Misadventures' overland adventure to Mabuasehube Game Reserve, a south-eastern Botswana national park.
It is the peak of summer, reaching a daily average of 40 degrees Celsius followed by dramatic Kalahari thunderstorms of light and colour.
Michael has ingeniously fitted an air-conditioner to Xerxes, the Land Cruiser, that runs off the four solar panels on the roof. 18 Degrees Celsius inside when the temperatures are soaring into the high forties! Perfect for an afternoon snooze! :-)
The trip was not smooth sailing though, we entered Mabuasehube and immediately ripped a gash into the sidewall of a tyre. Too large to repair, we needed to swap wheels before continuing on our way.
We placed camera traps up at night and were rewarded with truly amazing videos of what goes on after you go to sleep at night!
A self-drive, self-sufficient adventure in Botswana is something that should be on everyone's Bucket List!
