It's default file basic.inp and the details will be in the manual but if you want specific particle you can select from particle and the energy and momentum you can select from the BEAM card and the momentum is in GeV/c. I think the energy refers to as Kinetic energy. It's given in the manual.

@@advance_sci_tech_SK_IITBombay i read something, if you use "SOURCE" card you can choose which particle to collide eg. 4-helium, protons.. and the energy that is by default at 200GeV/c, while in this case seems that you are using "quasiparticles that travel at speed of light without any physical interaction (if not scattering I suppose)" to me it sounds like they're "photons", what do you think?

@@matteopiccioni196 You are talking about collision while this tutorial is a single particle simulation (default is proton, I checked). Just create a basic.inp in flair and take the pointer on particle then it shows the message default is proton. I can't attach screenshot here but you can check that. Did you check other video on event display with fluka there I showed pp collision using SOURCE card? You can even define your routine and compile which is also shown in one of the tutorial.

Yes true, but that's the general problem of Ubuntu. Once I get some error, I search on Google. Sometimes, it's time time-consuming task.

​@@advance_sci_tech_SK_IITBombay maybe you could do some more tutorials in fluka, dose calculation track the pathway of particles in a complex geometry like a human body or show how to import geometries drawn by a CAD. Or something to calculate the stopping power/range of particles

I would say install PIL.Image and PIL.ImageTk library because they are the basic requirement for the package.

You need to install the compatible gfortran version with Fluka and then you have to set the path using the export command (it's very important) then will work.

I do not know what to do and I have very little experience using Linux (I am actually running Ubuntu 20.04 LTS on the UTM virtual machine on MacOS). You should execute the export commands before flair or add them to .bashrc then it will work.

I think it's a general error try to search on google. It may be related to prerequisite for flair libraries. I would suggest search on google. I didn't get this error.

For these specific studies, I create my own input files. For example, I simulated synchrotron radiation for the EIC experiment. It took time to properly set the input file and get the correct results.

@@Leigaryyou have to put the path of your fluka directory. In my case, I was having fluka directory in my home directory so I used. export FLUPRO=/home/shyam/fluka

I am doing since 2015 but this tutorial is with Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS. If you install dependencies then it's easier. May be if you have issue you can post the error?

Then it's not installed properly. You should have got an error.

You need to install using virtual box. I did it in the past.

These are python script related error (general error) you can search on google which are easy to fix.

You have to do in the directory of package then it will install the package.

You can score the dose inside the Cylinder then you can get 2D plot and 1 D plot and you can integrate it. Next thing if you want dose particle by particle then you can use EventBin Card.

@@GMJesus007 As far as I know, the answer is no for the flair but I did it manually using the data files generated with the .dat extension. Manually is also reliable because you are doing calculations yourself.

I don't have a cad design software, I directly write gdml files but if you are using cad software they have some option to export in gdml which can be directly read in GEANT. May be I will do in future once I have some time.
