You should've wet your whole head, added the conditioner and put a bag over the locs you weren't working on. It would've made the hair softer and easier to out

She did it the hard way. It's better if you wet your whole head and completely soak it in conditioner. The longer the conditioner sits in your hair, the more they will start coming out on their own. You can literally run your fingers down your loc to really loosen it up after the 5th day. I had mine for a year and they were completely locked when I took them out. Remember, letting the loc's soak in conditioner is the key.
Kelly gray It seems that by the person saying they kept the conditioner on for 5 days or more that you dont need to lay them in a bowl. You can soak the conditioner in and in another comment said cover it with a bag (and i guess if u leave the house, cover the bag with a hat). I dont believe theres any special kind of conditioner you need, just one that will do the job (be slippery, as they all are) Good luck.

I just did the same thing, it’s been about 2 months since I cut my 6 yr old babies and went back to my loose natural hair. I went with the low fade and I love it, after the work put in with Locs the ease of the low fade is just what I needed. And that slo-mo was everything 🙌🏾

The extensions probably made it easier to comb out. I had reached mid back length when I combed mine out & it took what seemed like forever! It's been two years & I don't regret it at all, I love my loose natural hair❣️

As soon as I realized she had fake lock extensions, I was pretty much done. I think she might have thought that she was going to comb out the extensions and that they would have bonded with her own hair to lengthen it.

My first set of locs I had for 4 years and combed them out back in 2009, it took a week from sun up to sun down. My current set are 8 years old, and back in December I cut a good 6” off and they’re still down my back and too heavy- so in a few weeks, I’ll be combing them out again. It’s amazing to see how many times ppl are doing this now; back when I did it there was only one lady on CZcams who had a video on it. So when I tell ppl I combed them out, they look at me crazy. Lol! Nice video

Niecy Lee I think it's the fact that a TON of people were fooled thinking it was all her own natural loc'd hair that she grew from her own scalp and it was now being taken out. Based off the fact she didn't specify in the title it was fake hair added in and that she's had locs less than a year it's very easy to see how someone who's never seen her channel could be a little disappointed to go through the video just to realize it's not even all her hair. I've never seen this girl before until this video because I was searching for a loc removal video because my sister is taking out her REAL locs that are now past her butt and she wanted to see what the least time consuming and damaging way to do so was. Taking out real locs vs taking out loc extensions are two different videos.

Nisha Rodriguez I had a set of locs extensions that I took out and a set of locs with my real hair only and I combed them both out. it was basically the same thing. except for with loc extensions you cut off the extension part then soak the hair in water and conditioner like she did and comb them out. with regular hair locs you just trim your end a little bit then do the same thing soak it and comb it. same technique regardless and they both was hard to take out but possible with patience and prayer
brown sweetie yes but for someone who's real locs go past their butt it's extremely more time consuming and a slightly different process for someone who has extensions and can just cut 80% of the length off due to it being fake hair. My sister is trying to keep as much of the length as she can so I was trying to find a video for someone with longer REAL locs and this is the first video that popped up. When the girl cut the fake hair the ends were pretty much unraveled.
