- In this video I talk about the tactic of double jumping. It is vital double jumps are understood, for they lay the foundation of all checkers tactics.

Lol, was wonding whether you could jump someone straight forwards or straight sideways, but then realized that the checkers are all on the same coloured square so that impossible lol xD

At 0:59 can only kings do that jump where you can 2 pieces out at the same time or can the pawn do it to?
Great question! In this position, both a regular checkers piece, or a king can execute that double jump. Hope that helps!

Can you jump over one and then jump over one backwards with a regular checker or is that only kings
Hi Liam, in this game, you can only jump forward and backward if the piece is a king. There are other variants of checkers in which regular pieces can jump forward and backward. Hope that helps, and thanks for watching!

Hi Smetky -- no, in this variant of checkers, a king cannot fly across the board for a capture.

Yes, the entire jumping sequence must be made!
What about jumping over your own guys to get your opponent’s piece?
Hello! Nope, that is not allowed in this game.
After some thinking, I don't believe that is allowed in any variant of checkers (just about every country has its own checkers variant). I know this is possible in Chinese Checkers, but that is a completely different game. Thanks again for your question!
