I wouldn't donate the exotics. You will need all the exotic components from breaking them down. You can donate printer filament for the exotics. Just an FYI.

If you farm mod chips instead and break them down to printer filament, I think that'll be a faster route.

I've been doing that on summit solo with gear mods as targeted loot. You can get a ton of mods to breakdown into printer filaments
