That ending guitar solo brings out every emotion in me. Pain, sadness and joy. I'll be honest, every time I hear it it brings tears to my eyes. That truly is the greatest guitar solo of all time.
i was there , twice, as folk left the arena nobody was talking , just mouths open , eyes agog , fucked .
Completely agree.
Yup..
I got to see this live in â94 and was one of the greatest moments of my life
The part when the glitter ball opens up is so weirdly powerful. Sounds like his guitar is crying out.
The only Guitar Solo to make a 65 year old man CRY every time !!!!
The same, growing with them has been such an incredible gift
First Rule, Never pause during a Gilmour solo. Second Rule..NEVER take your eyes off of the performance. Pink Floyd is the only band that can perform studio quality at a concert. Every song performed at this concert is exactly like this one
No if ands or buts, they are the greatest band ever.đ„đ„đŻđŻ
The second solo is considered by many to be the greatest guitar solo ever. When the disco ball comes down and opens up, in the middle is a diamond, a nod to Syd Barrett.
I can definitely agree so far this was the best solo Iâve heard on this rock journey. đ€đœđ€đœđ€đœ
I was at this performance
@@davidlittman7194 I saw it at Vanderbilt Football Stadium in Nashville
I was at Vanderbilt stadium as well. Fan of Floydâs since 1973.
Pink Floyd was not ahead of their time. They created their own time and space. Pink Floyd helped my spirit and soul develop as a young girl in the 70s. I feel like they are a part of me and I know my life would be different if they werenât with me on my journey. When itâs my time to leave I take solace knowing they will be with me.
Everyone sees further by standing on the shoulders who went before.
Roger Waters felt the same when he heard Sgt Peppers for the first time.
Without Sgt Peppers we would never have got Dark Side of the Moon.
But why did artists give up climbing the heights in favour of lesser things?
Punk was at its height when the Wall came out.
I have always referred to their music as "Blues from the 25th Century". Nobody else even comes close.
Wow, After watching this amazing video, I was wondering what could blow my mind further, and then, I see your poetic assessment of it, and I say, now that answers a lot of questions that none of us have been able to answer or even try to put into words!
I agree 100%! The first time I heard them (Hey You), I stared at the radio the entire length of the song with my mouth open. My mind couldn't reconcile what it was hearing. I feel blessed and fortunate to be alive so I can hear Pink Floyd.
" Imagine beeing there..." you say?! I was there !!! It was the money best spent in my intire life. It was stratospheric, it was magical, it was a mix of fellings, to explain Pink Floyd, it's to try to explain the universe !! They are legends.
i saw them in the 80s...this concert looks incredible
David Gilmore knows why he is here . Heâs pursued that destiny everyday of his life . Many of us learned how to play an instrument but to be blessed with the creative mind required to put together such masterpieces is otherworldly . Maybe he canât see it , being on the inside looking out , but to the rest of us , this is the eighth wonder of the world . I never had the privilege of seeing them in concert . Now that brief moment is gone . I donât miss many concerts anymore .
One doesn't merely listen to Pink Floyd. One EXPERIENCES Pink Floyd. It does my old heart good to see a young man enjoying the music of my generation. Welcome aboard.
Greatest guitar solo of ALL TIME.
That guitar solo! Speaks to me in a way words can't. Pink Floyd are deeper than the Mariana trench, smoother than a quantum stabilized atom mirror, cooler than an iceberg in a river of liquid nitrogen and more zen than 1,000 Buddhist monasteries. Thanks for the reaction bro!
hahaha, and when i re-read this imagining Blackadder saying it it was even better :-)
I was there and it was âŠâŠlost for words
Beautiful response!
@@garyloss2878 Thank you!
That's probably the best description of an indescribable sound!
The greatest version of the greatest guitar solo. Moves me every time.
if you have ever heard the phase, "the skies lit up like a Pink Floyd concert." Then you know that person saw a hell of a light show.
The fact that Pink Floyd's album "Dark side of the moon " was in Australia's top 100 for 751 weeks speaks volumes for how outstanding they were... and still are.
Long live Pink Floyd..
