!!!

Greetings good sir.
Good day
Use a wire like a old hanger and feed it through then attach the shoe lace and pull it through probably easier
Don't attack it bruh the shoe lace did nothing wrong
Or yknow… a belt
Why waste a coat hanger or even a bobby pin when the plastic tip of the shoe lace makes lacing easy and far less likely to damage the fabric?
