"To get closer" 😆🤣 E.E.S actually refined what Eloy was trying to do, aaand made it look effortless, whereas Eloy looked so pressured trying to play it! Don't get me wrong Eloy is a good drummer, but E.S (in my opinion and a lot of others') blows him off the water. Just sit back and listen to the consistency, the tone, the timing, and just about everything and you will realize how monstrous this performance is.

It's not like many others werent doing it before
Loved Joey but his drumming was okay. Nothing too technical about the way he played. More towards endurance. George Kolias was way faster at that time than Joey and he wasn't the only 1 that played with speed and technicality. There were many others.

@@uchuabaya It was never about speed, because Barker, Marco and Doc could top Kollias or any other at that time. Saying Jordison's stuff was "ok" is just pure ignorance. Eloy struggles a lot to play the songs, JJ could do it headspining without missing a note.
Speed is one thing. Control and sond of the kit even more impressive. Great performance
This is not Eloy's version. You can't see the drum screaming in pain from the abuse of being hit with the force of a car crash, therefore it's not Eloy.

There's a significant difference in skill between a drummer like Eloy, who makes something hard, look hard, and a drummer like this guy who makes something hard, look easy, and the fact that he's doing all of this with such a small kit is absolutely insane...

I've been playing guitar for 5 years just for fun but i never fully realized until now that every drummer has their own unique sound and identity and its absolutely blowing my mind.
I heard dave grohl once said in a tribue video to ringo starr and the beatles that every drummer has their own unique sound and feel and i never really fully comprehended it or realized that until now. I saw this video and I immediately went and listened to how joey and jay would play it and I cant stress enough how awesome this was and its only now that I am able to comprehend that statement from dave. I already found drummers to be absolutely talented musicians but i now have a new found form of greater respect and appreciation towards drummers.
So for all of you drummers out there, you guys are an absolute badass!🙇♂🥁🧎♂🔥

I used to play that funny between the fingers grip a lot due to RSI in my right hand. I stepped up from 5As to 5Bs and haven't needed to play like that since.
