Picked this up and was searching what to do then I found your video. I am gonna try this out 'brisket' style for some beef sandwiches. Great video and results. Thank you Ry!
Right at the beginning of the lockdowns, my roommate and I picked a sirloin tip roast from the butcher, since the line was out the door and a lot of normal cuts were selling out. Roasted it in the oven and sliced it thick for dinner. Sliced it cold all week for roast beef sandwiches. Hands down was the best cut of beef I've ever had. Haven't smoked one yet but I really look forward to it.
Hello Ry - I enjoy your channel. I am getting a new LSG 20x42 offset (like yours) in a couple of weeks. Been wondering about where you dispose of the water/fat/droppings that end up in the bottom of the smoker. After you drain it all out into a bucket of some sort, what do you do with it?...pouring the fat etc down the drain I think would mess up the plumbing...and could be a significant volume of liquid/fat. Please advise. Thanks.
Hi! Congrats on the LSG. I use one of those small disposable 2 gallon paint buckets from Home Depot to drain into. Then I mix in the ash from the firebox to create a sludge and the whole thing goes in the trash 👍
I pick these up sometime. I am always in a quandary about what to do with them. Thanks!
If you get them with the cap on (the way I prefer), you can put them on a spit and do it like picana, it's really excellent.
It's been awhile since you made a new post. I'm very happy to see you back again Ry. I love all your content on here you post. Your a great guy Ry. 😊

I made this Ry and I put some sour cream mixed together with a little horseradish on the bun and it was phenomenal!

I've done this before. makes for great chopped bbq sandwiches for cheap when it goes on sale for around $4lb. Used to be on sale for $3/lb.
Looks great, Ry!!
I like to use leftovers from this for chili. Delicious!

Next time ask them to split the whole tip along the seam. You will get two roasts with different characteristics in the marbling and grain.
Ry. Glad to see you back making videos. Just wondering what brand of kosher salt do you use.
Whatever is on sale. Either Diamond or Morton’s 😊
@@CookingWithRy same ratio whether it’s Morton or Diamond Crystal
@@johnwray449 I usually use Morton's, but if it's the Diamond Kosher I go a little less than double the amount by volume.
I put one in a crock pot. Much better than a chuck roast
How big was that roast?? Looks delicious though!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Nine pounds 😊
Hey Ry where did you buy this roast from?
My local Smart & Final.