Wow. I've been a fan for 40 years. That is an interesting factoid.
David rips his heart and soul, serves it directly to ours, deeply out of deepness and leaves us rethinking our existence. This is how the music is supposed to speak to us.
The big disco ball is highly symbolic.
First of all, it wasn't seen until the lights spotted it. It was simply not there! Hidden in a box in the ceilling. So when it got lit, you can understand why the audience went wild.
And then, when it opened up and showed the shining diamond that's inside, a direct reference to "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" (which refer to Syd Barrett), the fans understood!
Genius!
"Can you imagine being there?" I was my friend and it was awesome! Earls Court October 1994!
You better buckle up and listen to all of the Pulse concert songs. You'll know most for sure. Gilmore and Floyd are the GOATS!!!!!!!!!
I was raised on this music, and I can say I was truly blessed to have be born early enough to experience it.
Been listening to Pink Floyd for 50 years now and it never, ever gets old.
Love watching youngsters discover real music that we were appreciating 50 years ago.
Art like this is timeless and will be enjoyed for countless generations.
Think about it, in 500 years and in 1000 years, kids will be mind-blown by Pink Floyd.
I truly believe that, and 1000 years is not even a stretch.
How many times have I heard this song, watched this performance-I could not even count. Yet, I still get goosebumps every single time. It is my favorite song of all time, from my favorite band of all time. And that is why-I still feel the same things when I listen to their masterpieces, no matter how many times I have heard them.
Same
Yep.
When i was a teenager and the song would come on the radio, I'd scream every single time! I cry every time I hear this solo. Pink Floyd is the ceiling, everyone else is the floor. No one comes close.
@@jacquelyndavis7296 Well said!
Amen. Pink Floyd is the standard. No one else meets the standard. Greatest of all time. Period.
I've been listening to them for 50yrs and you people will still be listening 50yrs from now, Run like He'll, Sorrow, learning to fly or anything from this concert, they are an experience love your reactions â€ïž
You're right - I truly believe that Pink Floyd will still be listened to a hundred years from now. Not routinely for most, but they will be studied in music classes and held up as the premier example of prog rock, and the amazingly creative period of music that was the 60's - 80's, and there will still be those who light one up while drifting away on some PF. People still listen to Mozart - PF is my Mozart.
"Run Like HELL."
Can you imagine being there? I was. Left side about 6 rows up . I can't describe what it's like to be with 30,000 spellbound people.
Pink Floyd is amazing. Aren't they? My favorite band for 50 years now.
Winnipeg Manitoba Canada 1994... Me (62 years old now)..There...My wife had bought me tickets for Fathers Day that year. I have seen every major band you can name from Rolling Stones/Paul McCartney/Eric Clapton/Rammstein/Queen/AC/DC/ The Who/ Elton John etc and nothing compared to this experience. Thank you Pink Floyd for what you have given us over your career. The impact that your music has had on my life can not be put into words.

Hey You
Run Like Hell
You said it right : Goosebumps ⊠that is what I get every time I hear this guitarsolo , just out of this world !!
I was there 28 years ago. Still haven't got over it..best night of my life
The note he hits at 10:57 is the most beautiful note ever played in a live performance imo.
I was at The Division Bell Tour on May 29th 1994 when the were Columbus at the Horseshoe Stadium. It was absolutely perfect. Well worth it!!!
I was there :) The real highlight was the encore: They played the entire Dark Side Of The Moon with all the original screen footage in the 2nd half (special note goes to One of these days with double pigs and the plane crashing into the tower earlier in the concert)
I might also mention, for 2 days before the concerts (they sold out 4 nights there) there were 'warnings' of UFO's flying over London on Radio 1 (kudos to Simon Mayo) , and one the first night part of the seating scaffold collapsed on one side of the arena: David Gilmour personally went to the hospital to visit every fan who was injured.
I had forgotten that bit! Saw the Rotterdam gig, Earls Court had extra nights added, soome mates got tickets, but the van broke down, and they never got there!
To say that I'm jealous wouldn't even begin to describe how I feel. You are so lucky. I saw them in 1988 in Boston. Truly a life changing experience.
