Big like! Congratulations on your purchase and on making these locomotives run super smoothly! I didn't know Lima had such a beautiful steam locomotive! Wonderful 🤩 Thanks for the entertaining video, as always I have been watching it from the beginning to the end with great pleasure! And with the zoom function of CZcams I could watch all the wonderful details of your layout and locomotives! Cheers 🙋♂️ Erik
Hi Erik, I have been able to buy 4 Diesels and 3 Steam Locos in fairly good condition they needed Servicing some repairs and a couple of motor changes to get them running smoothly. Lima produced these King Class Locos in the 70s and continued into the 80s. They are quite good runners and easy to repair or service. I also have a very nice Steamer to show next Sunday after some minor work, I am very pleased with my purchases they are great value for money. Glad you could zoom in and see some of my layouts details. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏
Thank you for the video, Paul. Very fine locomotives, I like especially the King George the Vth steamer. Of course, smooth runners, as usually. Thanks & have a peaceful evening! / Chris
Hi Chris, I am very happy how these Locos are running after a fair bit of work. The Lima King was a noisy loco and had wheel issues but I finally managed to solve the problems. Thanks for the great comments. Have a super week. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏
Hey Paul, Lovely runners there mate. I have been on the hunt for a Lima Class 8 diesel, yours is a great little runner. I like the way the running gear is properly offset, as opposed to the Triang ones. Your King George v looks like a very fine runner as well, a mate told me the Lima versions of the King class were much better than the Hornby versions of the time. Thanks for the callout, it's much appreciated. Steven
Hi Steven, I bought 4 Diesels and 3 Steamers that were in fairly good condition but need some improvements. I have fitted CD Motors to the Lima 08 Shunter and the King George 5 as the Ringfield motors were very noisy. I also like the running gear on the 08 it looks better than other brands. Lima have produced many Locos that are well detailed and can be made to run well. I am not a fan of tender drive but these Lima Steamers seem to pull quite well. I had a Hornby King Class around 15 years ago and it never ran well and lacked detail. It was tender drive and wouldnt pull more than 2 coaches. I have an amazing Steamer that I will show after a few repairs and servicing next Sunday. Your more than welcome on the callout you have some great Locos. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏
Hi Paul, another enjoyable video. I've just watched it with my grandson before he went home. He's been with us working on his 009 layout and has uploaded part 2 of his build... Cheers James 🙂👍
@paulvozman842 we certainly did enjoy your video. Dylan's been staying with us this weekend, so has been able to get some work done to his layout while here. He'll be able to get more done over the school holidays when he can come and stay for a few days at a time 🙂👍
Hi Tim, I was surprised how well it ran when I bought it, just a clean and light oil was enough. The King and Lima Shunter run much better with CD motors fitted. Thanks for watching and the kind comments. Have a great week. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏
Hi Michael, Fitting CD motors really has improved the Lima Shunter and KG5, they do run much smoother. The Hornby Jinty just had a clean and light oiling and is also a super runner. I have one more Steamer from the 3 I bought which I will run next Sunday after a few minor repairs, now this one is amazingly smooth. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏
