Why Manners? | STUFF YOU SHOULD KNOW
Keeping your elbows off the table, keeping your fingers out of the gravy boat - at some point these became very important rules of etiquette. But what purpose do manners serve? It turns out they just may be the glue that prevents society from unraveling.

    Hi,
Manners were invented & strictly enforced by the upper classes to exclude the poor & divide less affluent people into social hierarchies. Everything humans do can be attributed to our hierarchies.

I was really enjoying the podcast on the iPhone podcasts app until some very bad manners stopped me in my tracks. at 34mins, a 34cm thing was rammed down my throat; promoting some woke crap. I understand advertising, revenue and promotion. I don't understand how any of these are helped with agendas and division. Eventually the audience is divided by half, half and half again. iHeart need to cool their jets or I'll be listening to something else.

The shows have been going downhill since they don’t record in the same room anymore. And I really do feel like they pander at times. I don’t know them, but it can feel disingenuous as times.

@@AfterTheFirstNever I've enjoyed the shows and content. They're rational, compassionate and liberal people. I just can't tolerate the bias of the advertising. I'm a 90% rational being, but I'm just being squeezed out. I don't want to support an extreme outlet.

@@coffeemaddan That's probably a more level headed assessment, I get critical at times. But I'm not sure about the advertisement you speak of, I have YT Premium so this is the only way I can listen to them completely ad free, only the little musical breaks.