New Orleans version, life changing
Me too! Best concert of my life... it was my mum's first ever rock concert, ruiend for ever!! :)
I am truly blessed!!! I got to see them live in concert. TWICE!!!!!!
Back in O.C. Calif when I was 30 my wife heard a commercial on the radio about a P.F. show coming up. Knowing I am a Floyd fan she called the radio station (KMET - LA, âThe Mighty Metâ) to get information on the concert, The DJ on live radio Cynthia FoxâŠ. said...."Congratulations, YOU are caller number 10, YOU just won tickets to the show and the Sound Check Party before the show"...
I met David Gilmour back stage. He gave us both a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called himâŠâThe Master Of The Stratocasterâ He smiled. I told him his music will stand the test of time with anything from Beethoven or Mozart. He smiled even bigger. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said âSureâ and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied⊠âI strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release itââŠ. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know. . I told him in my eyes heâs a âLegendâ. He thanked me and said âEnjoy the showââŠ. during the concert after the song âMoneyâ he looked right at me and saidâŠ. âOn saxophone, another Legend, Mr. Raphael Ravenscroftâ ⊠acknowledging my comment to him. It is my favorite moment in over 300 shows Iâve seen.
I asked DavidâŠ. How do you create those awesome solos?⊠he saidâŠ.. I sit on a stool and listen to what Roger, Nick and Rick put down and play along. I listen to what I played and pick out what I like, then I put the pieces together into one piece then learn to play it as one. Our fans are fanatics for our shows to sound like the albums so I must play it correctly each time in a show. I have the concert Brochure and album on the wall with Davidâs picture centerfold.
All of us fortunate enough to have seen this show live were in a TRANCE.... MESMERIZED the entire show... as you can imagine. We walked out saying.... What did we just witness? That was out of this world incredible. The Red Fender Stratocaster he used for this concert in the Guitar Collector World is ....PRICELESS
I'm 27 and this is one of the best concerts! My dad showed it to me years ago on DVD and I'll never forget it!
I have seen Pink Floyd Live 4 times⊠I saw this same show in N.Y. 1994. The concert brochure said the stage is 120 feet wide. It takes a crew of 60 technicians three days to set up the entire lights and all. The concert schedule required that there had to be three entire crews to keep up. They leap froged each other for 92 shows with 20 Trucks per crew and a total staff of 195. The tour cost the promoters $98.MILLION to put on, but the total profit was $260 MILLION. Nick Masonâs drumming is incredible and matches Gilmourâs guitar emotions while Richard Wright takes us on a Magic Carpet Ride of tones that form the foundation of it all.
This track gets me every time. I'm 64 now, and the tears still well up in my eyes as I'm transported into another world by the sheer soulfulness of the guitar solo. Thanks for your reaction, it sounds like another Floyd fan has been born.
Me too, and I am not 64 until next monthđź
Just turned 64 and same for me
61 brother! Right there with you!! That live version beats ALL OTHERS!
I'm 64 as well...saw PF in 75 and 77 and Roger Waters solo a couple times too. When I get to heaven I'll book Yes, Emerson, Lake, and Palmer and Pink Floyd for my first concert show.
I'm with you.
Saw them twice bro. The first time they had started playing Shine on You Crazy Diamond and I was running up the stairs to enter the indoor arena and was greeted by whie light and "smoke". I thought I had died and was in heaven about to meet the Maker. Six years later, saw them again on the Pulse tour. Then, in 2017, I got to meet him and his wife in person and express my gratitude.
Been listening to Pink Floyd for 50 years and it never gets old or dull. I would recommend listening to the sorrow also from the pulse show.
My HS graduating class of '79 voted "Another Brick In The Wall" and "Comfortably Numb" as our favorites. I'm almost 62 now and nothing has changed. What an iconic rendition.
The closest one can get to a glimpse of what heaven on earth is like.
I was lucky enough to be at this and another 6 concerts of pink Floyd in the 80's 90's and 00's
The FIRST GIG I ever went to was Pink Floyd at Wembley Stadium.
