I'm sorry the footage is so fast at some bits! A few folks have said it's too fast for them, so I'm sorry if it had a flashing images effect at all. These illustrations took around 8 hours a piece (or longer) and I had to really time lapse some parts so the video wasn't excessively long. I'm working on a couple solutions for this for future videos. In the meantime, artists, do you have suggestions that could help?

I haven't used it myself, but I believe there's a new feature to Clip Studio where it will record your art process flat, no zooms, just however it appears on the canvas as you work so you can see the full piece unfold in full.

This is so cool! One could be inspired by the shore and the "softer" part of the ocean, one could be inspired by the "middle" of the ocean where there are more sea creatures and the last could be inspired be the depths and they could look really spooky. I kind of really want to do something inspired by this now!

A name idea for Oak could be “Adair”. It’s Irish, meaning “Oak tree” or “Wealthy spear”.
For Birch maybe “Bedevire”, meaning “Birch Tree” in Old Arthurian Language.
As for Willow, there’s the name “Banara”, which is Javanese, meaning “Shade tree”.
Those are some ideas! :)

I wanna see the sky girls and tree boys interacting now. It sort of looks like they are protectors keeping their respective domains safe. They all look so cool, amazing design 💜
My mind screams when you say silver and gold don't go tougether... they do! It may be hard to do, but there are historical cermonial armour that have both colors (not sure if both metals) to help with that.

I feel like Oak is a Desmond, Birch is a Eirian, and Willow is a Reynard. Also, maybe the weapons/shields could have fancy names too? I feel like that’s a common thing with knights lol. Love the designs!

Birch is giving me some huge Lord Of The Rings Elven vibes, and I love it. The crown adornement reminds me a bit of the headbands the elves wear, as well as Thranduil's crown in the Hobbit. And the decorations on his armor look a bit like the ones of the elves as well ! I really like him.
the tall lanky one is definitely giving me archer vibes:O maybe his name could be Ferdinand? It means bold and peace, like him:D It also sounds very fancy:))

This was such a cool concept! If you do this again can you do house plants? Or tropical? That would be interesting to make a bunch of character designs off of plants. They all turned out so nice! Keep up the good work!
i have this set of five original characters who are knights and this helped me think about redesigning them a ton.
(also, how do you know so much about knights/swordsplay? i think thats very cool)
I'm glad this gave you a spark of inspiration! I've always loved knights and swords, but recently I've been watching a lot of CZcamsrs like Shadiversity and Jill Bearup (plus I've been learning some HEMA) so it's helped a lot with Knight designs!
These are glorious! I love that they all have shields, as i feel shields and helmets are usually the least popular armor/weapons for artists to do. All three of their hairs are just glorious! My favorite is birch. His facial features are so beautiful and the colors and design of his armor is so pretty. I love the contrast with the greenish teal. Also his sword/staff i like to think is a magical weapon. The back part that is branch grows and grabs enemies or trips them so he can use it as a form of CC, and the front of course is for stabbing and finishing off enemies.
Glad I’m not the only one who gets completely unhinged when drawing at 3 am, like, I either have amazing ideas or completely terrible ones, no in between

name-wise; I’m not sure but maybe something symbolic? Like Oak makes me think Life/ Birch community/ and Willow feels like home. Names could relate to a feeling ^_^
And maybe for storyline, maybe different skies can tie into the growth or strength of different trees possibly??? 😗
I love these designs, especially that you designed them with thought given to the function of their armour and weaponry, and also didn’t make them all white stereotypically Western European knights. It got me inspired to draw some OCs for a fantasy setting I’m working on for a story or maybe a tabletop RPG game in the future.

I feel that the knights should have names that start with the same letter as the tree name. Idk about the other two, but my suggestion is Oberon for mr oak!

I may be late but I do want to say that blade staffs exist! So birch tree knight having a sword with a long handle is totally valid!
The name Vallis for the stealth class. Vallis is latin for Valley. A valley can be perceived as a concealed low place, like an assassin in hiding.

I don't know if this name also exists in English, but in French, a willow tree is called a "saule pleureur" which means "weeping willow". I'm just throwing that out here in case that could spark your interest!
For example, maybe your character based on that tree could have a tragic past (like loosing his lover in a heartbreaking way) and was cursed to bear the burden of his grief for all eternity?

I’m still at 9:20, but I just have to say how AMAZING it is. And I feel like these knights and the sky girls could be part of the same world! Sorceresses of the Celestial Realm called upon by the Knights of the Forest Realm to protect the woods from evil demons. (Kind of like in Sailor Moon the moon people were Earth’s protectors until the rebellion).
Edit: Why not give the Birch Knight a different weapon, other than a sword? A polearm would work well. A spear, a halberd, a naginata… Knights don’t only use swords :)
