In this video, Dr. Berg talks about DIM, estrogen, and androgen. DIM is a super concentrated type of cruciferous vegetable extract. This phytonutrient concentrate helps support healthy estrogen levels and healthy androgen levels. It can act as an aromatase inhibitor.
Using DIM can help you balance your androgens because it acts as an androgen antagonist (antiandrogen).
    ANDROGEN EXCESS:
    -Facial hair
    -Oily skin
    -Hair loss (alopecia)
    -Cystic Acne

I want to share my experience. I am a 45 year old woman who has suffered from acne since she was 15 years old. I had tried countless treatments and nothing had eliminated the acne, after modifying my eating habits (Atkins, Paleo, only organic foods and now Keto (with fasting), my problem improved, but it had not been eliminated. Dr. Berg talked about DIM, I started taking it (about 2 months ago) and I had never seen my face without acne, I just can not believe it, thanks Dr Berg for sharing your knowledge.

I feel the video was rushed. I think there could have been a lot more information added, including what DIM is short for...Diindolylmethane. As someone who has PCOS, taking a DIM supplement has been a huge help for me. It has helped me have a regular, 28 day menstrual cycle for the first time in my life. It has also helped with hair loss and cystic acne.

I learned about it because of the acne I had and seeing websites recommend Estroblock. It was the first supplement that I tried with it but found it too expensive to continue so I kept looking. I've taken a few brands like Nature's Plus. Someone recommended the Vitamins Because brand (I buy from ebay) to save money and I've been using it for nearly 2 years now without any issues with a few other brands in between if my order hasn't arrived in time. I'd say in total I have been taking it close to 3 years. My acne wasn't wasn't severe. It was moderate and the breakouts I did have were very large and painful on my chin and cheeks. I don't get that anymore, but still do get a few minor pimples during my period.

I’ve been taking DIM less than one month, and my cycle was DRASTICALLY less severe that usual. I’ve had three children and I typically have 7 day long very heavy cycles, changing products hourly or even more frequently, even using the “super” or ultra products. This most recent cycle was incredibly light compared to previous cycles... no stress about leaving the house unprepared, no stress about bringing a change of clothes, etc., and aftee about 4 days it’s nearly finished. Incredible. My cystic acne has all but cleared up as well... now it’s just random blackheads, which is fine with me. So thankful to have found your channel, Dr. Berg. And so thankful you make your wealth of knowledge available for free!

I just want to say that DIM ended up getting rid of my stubborn acne. My left cheek/jaw had pimples that were not going away, and after a month of taking the supplement it cleared. My skin is still oily, I still have large pores and dark spots, but I haven't been too successful in sticking to the keto diet. However, I have started consuming vegetables with most of my meals. I am confident based on all the information that I have learned from you, that when I start doing keto correctly and not eating too much, I will see improvements. I also plan on using Vitamin E as you recommended for poc marks and scarring.

This supplement is not a joke. It did not reduce my androgens, but did further reduce my estrogens. This upset the balance in my body even more, and the result was a flare in ovarian cysts. One was so large that it twisted and I needed emergency surgery. I almost lost my only remaining ovary. Be careful with this stuff.

Julie Oelker doable for a few days a week but every day? I think it would take a lot of dedication & discipline to keep that up daily forever. Boring too. It wouldn't leave much room for other important foods we need. Better to take in supplement form & eat a moderate amount fresh along with the other vegies & foods we need

I am a men and have a cystic acne. I plan to give it a try however I see that a few months ago the formula was changed and there are a lot of complains about that. Will you return back the old formula or could you explain us why it was changed in such drastic way. Maybe you could just offer both of them, the cheaper one - the current formula, and the more expensive one - the old formula.

  • @rfrazar

Hi Dr. Berg, big fan of your videos! I recently purchased DIM through your site and I'm a little nervous to begin taking it, because it occurred to me that I may not have estrogen dominance and I'd want to be sure DIM would benefit me before taking it. I have hypo-thyroid, have seen high liver enzymes on blood tests a few years ago, have some random dark hairs on my chin and jawline, struggle with fatigue (probably adrenal fatigue), have noticed thinning hair in the past decade (I'm 35), BUT I don't have any acne whatsoever, no oily skin (super dry in fact), and I'm not overweight. So, I just was curious if DIM would mess with my hormone balance of if you think it's worth taking? Any advice you have would be much appreciated. Thank you so much!

I've been reading a lot on DIM lately, but unfortunately most of the research says it also lowers testosterone. I guess if you're a female, that's a nice perk. But I'm a guy and at the very least, I'd like my testosterone to stay where it's at. Still gonna take it until my 4 bottles are finished 😆😆