I was lucky enough to win tickets for Live8 so saw the last performance when they reunited with Roger
So wonderful to relive here
Lucky ainât the word lol
The greatest guitar solo in the history of Rock and maybe in history period.
I took my oldest kid, he was 17, to see this show in Columbus Ohio. UnbelievableâŠ..
Perfect sound at Ohio Stadium. Canât express it âŠ..
28th row center âŠ. Too much to take inâŠâŠâŠ best Iâve ever seen
Great reaction. Thanks. I'm listening to Pink Floyd since I was 13. In all these 45 years I never managed to figure out to explain, what is happening to me. During and after the songs. I stopped working on that. I just accepted. Pink Floyd....goosebumbs everywhere, tears and the urgent wish, to make this world a better place....from up in the clouds, where I'm living during these songs. And I don't care, if this makes any sense
I saw this in 1994 in Atlanta - not only the best concert I've ever seen, but the best EVENT I've ever seen...
This is one of if not the best songs of all time. Every time I hear it itâs like the first time. Sheer amazement. Itâs like I can feel it in my soul my entire body buzzing
Greatest Guitar solo. I was so lucky to be there. Athereal, Spiritual Godlike.
I was there too, stage left about three rows up, I was out with the fairies most of the concert but THIS...................wow.
Every time I see Richard Wright again, I start sobbing. What memories and what a loss đ
Yes! It looks like Pink Floyd probably brought you here to a place close to your soul, where you are at the same time connected to the rest. It must be something like that, but I can't really describe it well. You say âimagine if you were there!â, I was there in 1989 in a huge park in the Netherlands. The stage was so immense, I couldn't recognize the artists, they were so far away, but you saw everything, the stage was as big as an apartment building, the lightshow, my god!, lasers etc. combined with the music ⊠and there were speakers on the corners of the park, the sound came from everywhere⊠When that huge disco ball opened it was like the heavens opened or something, unforgettable, and then that guitar solo that I didn't want to end, and none of the audience, really fantastic that this music has survived all time, analysis is not at all necessary, it touches you and you experience it.
That day of that concert in 1989 was in the summer and it was a beautiful summer day and so we all stood outside, what a sound... around sunset Pink Floyd started with âShine on you crazy diamondâ that was really magical.
i was lucky to be there that night ! earls court london uk 1994 so emotional even more than my wedding day . that guitar solo incredible best ever david gilmore is a legend as are pink floyd are british legends ,
The man is speechless đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł yep that's Pink Floyd for you alright, there are no words to describe it. Oh maybe one word "PERFECTION"
I'm 69, the Floyd is who I pray to, my therapist. My first concert Jimi in 70, Norman Oklahoma
It's amazing to watch a person listen to a band that has been your absolute favorite for over forty years! And no one over the years has been able to move them from this place!!! "Shine on you crazy diamond" - for me, an absolute explosion of the brain and the most favorite song.
You wasn't ready? No one is, but when you have just hear the greatest guitar solo ever recorded, you end up going back again and again.
Thanks for your response.
The last couple times my husband went under general anesthesia. He asked to listen to and see this video. He said it's the only song you should listen to when you go under.
The ability to control that scale of lighting equipment of that size to that degree is a real art and a real science
I was right there in 94, I saw it all. My father had taken me with him. I was 12 years old and it was insane. It changed my life. And welcome to the Wordl of Pink Floyd
With a band like Pink Floyd that sounds this good live you can't go wrong a live performance. I've seen them live a few times and every time they sounded this good. Delicate Sound of Thunder is another great concert video that is well worth a listen.
Saw this show 2x in 1994.
North Carolina & New Jersey.
Different songs each show, but both had Comfortably Numb.
Was an amazing experience that I still remember vividly today- 28 years later.
The 70s were a mind expanding time for those who were seekers. My daughter has instructions to have their music on for me as I leave this world. I have a terminal disease. Hey...no one gets out alive.â€. Your reaction was beautiful.
i saw this tour in 94 in Mexico City... Since then i've seen countless of great bands and great shows in different parts of the world...But i've never seen a single one that reaches that level of perfection that Pulse tour did
David Gilmour knows the perfect note to hit at the perfect time. Genius level GOAT
I was blessed to be there with my then teenage children. Lifetime Pink Floyd fanatics now.
