How did Franco get from scraping his way up 7c+'s to climbing 9a and 9a+ in just 4 years? Franco is one of the most interesting climbers I have ever met and I think there is a lot we can all learn from his climbing and approach to climbing.

Should have Franco more often on channel, he is such hilarious guy
He’s great isn’t he!
And some of the bobats just to confuse Franco
"are you the bouldering bobats, then?" too good
haha made me laugh every time
too funny😂😂😂
can't quite place it, but there is something assuredly legendary about this lad, transcends the scenes of performative strength witheringly
He is a professional climber and a professional comedian at the same time. That's some serious skills.
Haha talented guy!
The holds outside… they’re generally like similar colors. 🤣🤣🤣 this guys is awesome. He’s a treasure.
Haha agreed!
I LOVE this guy, please invite him on again.
haha he's awesome isn't he
Finally someone who understands your humour josh
Hahaha it’s taken a while
im not sure wether i watched a bouldering video or a comedy skit. fantastic work, absolutely hilarious video
Haha a bit of both maybe 😂
He's not "not a 9a climber" just super specialized... Perhaps by accident. Tall, super light, insanely strong fingers, great patience. A sport slab machine pretty much.
Definitely need to have more videos with Franco! Definitely could be one of the most entertaining channels ever
Haha agreed Franco is the best
Good video thank you Josh! keep them coming :) That jump/hug at the end 😂
Thanks Ella! Haha an emotional moment for us all 😂
on slab he’s a beast, when he is explaining the feet thing it was super helpful; never heard about meeting the midway thing. 🤠
more of this guy please. his energy is infectious
Funny guy this franco fella
We had a good laugh 😃
Franco's hillarious 😂
Interesting video, too 😊
Josh, I sent Franco my climbing question for my book..the same question I asked you (if you remember, about favourite climbing venues and why), and his answer was definitely the funniest and most singular answer...he's a character, eh!! That vid as extraordinary..I don't think I've ever laughed out loud so much to a you tube vid..sweet!!!!!
I remember!! Hahaha I’m looking forward to seeing what his answer was! Aw thank you so pleased you liked it and it made you laugh 😃
This guy is awesome !
As someone with a horrific body as well, this gives me a lot of hope.
Haha climbing is for everyone 😃
Another great video! You two make a pretty good double act 😂 Not half bad at climbing either 😉
Thank you!! 😁
love goes out to Franco!
This was a blast!!
Woo pleased you liked it!
Great guy!
Really great 😊
what a cool dude
He can't be a 9a climber, because slab climbing is not real climbing.
Did i hear Anna giggle during the Van-Roof-Jump scene?
Hahaha 🤣. You did good ears!
@@JoshRundle just slab people, doing slab things *smh* :D
@@Miura.Powers Slaaab People, Slaaab people. Look like Slab, Talk like People.
great video
Thanks!
Litterally in tears watching this
Haha pleased you liked it 😃
Having Franco on was maximum fun 😂
Was a great time !
Hey Josh, great video any specific reason why you are trying the testarossa?
I have changed sponsorships for 2024 :)
Franco is such a nice guy! He should be a youtuber 😂😂
Haha agreed
"The holds outside are generally similar colours"
Strategic amnesia kicks in at 17:21
Climbing aside, someone needs to get this lad on a british panel show or something. Incredible banter.
😂 have I got news for you here Franco comes!
Love your humour, guys!
So funny (and British, if I may say so as a foreigner from the continent without offending anybody :)
Thanks!! Haha no offence taken Britain definitely has its own brand of humour 😂
Franco is so wonderfully silly
I'll kneel as well 😅
Franco might like to ask JD what he thinks about recent developments on slate....
Dave Grahams laid back doppelganger
I'm super inconsistent in my abilities. I went from flashing 6b to struggling with 6c, then recently did a beefy 7b roof after ten attempts. I just kind of di what looks fun.
I think we all go through that! Some things just suited us better than others. Like you say just about doing what’s fun 😃
he has such great just dumb silly energy, id love to spend a session or even tipsy one evening down the pub with him I bet it would be fucking hilarious
Haha that would be fun 🍻
I was wondering how those croc shaped dents appeared in the roof of my van!
😂😂😂
this guy is to funny xD
Franco is like if James Acaster climbed
josh what shoes are those?
LA SPORTIVA TESTAROSSA and solotion comps
This guy is like the Ozzy Osborne of climbing. Barely knows where he is, falls on v7s but can send 9a, Sharone!
Hahaha Franco is the best
That was hilarious
🫶
I can really relate to Franco! Six months after starting climbing, I achieved a 6c grade. Now, in most sessions, I can complete several 6cs and have begun my first 7a project. While mentioning these grades, I also want to emphasize that I primarily focus on boulders that appear fun and challenging moves I wish to attempt. For me, the enjoyment of climbing and the challenge of the moves come before the grades. It's a climbing approach that works for me, but everyone has their own style
Wow 6c in 6 months is amazing! Very quick progression! I think that’s the best way to look at it, climbing grades can be a great guide to help you push yourself but the most important thing is to have fun, and then the progression comes naturally 😃
That sums it up pretty well. The hardest part of bouldering for me is taking proper rests, as I enjoy it so much 😅@@JoshRundle
I sometimes wonder if my gym grades ridiculously hard. That v7 looks like a v4/v5 at my gym
What happend to your tenaya?
Good spot! I’ve changed sponsor for 2024 😃
🗽If you are flexible, it is an advantage on slabs, I think.
.
Definitely!
Mirin
"I'm not really a 9a climber" (Proceeds to send a 9a+) What is bro talking about XD
why are you climbing in testarrosas and not mastias or indalos ?
I have changed sponsorships for 2024 :)
This dude is legit better comedian than climber, and he isn't even a bad climber tho... hahahahaha
how old are you Josh
I'm 26 :)
Hilarious 😂
Yay 🥳
Mingin’ 😂
😂
I think instead of talking about animals "goat hit by small bus" you should use more mythological creatures and vehicles example "chupacabra hit by a small flying saucer" or "unicorn hit by a Pegasus" idk maybe I'm overthinking it 😂
"Are you the Bobats" is best climbing youtube quote in a while. Franco is so un-youtube. Somewhat foolish and for that he gets my respect as a somewhat foolish man myself.
haha mine too!
Im gonna make a summary of the evolution of this guy:
He is tall so he clears all routes easier than you
The secret is be 98lbs
Is Brilliant a great or awful sponsorship? Like cause Josh should use it to learn or cause like Josh is not who you’d normally think of as a sponsor for Brilliant? (Kidding mate)
1st 🔥🔥🔥
The absolute dream 🥳🥳
booom! Thanks for watching :)
He’s a 9a climber
Agreed
what drugs are you on ?
Lot of chalk haha and climbing shoe rubber 😂
