I have downloaded both Flair and geoviewer in MAC but I see the following warning once I run Flair: Warning: PIL.Image and PIL.ImageTk not found. The flair interactive window is not showing up properly! Any idea?
I would say install PIL.Image and PIL.ImageTk library because they are the basic requirement for the package.
i m getting error message while executing the basic input file in flair, it show the fluka executable is not found
You should execute the export commands before flair or add them to .bashrc then it will work.
Can you tell me comment line, that I m unable to understand because I am a beginner for Ubuntu also

I am doing since 2015 but this tutorial is with Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS. If you install dependencies then it's easier. May be if you have issue you can post the error?

I think it's a general error try to search on google. It may be related to prerequisite for flair libraries. I would suggest search on google. I didn't get this error.
Any chance you show how to install Fluka/flair on Windows using Ubuntu? I have followed the instructions to do that and was able to open Flair through Ubuntu but when I ran a simple input program it ended immediately!
You need to install using virtual box. I did it in the past.
Hi, I am having an issue at the $ make command at 08:10. I am getting the following block of errors:
gfortran: error: unrecognized command-line option \u2018-msse2\u2019
gfortran: error: unrecognized command-line option \u2018-mfpmath=sse\u2019
gfortran: error: unrecognized command-line option \u2018-m32\u2019
I am quite new to using Linux, so this is a bit tough for me to understand. Any help is appreciated!
You need to install the compatible gfortran version with Fluka and then you have to set the path using the export command (it's very important) then will work.

I do not know what to do and I have very little experience using Linux (I am actually running Ubuntu 20.04 LTS on the UTM virtual machine on MacOS). Thank you sir. I'm pretty early on. I want to use it for radiation shielding. We have a NaI(Tl) detector and can you recommend a place where I can find its geometry? And any tutorial about that.
For these specific studies, I create my own input files. For example, I simulated synchrotron radiation for the EIC experiment. It took time to properly set the input file and get the correct results.

@@Leigaryyou have to put the path of your fluka directory. In my case, I was having fluka directory in my home directory so I used.
export FLUPRO=/home/shyam/fluka

Then it's not installed properly. You should have got an error.

@@DavidePanico-bh6np I think then the installation is not correctly done. There may be some dependencies missing.
After exporting the file whenever I typing make then it gives an error and no flukahp file is made. Please resolve the issue.
You need to add export commands then call the make this will work.

Firstly I have added export command I.e (1) export FLUPRO= /home/fluka
2) export FLUFOR=gfortran
3) make
Result give an error.

after downloading geo viewer and the other file when I type "sudo dpkg -i flair " it is saying there does not exist a archive like this
You have to do in the directory of package then it will install the package.
I downloaded the flair files as you recommended and also installed them using the commands you used in the video but when I try to open by typing "flair" it is showing an error message saying "the name sys is not defined", could you please help me with this?
These are python script related error (general error) you can search on google which are easy to fix.

Yes true, but that's the general problem of Ubuntu. Once I get some error, I search on Google. Sometimes, it's time time-consuming task.
@@advance_sci_tech_SK_IITBombay maybe you could do some more tutorials in fluka, dose calculation track the pathway of particles in a complex geometry like a human body or show how to import geometries drawn by a CAD. Or something to calculate the stopping power/range of particles

No I created it for testing that FLUKA is working correctly or not.

From where I will got Fluka I'd for downloading after registration
First have to register first with official email Id. Then they will send an email containing userId after verification of your email Id.
