  • Hornady Bullet Challenge: 52ELD-Match versus 52 BTHP. Featuring A2200 Shooting Tikka T3X .223. 20 shot groups. The purpose of this test is to confirm the results of a previous test comparing the 52BTHP versus 52ELDM. This, however, is using an Accurate 2200 powder, where the previous test was using CFE223 -- two very different powders.
Here’s a link to the video for the previous test with these two bullets.

Looks good to me Dennis. I never shot a 20 shot string of the same charge weight before. I am going to give it a try.

Hi Dave. I picked this idea up from a Hornady video entitled, "Your groups are too small." You should watch it. The idea is that the larger groups will tell you more about how the rifle, ammo, and shooter are actually performing. And mean radius is more important than extreme spread. They have a video on that too. Thanks for watching, my friend.

@@EverydayReloadingandShooting Yes, I watched it and far be it for me to disagree with the professional ballisticians. But 20 shot groups with larger bore rifles seems excessive but with lower pressure cartridges such as the .223/556 the 20-100 shot tests they recommend seems prudent. But just not for me when human error, barrel/chamber heat and powder fouling are more likely culprits of shot inconsistency when shooting that many rounds in one string. Besides the expense these days of components.

That makes sense to me. If I was shooting your rifles my shoulder would be killing me. 😀 I'll never shoot a 50 shot group, and definitely never 100.

@@garyjohns4711 I found some at midwayusa.com. It appears to be a less expensive powder than many others. You have to add that hazmat and shipping though.
