      @@EmerDiego Is that okay if I am administering medication with a finish date less than the rest duration of the medication?
      Eg : Drug x was prescribed today for 7 days and the finish date is + 4 days.
      Is this prescription clear and valid?

    I think the frusemide is an incorrect prescription; duration is 5 days, meanwhile the end date is saying ongoing…..
    What do you think?

    Hi! I’m doing my mock OSCE exam on Monday and I’m confused about the prescription. According to the new OSCE guidelines does a hospital prescription need to have the pharmacy check box signed before I can administer the drug to make it a complete and valid prescription?

      Hi Amy, pharmacy check is not necessary . Just remember the 10 rights of medication administration

    Hi Emer.. maglalabas lang ng hinana-ing. I failed on my resit dahil daw hindi ako naglagay ng date and time sa regular meds thou i signed on the right time provided on the form, meron naring “today” sa taas. I filed an appeal but won’t expect too much about it. It seems like this exam has been used as a business, kakalungkot.

    If its mcg we can't give. The prescription is not clear for digoxin they need to write microgram. Then only we can give

    Hi Emer, if patient is allergic to ibuprofen and if it is written in the PRN, should i code it (code 6)? Can I verbalize "To prevent others from administering, and i'll also follow up with the doctor"

    Hi emer during implementation are we only
    Expected to give oral medications? i have scenario that my pxt has neb and inhalation in the as required meds and confirmd that he did not have any shortness of breath and no chest tightness... thanks and Godbless!

      Hi, yes oral meds only. Like what you had mentioned, the patient doesn't need it.
      We have a separate station for AIM, IM, SC, and Iv. Good luck

    Hi..i have a doubt...if pt is allergic with pencillin so I can't able to administer.then which code i suppose to write.is it code 6 prescription incorrect or code 10

      Can be code 6 for wrong prescription since a drug which apatient is allergic to should not be prescribed. And can write as code 10 ; Allergic to Penicillins

    Hi
    If duration is not given for any drug in implementation chart. Do we need to code it as prescription is incomplete?.
    And if in prn medication drug given is salbutamol. Can we directly give salbutamol to patient or do we ask do you want to take salbutamol? Patient is having history of asthma

    Hello Emer quick question
    In the implementation station
    if you have levothyroxine prescribed 100 mcg in stat and once only meds and you also have it prescribed in regular meds section same dose(100mcg) both due at your medication time in a post operation case scenario for a person who history of hypothyroidism...what is the best course of action?

      5- ED. If code 10 - then reason must be written at the back

    I have an exam next week and I need an answer 😩 what if the PRN medication is due but the patient doesn't need it? How can I document? What should I write and where? Please help I can't find the answer anywhere.

      You don't have to write anything since you didn't administer the PRN medication. You only sign, date and put time on the PRN medication after the administration, and there's no need to code PRN medications.

    If ibufren given in stat dose at 7:10 and paracetamol is due for 8:00 should we administer paracetamol or not?

      I had a drug chart of tablet losartan 50mg and each drug contained 12.5mg. I served 4 tablets and they failed me. They said it was a drug overdose
      So I want to know why that is a drug overdose since 12.5 X 4 = 50

      I sent them an email for remarking, they replied I still had to come and do it again. I went, they gave same station with same scenario but changed the drug dosage. They gave Tablet Losartan 50mg with each drug containing 25mg so I served 2 tablets and passed. But before I took the exams, I asked lots of people because I couldn’t understand why I’d failed and one person told me I shouldn’t have served the drug instead, I should have stated that prescription was wrong and inform GP to change number of drugs to be served.

      Why not. That is within the normal range. In real practice, of course you have to consider if the patient is clinically stable and you must ensure you will check the patient’s observations regularly. Good luck
