  • We beat the heat again in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve in central Botswana over December 2023 during the green, extremely hot, wet season.
Our phenomenal LG Air-Conditioner with Victron inverter, Victron battery monitoring and Enertec Ultra lithium batteries kept the heat at bay, providing comfortable nights' sleep, cool climes at midday and refreshing morning wake ups. On standby was our Snowmaster flexible solar panel kit, which packed away very neatly. We were completely comfortable in our Land Cruiser 79 series pop-top camper while overlanding through South Africa and Botswana during the green season. Self-sufficient 4x4 camping and bush camping from south to north in the CKGR, (Central Kalahari Game Reserve) with air-conditioning. We enjoyed a pork belly braai in the peak heat of December, but our pure sinewave inverter and LG air-conditioner kept us cool through the night and heat of the day for a comfortable overland adventure through southern Africa at any time of the year!

You should close the door when AC is running. And it would be cool to see the inside unit...

Just wanted to ask where the split section of the aircon unit was positioned?

Hello Graeme, the inside unit is mounted on the ceiling of our pop-top, about 1m from the back, so that when the top is popped, it blows directly onto our bed. We will be releasing a video soon that shows the inside unit.
