Hi Michael, Yes it was you I was refering to about Loco prices. I have paid high prices for my 2 DCC Locos some years ago but never again. I am very pleased how these 2 Lima Diesels turned out, I was expecting some negative comments about not liking the BR blue liverys but so far all the remarks are positive. As I mentioned I bought 4 Locos for 80 pounds and even after fitting CD motors they were around 35 pounds each. I already had the Vallejo paints and decals. I have one more from the 4 I bought that I am finishing and hope to show it on Sunday, its in its origional livery so just highlighting some details and a CD motor change. Hi Steven, I have bifocal glasses but lately my vision has not been very good close up. I bought 4 Diesels 3 of them were in BR blue but had decided to change the livery to green as blue does not suit my layouts period. I am so happy how they turned out and how they run so well with 12v CD motors. Lima Locos have quite good detailing, the change from blue to green has brought these out very nicely. I have one more Diesel from the 4 that has its origional livery, it just needs a new CD motor and a good clean. I will show this one next Sunday and compare it with another similar Lima Diesel. Hi, good question, I would not paint an MT Diesel in brown its not my favorite color for a Loco. Howver my GWR Railcar in brown and cream looks great as does my Class 73 Pullman Diesel in the same livery. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏

Hi Erik, I was surprised how these 4 Lima Locos were in quite good condition for the price. The CD Motors are a great improvement to the running and well worth around 14 pounds each. I like when someone gives me advice like when you suggested painting the connecting rods its made a big difference how the Shunter looks. Its a shame you dont have a bigger layout then you could run some of the larger Trains. I like what you have done with your layouts they have a lot of detail. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏

Hi Michael, I am also spending more time outside, been testing my sub in the pool. In my next video I hope to show some Diesels I bought used and after motor changes and new liveries have spent a fraction of what a new locos cost. Good Morning Paul.I think a lot of the problems people have is when they buy ‘fully loaded’ locos,I mean don’t get me wrong some I have seen on DCC are fantastic to watch,but they should be for the price.But more often than not they can be a right ball ache too 😭😏✌️

Hi Michael, I like to keep my DC Locos simple with Led lamps in some and a few added details. I have two DCC Locos that rarely get used, I may convert the Black 5 to DC one day. I agree with you, these DCC Locos are great to watch but can have issues. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏

Hi Steven, I am very happy how well the Mehano Steamer looks and runs. I just need to change the wires on the tender plug to finer ones as the wires I fitted are too stiff. When I looked at the Lima 08 in the video I noticed I had missed a few spots so a touch up is needed. As I said I am not a fan of the BR blue livery on these Locos so a repaint in green it was. I call my M7 the "wisperer" it is probably the quietest loco I have and is a great looking model. I bought it new over 8 years ago, it doesnt get run very much so its still in good condition. I am glad you have enjoyed my Steamy Sundays and for all your support. Next Sunday I will feature some used Diesels that are having a makeover I think you might like the end results. Hi Erik, These 4 wheel coaches are good for my tight branch line curves, although not prototypical they look nice. I am thinking of painting the Limas connecting rods in red they do look too shiny. @@paulvozman842 I also like restoring locomotives. In 2022 I brought my old trainset home from its resting place on top of the wardrobe in my ex room at my parent's house. It consisted in three Lima locomotives and some passenger stock and goods wagons, plus a few buildings. Since then I've expanded the fleet with second hand purchases on the Vinted platform adding Jouef, Piko, Hornby acHO, Lima, GèGè and Kleinbahn locomotives and rolling stock. Steam engines are my favourite, but I've also like old Italian electric locos. I also enjoy making scratch built freelance railcars and rail buses based on existing models in a "what if" scenario, using diesel running units. Your layout is beautiful, mine is very basic as I don't have space for a permanent one. That factory is a real cracker!

Hi Michael, Fitting CD motors really has improved the Lima Shunter and KG5, they do run much smoother. The Hornby Jinty just had a clean and light oiling and is also a super runner. I have one more Steamer from the 3 I bought which I will run next Sunday after a few minor repairs, now this one is amazingly smooth. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏

Hi Steven, I bought 4 Diesels and 3 Steamers that were in fairly good condition but need some improvements. I have fitted CD Motors to the Lima 08 Shunter and the King George 5 as the Ringfield motors were very noisy. I also like the running gear on the 08 it looks better than other brands. Lima have produced many Locos that are well detailed and can be made to run well. I am not a fan of tender drive but these Lima Steamers seem to pull quite well. I had a Hornby King Class around 15 years ago and it never ran well and lacked detail. It was tender drive and wouldnt pull more than 2 coaches. I have an amazing Steamer that I will show after a few repairs and servicing next Sunday. Your more than welcome on the callout you have some great Locos. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏

Hi Erik, I have been able to buy 4 Diesels and 3 Steam Locos in fairly good condition they needed Servicing some repairs and a couple of motor changes to get them running smoothly. Lima produced these King Class Locos in the 70s and continued into the 80s. They are quite good runners and easy to repair or service. I also have a very nice Steamer to show next Sunday after some minor work, I am very pleased with my purchases they are great value for money. Hi Michael, I have not run the Black 5 and Wild West Loco for quite a long time. I am thinking of converting the Black 5 to DC then it will get more use. Thats good you checked whether a coreless motor will run on your Gaugemaster controller. I dont have any Locos with a coreless motor, its good you mentioned it I will avoid them. Hi Steven, It has been more than 2 years since I ran the Black 5. I did nothing to it just took it out of its box and it ran perfectly. I am thinking of converting it to DC as I am not that bothered about the sounds plus I have sensative hearing. I also have a DCC Class 37 that rarely gets a run as I am too lazy to hook up the controller (2 plugs). I really like my Wild West Loco and was surprised how well it runs for the money. Its an IHC model which basically is a Mehano repackaged for various retailers. I have either scrapped or re-motored my Mehano Locos that had the open frame motor, this little 0-4-0 is the only one still intact. I have tried everything to get them to run smoothly and quietly but gave up trying. They are reliable though and quite powerful if your not bothered about the noise they make. I believe Mehano made 5 pole open frame motors in the seventies that were very good they are quite rare though. I am expecting a number of used Steamers and Diesels this week so after repairs and motor swaps I hope to show 1 or 2 next Sunday. Thanks for all your support and kind comments,. Hi Chris, I have wanted a Wild West Train for years but never liked the Triang/Hornby models. I found this IHC (Mehano) a few years ago and am very happy how it runs. I bought the Wagons seperatley and they were quite hard to find. I watched the old American TV shows like Casey Jones and Petticote Junction (see CZcams) and really liked these old Locos.
