now let's predict some new zelda games!
The Legend of Zelda is celebrating it's 35th Anniversary in 2021, and after Breath of the Wild in 2017, the Zelda franchise is in a very interesting place. While we wait for Skyward Sword HD and the sequel to BOTW, let's have some fun predicting what Zelda could look like in the next 10 years.

Because some idiots didn't like the cereal I liked Nintendo is not only never going to give me new flavor of that cereal, but make it hard to get the cereal by being really expensive.

It's funny how people say they don't like BOTW because it's too different from the other Zelda games, mainly with the open world. However, the devs of the original Zelda game wanted to make Zelda an open world game but obviously couldn't because of the technology. BOTW is what the original devs wanted!
I honestly didn't know that's what the devs wanted for the original zelda game, but I'm happy that they were able to have their vision to come into reality, just with a later game

Wow. I genuinely thought that botw didn’t have that ‘sparkle’ the feeling that every other zelda game had. This guy, basically took the reasons I didn’t like botw and transformed them into points that make botw completely different and unique from the other games.

Honestly, I've had the idea in my head that they should make a modern Zelda where Link is like a normal citizen in Hyrule City or something and gets take to King Hyrule to be told he's the legendary hero. Kinda like FF15 but Zelda.

first video of his that I have watched I am a fan. all the details that you don't pay attention to but make it more lively like the leaves in the background or the trees swaying. amazing
So I always liked the idea of a revitalization rune which inherently can be broken. Like wanna farm for Lynel parts, idk why you wanna. But just plop a Lynel guy down and use the rune and boom Lynel. And it also serves to add unique features to some items like the Majora’s Mask
Maybe more so, there could be a location with some sort of malice reactor that you can grab similar to the master sword, and it drains ur hearts with the more that drain having more enemies that spawn, could make it so if you want to farm you need to use up ur hearts as a resource!
@@GetMadz yeah and also I’ve fleshed out the unique features part, like using it on Majora’s Mask essentially makes you god but every attack is self harming which means there’ll be players who don’t prepare and players who’ll cook 93829293829 dishes. Or the phantom armor which puts Link in rag doll state and the the armor is possessed by Link’s soul, not only being a cute little Phantom Hourglass reference but gave me the idea for an MGS style dungeon where you have to use this in conjunction with bombs since they distract enemies. And it’s basically a follow up to the Yiga clan hideout, but entirely made of Phantoms.
Also this just made me think what if the malice is actually the chunks of Dark Beast Ganon, and if you don’t do it all Ganon gets resurrected and a secret final boss is made which is a more smarter form of Dark Beast which actually does more than spit fire
Do more videos like this. I'm working as a game developer and this stuff helps get some ideas flowing and give me a little break from working.
I think the problem with a light rune is that if you saw a mountain you could find literally anything and then just float upwards

Honestly, even though I liked pretty much all console zelda games before BOTW, I’m glad they did something new. Before it felt like they were just trying to make OOT success again, and even though the games were fun, its cool to see such an innovative zelda title with BOTW.

EXACTLY! We need hand-to-hand melee combat as an option. I want to punt so much more than just a skeleton head in the sequel. Some people might think that it would look out of place for Link to attack without a weapon, but SSBU has shown he is more than capable with kicks.
yes. i get that weapons hit hard, but if they all break because im playing master mode at least let me try to fight the bokoblin hunting me down.

This reminds me of how some dungeons (or whatever they're called) are introduced in Genshin Impact through "world quests" (secondary quests that you can unlock and also complete by exploring some areas of the map).
Now, I'm not too much of a fan of the Zelda franchise myself but I think nonetheless that it could be a great addition to a Zelda open world.

I think the setting is pretty similar across games but the change of art style and gameplay mechanics makes it feel drastically different.

I really like the art style of your channel, it looks kind of cartoony but not too cartoony which is the kind of look I get a kick out of.
It’s pretty amazing how much work they put into Breath of the Wild. It was going to be a Wii U game which means the max sales they could make was 13 million which means they could only make $780,000,000.
When they make a game, they have a budget. Breath of the Wild clearly has a visibly large budget what with all the features in it. The amount of work they put into the game has to cost less than how much they make from selling the game.
I think they realized that they were putting more money into a Wii U game than they would make from selling it on the Wii U. So they delayed it 2 years so they could sell it on a new system. People who wanted to play the game would buy a switch over a Wii U because you wouldn’t buy the old console over the portable one.
The game prompted people to buy a switch and the switch prompted people to buy the game. It’s like perpetual motion.

The most annoying thing about your videos is how short they are. They are so fun you just want more
'The older 3D games feel so limiting after BOTW.' This was the biggest barrier I faced when trying to go back to 3D Ocarina of Time and Gameboy Link's Awakening. I don't know what it is, since I know the merit of playing both games, but I also can't get over the unrestricted freedom that BOTW granted me. It's a repeat of the Arkham Origins problem, where I started with Origins, had nothing to compare it to and I thought it was amazing. City was even better. Then Asylum sauntered in and I couldn't properly see the game over the lack of features that hadn't been made for the game. I get that Asylum is an incredible experience and I seem to be in the minority of people who like Origins, but as great as BOTW is, it does make me wish I'd discovered it after Ocarina, rather than what happened.
Do you think we could get a future zelda game which makes botw feel like that? Because I feel like they might develop the next 1 or 2 games so much it makes it seem really basic in conparison
@@GetMadz Hmm. This idea scares and thrills me. BOTW is that amazing of a game, that any successor to it will have its work cut out in truly surpassing the bar that BOTW set.
That said, I've come tantalisingly close to finishing Age Of Calamity and while it isn't quite the same experience in terms of BOTW's world and explorative nature, I was blown away by how every action, every fight, every playable character added to the game was integrated to service the story.
BOTW's story wasn't the strongest element of the game, because there were so many glorious smatterings of stories, from a girl learning to cook, to the founding of a small town. I'm not knocking the story for that, but for the type of game BOTW is, the story didn't distract from the world or the side quests, as both feel delightfully unique.
I'm not sure if I can quite describe my love for BOTW's environmental storytelling, in comparison to the euphoric rush that I felt with the ending of Calamity's story, but I feel that some sort of amalgamation of the two would be perfect. Like Hades, the final boss is by no means the end of the game, for Calamity or BOTW, but the experience of finding every secret to prepare for the final boss or seeing how your efforts to solve problems can unite a region, would be a lovely thing to see a future title integrate into a game that has a conversation with the two games that (for me) had the best elements of environmental storytelling and a genuine sense that everything ties into the story and the story feeds back into the characters and move sets.
That last sentence was entirely too long for its own good and for that I apologise. Have a biscuit, Potter. 🍪

The Legend Of Zelda might do what Final Fantasy did and have more modern technology.
But to Zelda fans, Spirit Tracks was gOoFy. They don't think it's cool to see an industrial Hyrule. Shiekah tech, that's okay, but _driving a train_ is just too ridiculous.
