    I've set a programme for the heating to turn on and off in the morning and in the evening but I don't need it yet so I pressed the Hand button. However, at 3.15 am the boiler came on, even though I hadn't set it to come on at that time and anyway, I'd pressed the Hand button. Wasn't sure how to stop it other than to press the Holiday button. Then the boiler started again at 06.30 as per my programme, although I have no need of that just yet. How can I simply turn it off so that it doesn't wake me in the middle of the night again? (Unfortunately the boiler is in a cupboard right by my bed!). And how can I make sure I'm not woken in the night when I do start using the heating later in the autumn? This is all very frustrating.

    Whatever the temperature is set to on the device, is it dependent of the physical turn nub on the heaters in rooms themselves? To be more clear if I turn the physical nub to max on the heaters in my rooms the temperature can't go over the programmed heat on the device? If it's the case it means I need to have all physical turn nub heaters set to max in my rooms to have the programed temperatures?

    The video doesn't mention manual control at all. I don't want to set the 5-day/2-day routine, as that doesn't match my work pattern, but I can't work out how to control the thing manually at all. I can manage to turn the unit on the wall on to 'manual' and then press 'on', but then how do I control the temperature? Do I have to keep turning it on and off every 5 minutes? A lot of thought seems to have gone into designing a clever way of programming it a certain way (coming on 3 times a day, and working 5 days a week), but if your lifestyle doesn't fit in with that it's useless.

  • @lumsdot
    @lumsdot Před 4 lety +2

    each programme is just one time and temp
    so for your example it has to be
    P1 6.30am 21 C
    P2 9.00am 10 C
    P3 5.30pm 21 C
    P4 11pm 10C
    that leaves 2 programmes left which i would need for mid day lunchtime
    that means i dont have any left for the early morning 5 am to 5.30 am which i want in case i wake early
    if you are using 16 C as your lowest temp ( 16 is not cold) it may mean you are heating your house whilst out which is a possible waste of gas, its more effiecent to bring your house back up to temp when you get home.
    Nest allows a lot more programmes, which is why i was complaining this only has so few

  • @vamps_rock
    @vamps_rock Před 4 lety +11

    This is a really helpful video in terms of the timer function, however as the written instructions (the 'quick guide'*) are laughable, what about the rest of it? There needs to be more info provided, such as a complete introduction with an explanation of the different buttons and what they do and a problem solver.
    Where is the full written instruction manual to the unit? There is just the same quick guide on your website. Also, this one seems to be called the RT510RF, the one I have has RT510TX on the properties label on the back of the actual unit, but the instructions* that came with it refers to RT510BC+... so which is it and why 3 different model numbers for what seems to essentially be the same thing?
    What is the Boost function and what do the temporary and permanent override functions do?
    I have inadvertently touched some buttons (easy to when you pick it up as it has been left with me as a freestanding unit - which sounds great but is horrible in practice due to the placement of the buttons) that seem to have thrown things off so how do I revert the unit back to default (ie no settings) so that I can start again from scratch?
    Why is there a programme number (4 on this occasion) showing when I don't recall setting a timer?
    What is the flame/V in a circle (not sure what it actually is) symbol on the unit and what does it mean?
    What is the installer mode?
    I should not have to make a (no doubt lengthy) phone call to your company to get answers to all these questions, and others, to gain a basic understanding of the functionality this item, and so I look forward to your comments.
