    Tile adhesive is designed to resist gravity. There's no need to use grab adhesives. I tiled my bathroom ceiling with 60x30 porcelain tiles. Just back butter the tiles for good contact.

    Thanks for the tip. There’s a window in my shower surround, and I’m preparing to tile it, so this is very helpful.

    Do you know if screwfix still sells this, I can't see to find the no nonsense instant grab?

    • @bigpouse
      @bigpouse  Před 2 lety

      Unfortunately they have discontinued it but they do one now called no nonsense x8. It's not as good if you have a huge gap to fill but it still works. Bit pricey currently at a tenner a tube. Hope this helps.

      @@bigpouse would it still stick a 500mm x 250mm tile on the top of a window recess?
      I don't want to use a batten to hold them in place.

    • @bigpouse
      @bigpouse  Před 2 lety +1

      @@TheDiamz yes for sure. As long a s the gap between the tile and surf you bond to isn't any bigger than maybe 10mm you'll be absolutely fine from my experience 👍

    Nice work but more adhesives should be added to the lower layer of tiles so as to raise up the lower layer of tiles to the same height/flat level with the lower metal edge. This is to allow shower water to drain away without accumulation, otherwise a thin layer of water with dirt will be kept within the lower edge causing molds and fungus over time

      Thanks for the reply. I think I understand what you are saying. However, in this case, this is tiling a window reveal. It is in a bathroom yes. But not in a shower? It never gets wet. It doesn't need to be tiled. A lot of people would very often opt to simply paint it. . I hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

    Looks mint that. ive used plasterboard adhesive before now. gripfill. if it saves an hour off to go buy more stuff its worth it. ive never had anyone complain about adhesive before. they never see it.
