That banana plug idea is a clever innovation, cheers!
Nice tutorial. I like how you added the flex loom sheathing. Looks great. I use the stackable banana plugs so that if you are clipped onto ground , the same ground can be used for a scope or meter without disconnecting anything. Ive also added a banana plug to a set of lockable pliers (vicegrips). Makes a great ground clamp when needed.
I love that idea. I think @southmainauto has one.
Perhaps try some heat & abrasion resistant woven ceramic sleeve. Never used it on a test light, but I've covered a lot of wiring near headers, etc.
SWEET, SWEET, SWEET.......... Great idea Brandon!!!! i was thinking of going to the plumbing store and making my own in cylinder Pressure Transducers!!!!! them are all basic pieces for air tools!!!!!
Cool. That will be very useful. Thanks for sharing. On the weekend I modified a 145ma test light clamp with a small vice grip needle nose. Cheers...
Excellent idea as well.
@@JarheadDiagnostics When I have a chance I am going to add the banana adaptor to the unit so I can interchange the vice grip and accessories.
Thanks for the video. I just ordered one
Thank you sir! Can’t wait to see yours put together.
Ive been doin the banana jacks for years now. I like the stackable ones better myself. Really nice setup here though 👍
Excellent!! Now u can do an indepth tutorial on when/when-no-to use a test light around 'delicate" vehicle ECUs (body, engine, or whatever).
That’s an excellent idea.
I just bought the OTC light with the 12 foot spiral cable, this seems a bit of an overkill, does look cool, so i suppose its what ever floats your boat.
Do you guys have one like that with out the spiral you lose length when you do the spiral
awesome thanks for sharing.
Nice simple share thanks
Thank you sir!
Sweet test light mod, Brandon! Put a stackable banana on there for Version 2.0...comes in handy :)
That they do! Missed you last Friday! Hope you’ll be on the next live chat.
@@JarheadDiagnostics For sure! Can you guys do Thursday nights?
Nice job brother thanks for sharing this
Means a lot coming from you.
Man, there’s nothing like those snap-on stripper/crimpers. It’s mind-blowing just how much better their pliers are.
I use them daily! Love them!
@@JarheadDiagnostics I have no idea what sort of heat-treated unobtainium they forge them from, but clearly it’s proprietary, nothing comes close.
What brand are those wire strippers your using ??
Me at the mid point of the video: I’d like to do that but I don’t want to but a bunch of parts for one test light.
Then you said the magic words: I’ll make a kit. Ha!I need a kit in red! Nice one!
That’s why I offered it! So that way you don’t have to buy a brunch of unnecessary parts.
What type of globes are you using ?
Awesome ...!🤙
Thank you!
When ordering your kit with the test light attached, does it comes already assemble. Thanks
Not sir, it’s a diy kit.
Would you be willing to sell the test light already premodern with the banana plugs. I know you have the attachments for sale but I was hoping to buy one already made
Shoot me an email to jarheaddiagnostics@gmail.com and we can discuss stuff.
Great vid thanks. I just bought a Strap-on incandescent test light and it came with a straight wire, which annoyed me without belief. Now I know how to resolve the problem. Awesome!! 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Speaking of modifying a test light, maybe you would know this.
I was watching one of John Annello's videos and, somewhere, he mentions having replaced the test light bulb with a small halogen bulb, which makes it draw 4 A. I've been looking all over for an halogen that would fit in a test light and can't find nothing.
Would you know what type of bulb he's referring to?
I do not. I personally use an 1157 socket.

I made my own 4.5 amp test light. I used a MAC test light with a modified H1 bulb. It's glorious.
@@fuckjewtube69 Do you have pictures of how you modified the bulb by any chance?
Love this. Where did you get that specific banana plug? The ones I’m finding on Amazon don’t look great
I have a supply I purchase in bulk from.
@@JarheadDiagnostics would love if you could share that source but I understand if not. Thanks
Pretty cool idea OTC should become a sponsor
I wouldn’t complain! 😂
Awesome video can’t wait to try it on mine. What size wire loom do you use ?
Depends on the size wire you’re test light has. But in this video and the kit it’s 1/4”.
@@JarheadDiagnostics thank you !
Can you provide link to banana clips ?
If you watch a custom keyboard cable tutorial video you will see how the reverse the coils to make the coil tighter.

❤️❤️
Left you a message on website under contact information. Did you get it? It was about how you have the KIT for this project priced then when you click on w or w/out test light the price is the same. I'm guess the with and without is if we want a test light already made up vs not made up?? Maybe you can clear that up plus the price before a with or without is selected.
Just need the parts for it otherwise I'll check with Carlos @ aeswave a they make leads custom so my guess is they have some parts as well. Whether I have to buy in large qty is another question though.
I also left a phone message at the phone number listed on your website.
Your email was responded to sir.
that conduit is a pain in the butt to slide over cord ha!
been auto tech for 25yrs an cant stand spiral test lights they most agrevating things u could ever have use an besides what tech dont grab power probe first 99% time anyhow!!
I literally never grab mine. Power probes are known for giving false positives. But to each their own.
Enough with the gutenmeters stuff
what a waste of time !!!!lol
Depends on who you ask I guess.
