Dave I’ve watched you for years pouring concrete. Another concrete job to perfection. I could almost name the jobs you have done. I’m sure like others I throughly enjoyed watching you build your personal home in Arizona down by the Colorado River. I can honestly say I’ve learned so much with each video when you give your personal tips. You explain yourself very well. I know you can’t go on forever and now and then we get to hear from your son on a job. He sure has master the pavers among others things. Stay healthy and God bless you and your family.
Nice to hear from you again.
Thanks for watching
It's a privilege for me to watch and listen to professional contractors like you and your team. Keep the videos coming sir.
Sure
Ty
So glad they have proper drains now. No more sandbag water dams. Most excellent Sir!
Me too
TY
Let's count our blessings! Glad Dave has been on the last few videos.
Me too and will continue as long as I have the work.
TY
You guys are the best in the west!
TY
Thank you to the whole Odell family for all of your hard work and good videos!
Thank you too!
Great job Dave and team. Top notch work. Nice to see your brother Doug out there with you too. Homeowners must have been happy with this one and the ability to ditch the sandbags! 💕👏👍
I'm sure they were.
OC Ready Mix and Lenny’s Pumping are true professional in the industry 👍🏽💯
I concur
Bloody freaking legend 👏 full sending never lifting 😏🤙mobbin deep 🙌 came out beautiful as useful Mr.Dave ty for the video have a good weekend
Really great video! I appreciate how you describe exactly what you and the crew are doing.❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love the videos. Happy Holidays.🎄

I didn't notice it had no gutters until you pointed it out, definitely cheap insurance to manage the water shed.
I concur.
Gutters get the majority of the water where you want it to go
Excellent quality concrete...so clean, love the curb...love this channel David...long time fellow contractor (Encinitas) and follower...brilliant!
Awesome, thank you!
You’re videos are very informative and You’re voice is very calming!
Keep up the Good work!
Glad you like it.

Good stuff Dave looks great nice work as always
TY
Sweet video 👍
Excellent craftsmanship... as always 👍
Thanks 👍 Drummer
Great job Dave. Haven't seen to many of your videos lately. They don't come up on my feed.
That's weird, I'll have to check in to that.
Ty
Great job on the video and narration, nice concise tight editing and dense with information.
It looks like you have a winning formula.
👏 👏 👏
Wow, thanks!
Cracking job🇬🇧
Dave i ve analysed a little bit what you have been done with this one and to me i ve been chosen that the newer drainage to be near gates instead and make even greater the slope and greater the pipes drainage line!!!❤
that valley along the house to the drain is so subtle, noticeable, and pleasant. A guy can only really see it when you put the camera on the tripod with the long shot.
Yes, not noticeable until water running on it
I like how everyone on your crew and whoever you use do a professional job. It seems weird to say that because they should be professional, but I've had work done for me that was subpar in the past. Anyway, cool to watch it come together.
Thats true, and it takes some time to develop it.
LETS GO TEAM!!!! LETS GO ENTREPRENEURS!!!
TY
We try
@ 16:15 🤣🤣🤣😂.
Great Work Gentlemen 🏆🏅🎖️🥇
Does the long joint look straight to y’all?
did you straighten out that main joint by hand?
How are you so good? Btw very helpful explaining Dave!
Glad you think so!
TY
Dave, I am from India and have been watching all your videos for past 3 years. Hats off to you....Instead of broom finish, stamped concrete could have been a better option?
Yes
TY
Love your videos. I have replaced my old 14’x 24’ back patio with a 20’x30’ stamped concrete patio. I’m hoping to replace the front patio 16’x32’ this year. To help alleviate drainage issues and get the water away from my house, I’m replacing my 4” gutters with 6”.
Good idea.

@@OdellCompleteConcrete my Dad was a contractor, so I learned a little over the years.
Why no crushed road base, 5/8 minus? Was that Rocky or clay substrate?
What city is this? Looks familiar. SA?
I'm the first viewer! I didnt watch this yet, but I'm certain this will be an awesome video.
Hope you like it!
TY for being first and watching
15:30 how does the manual joints compare to saw joints?
Work the same except tool joints hold more water and dirt
👍👍
In cases like this where you expect rain same day, how many hours from pour to feel comfortable rain won’t cause structural issues?
4 hours
Are you sure that old drain was still open? With the street right there only feet away you couldn’t get the water to it?
Weird it drains to the backyard.
The house and garage is lower then the city sidewalk
@@OdellCompleteConcrete That’s what I was thinking and can kind of see it.
Odd to see that done in city limits unlike a more rural area. Wonder how that got past city inspectors. Even back when that home was built. 60-70s?
@@myrrhavmused to be normal to drain to back of properties in a lot of older cities
@@JonnyDIY Lived in many homes. Only ones designed that way were rural areas and horse property on hills. Not city lots. But this is one example of one. I wouldn’t buy that home or one designed like it in the city.
@@myrrhavm true, I dont like it either, but many in Los Angeles California and Orange County are like this. Some even have sump pumps in backyard to help prevent flooding.
Dude, palm trees are not cheap. I would def take them home lol
You're right
Could have sold them to a landscaper if they had the time to arrange. Mature palms like that sell for big money
@@JonnyDIY
When I worked landscape construction, we planted a couple Chilean Palm Trees worth about $40k. Insane.
@@Akooks woah that's crazy. I know people pay top dollar for big ones, especially commercial and businesses
@@JonnyDIY
Yeah, we would do businesses and multi million dollar houses in San Diego. One property had over 1k trees and plants, 2 acres of sod and their water bill was around $5k a month 💀
How much for something like this!?
7900
Looks like a 12-15k job to me.@@OdellCompleteConcrete
@@OdellCompleteConcrete very reasonable....I wish you were in Delaware!?
Why no base ?
No need in this region
That house needs a gutter system installed ASAP
I concur
I need mosquito tool asap !!!
the mosquito...nice!
Oh yeah
15:43 I agree commenting on this video is nerdy. That line was straight until it was not. Edit: maybe it's because the camera man was only wearing one shoe. (Happy Gilmore reference)
Straight as an arrow
So why didnt you carry on workingon the first day ? - is that because the concrete wasn't coming until day 3
Yes
Why don't they have gutters?
I heard that they were getting some
i wish i would of got a job with you when i was sixteen
Me too
TY
Hi
Close second
Ty
There are low spots and the broom marks not so good.
Doesn't get any better.
Better than the low spots and bad broom marks? @@OdellCompleteConcrete
Nic job Mate! Has anyone ever told you that you look like a hedgehog?
Concrete jungle
Yes, fun to play on