The whole stadium was part of the light show and the sound was pristine, like having studio headphones on. Killer
Best guitar solo ever played on this planet! For more Pink Floyd live at âPulseâ: I recommend âHigh Hopesâ, âKeep Talkingâ and âShine on you crazy diamondâ!
Can I imagine being there? I can remember being there. Four times. And every one was the best live show I'd ever seen. Dark side of the moon was perhaps the single greatest performance I have ever seen. And I was fortunate enough to see hundreds of live shows. Everybody who was anybody...
He says.. "can you imagine being there?" Well I was there on July 30th 1994. It was the Division Bell tour which is basically the same set as the Pulses tour. I was 29 years old. My favorite song of all time is comfortably numb and was waiting for them to play but they did not. Show was over...until they come out for the entire and CN was the second song.. I will never forget...we had some of the best weed to this day would be hard to compete with. 100 a quarter in Chicago was a lot for weed. It was such a bright green that we called it moss. We were stoned and had just started to drizzle. So here I am, stoned, listening to my all time favorite song and watching the rain drops reflect the light of that crazy circle thing that would come down and hover over David as he rocked that guitar...I was comfortably numb after that performance. This video is almost identical to how I remember it...incredible!
Numb doesn't even close the show. You wouldn't think anything could top that, but then they launch into Run Like Hell and it's every bit the equal to Numb.
FTB By the look on your face. Yep pink Floyd did it again. They blow your mind. Just like mine and many others. From UK đŹđ§đđ b Safe take care. PEACE âźïž
I was at the Pulse show in Dallas on April 29th, 1994 which was my 34th birthday. Greatest birthday EVER!
not forgetting the beautiful Sam Brown on vocals with David Gilmour. the guitar speaks alone.
Every guitar wants David Gilmour for Christmas.
You just witnessed one of the greatest guitar solos of all time! I was fortunate enough to see them live on this tour. Absolutely incredible. He has a touching your soul with his guitar, so emotional without saying a word. I have been binge watching your channel today. You have a new subscriber. Thank you for your reactions.
One of the Greatest Rock Performances ever, possibly the GOAT Rock guitar solo too!
Certainly, with all the lasers, incredible light show, phenomenal musicianship and the level of production here, and everything else is off the charts!
It sounds Sooo good and it's 1994, no Autotune or computers or any crutch of any kind, they did it all right in front of you!
Just a note: There are only 3 actual members of Pink Floyd here onstage, in fact there were only 3 members of PF from 1985, (when Roger Waters quit the band) up until 2008 when Rick Wright died from Cancer.
It's easy to tell which ones they are, they're the 3 old guys, lol,... David Gilmour, (guitar), Rick Wright, (keyboards, and Nick Mason, (drums). The other musicians onstage are Pink Floyds' touring band for that time or that tour'.
Pink Floyd was formed in London in 1964, so this Pulse Concert is 30 years later, so PF guys are all in their late 40s and early 50s.
Check out "Sorrow" from the same 1994 Pulse Concert, another great guitar solo from David Gilmour. There are so many from that Pulse Concert on CZcams and they're all unbelievably great, like "High Hopes", "Money", "Learning to Fly", and many more.
I said to my girlfriend: âyouâre listening to the second best guitar solo ever â. She asks âwhatâs the best solo?â I looked at her with tears in my eyes and said âitâs going to start in about a minuteâ
From the same PULSE CONCERT, check out SORROW and also RUN LIKE HELL (for Run Like Hell, be sure to fasten your seat belt).
You've got the really BEST COMMENTS I've ever heard about this song when you affirm that the first part of the bridge is quietly sad and then, the harmonies go up & we can feel and see the open window and the full Sun which is comin'in ! That cannot be said any better ! Congratulations for U and this is what I call The Ultimate Band of All Time !!!
Robert Girard
Montreal
David Gilmore channels the music through his guitar! Spectacular!
It was some concert. They played some 14 nights selling out that venue. Not every gig was the same set list. The Pulse video transports me back, so easily. Almost 4 hours of the best music ever created, with a fantastic light show. Immaculate. Too many great songs. The video as a whole is made up from across the 14 shows. Try âGreat Gig In The Skyâ, âShine On You Crazy Diamondâ, âLearning To Flyâ. So many to choose from
One thing I never see get any credit is the lighting Pink Floyd uses. It reinforces the music so much. Just like with this song, it makes you feel like you're falling into the madness yourself. Many bands are considered timeless, but Pink Floyd transcends them all.
I think the video doesnât give the light show itâs due diligence and credit. Some experiences are best live, but Iâll happily take what I can get from Pinkfloyd. #PinkFloyd.
Saw them 3 times in Dallas. In fact all 4 of my children can claim Pink Floyd as their 1st concert. I first heard them in 1973, over 3 miles deep inthe Adirondack mountains of New York.
I was there and what an experience it was. Something you never forget.
It truly doesn't get better than Pink Floyd. My day doesn't feel right if I don't listen to some Pink Floyd. I'm so glad you found them, it only gets better from here. Doesn't sound possible but you'll see. đđâđœ
I listen to them daily. Keep waiting to get tired of them, but it hasnât happened in 40+ years!
What I love most about this video is the shots showing the crowd and theyâre all just hypnotized lol
Great reaction thanks for sharing this awesome track, Pink Floyd is in a league of their own!!
This is, by far, one of the greatest guitar solos I've ever heard. So powerful and passionate.
Saw these guys 2 nights in a row in Oakland on this tour. AWESOME. Dude just comes out in a simple tee shirt & I swear that almost every video I've ever seen him in....he's NOT flashy about it. The man leaves the 'stank-face' at home & you might catch a slight smile or something....but he lets the guitar do ALL the talkin'. He looks almost bored....LOL.
I could have been at that show (in Oakland) but didn't go, like an idiot.
I got to see them live on this tour - not this performance, but earlier in the tour. And I am "Convinced" that the crew behind the show is as important as the band. There are 11 people on the stage....There are at least 30 people involved in the sound/lighting for this production....
Yes I can imagine being there. I was at this one and 12 others in the US in 1994. 30 years ago today I was watching this in Mexico!! The that makes 14 total!!
âGoosebumpsâ
Yep⊠my dude gets it. â€
Best concerts ever! I was lucky enough to see Pink Floyd a couple of times, including this tour.
Lucky to be alive while Pink Floyd was touring.
Glad you found Floyd!!
Got to see 2 Pulse shows. One outdoors in the rain. Lasers were epic. Glad you all get to see this epic Pulse concert. Those of us who attended are reliving time thru your reactions. Its awesome.
New Orleans Superdome May 1994, greatest show ever
I was there. My wife's 1st concert! It was amazing!
You should have been at the concert, after the three hour concert, I couldn't talk, see, or talk, it was a system overload, they woke up all my senses. There were 18 semi tractor trailers of just generators because they went through more electricity during the concert than the city that hosted the concert did in an entire day.
Iâve been to about 10 pink Floyd concerts over the past 30 years and they are like out of body experiences
Once you hear their music, youâre an instant fan!
I was there 1988 Oakland coulisium California . best show I ever saw.number 2 prince purple rain.3 earth wind and fire then Phil Collins next Van Halen then the eagles
Itâs quite possible the greatest live guitar solo in history. If you want to hear more pink floyd, I recommend The Dark Side of the Moon and listen to the album from start to finish. Itâs ranked in my top 3 albums ever made but itâs best to listen to the whole album from start to finish.
Dark side of the moon isnât just music, itâs an experience that takes you on a journey from life through to death.
The emotions and chills throughout my body on that last guitar solo are overwhelming!! Bravo!!
I was there..well not there but at the Feyenoord Stadium Rotterdam (during their tour). Imagine yourself being there, with the glitter ball in the middle of the pitch illuminating the whole stadium. And....with quadrophonic sound. What a joy to witness. A fantastic experience. (Seen Pink Floyd multiple times and after that David Gilmour solo). There are some great cover bands, check them for perhaps some gigs over at your place.
Pulse IMHO is the greatest live (Rock) concert of all time
