Right? I didn’t connect the dots at first even though I saw the same red lights. Imagine if Ellie found out where Abby was and they ended up having to fight Rat King together.

That's what I love about this type of game play where you can approach each section differently and eventually master it to the point where you feel like a director. It makes for good content and replay value.

@@cheesesteakphilly exactly, literally the gameplay for TLOU and TLOU2 is the same but in TLOU2 the infected are buffed and you can dodge and go prone, which NGL I only enjoy while playing as Ellie bc of her knife

Im currently on my second play through of the game, and people can say what they want about some story choices…..but my god the amount of detail and fun gameplay in this game is ridiculously good!
something cool the could’ve done is let you choose between abby & ellie and different endings accordingly… but i don’t complain, still a sick ass game

I loved the story personally. I mean Joel's death was written on the wall before the game was even released. His arc was pretty definitively completed in the first game. It started with him broken following the death of his daughter and losing his humanity in the midst of the outbreak. By the end he has filled the void Sarah left behind through his bond with Ellie and goes to the same lengths to protect her that he would have for his own blood. He has rediscovered his humanity and is no longer broken. There was no where left to go with him.
But if the aim of part 2 was to help us empathise and understand the perspectives of those we are supposed to hate, then it did its job for me. I was totally on-board with abbie by the end and just wanted her and Ellie both to end the violence and walk away rather than perpetuate the cycle. They weren't exactly subtle about the fact that abbie was now Joel and had formed bond with lev in order to find redemption and rediscover the humanity they'd lost, mu h like Joel did through Ellie in the first game. They even had Lev wear converse in the third act like Ellie just to make it even more obvious.

I do not regret even a bit from buying this game, it was one of my biggest nice things that ever happened to me, i also preffer it than TLoU Part 1, Resident Evil VII and Resident Evil Village. Haters could hate, but it's just my feeling about it

On top of them being highly praised in comparison to TLOU2. Agreed that it’s a very fun game.
You shouldn't regret anything. It was game of the year, the most negative assholes are the loudest ones. I think it's more fun than Part 1, and if you take the story as a whole it's just one amazing experience.

This game caught so much hate yet I think the writing was genius and very unique as opposed to the typical cliche hero story

The first time I played through this and tried the door with the rat king, I immediately went into listen mode after that and became utterly horrified for the next half hour before he would actually appear

It's kinda weird that there is so many stalkers in an area that hasn't been touched for two decades. I think the hospital should have been full of bloaters.
I guess you just sort of suspend disbelief for the sake of gameplay. I always wonder why shamblers and bloaters can see you when they should be blind from the clicker phase, but oh well.
the note in the hotel explains that some of the hospital infected escaped into the hotel that fedra was trying to blow up, we didnt see every floor of that hotel so they might be more than 1 bloater. there is definitely a ton of clickers and stalkers though
Maybe some infected evolve at distinct paces. While some evolve to clicker, other would still be stuck as stalker

First time I played The Last of Us Part II I wasn't paying attention before reaching the hospital, I had like 2 seconds worth of flamethrower ammo, few pistol bullets and nothing else. You can imagine my reaction when I hit the basement realizing I'm fucked. I know there's ammo all over the place to grab but playing first time I shat my pants and I couldn't kill the rat king so I took a break (2 years) and when Remastered came out, I thought I will try again and finally killed him last week (Feb 2024). But this time I paid attention very early in the game, upgrading my weapons and looking for special ammo upgrades so this time when I hit the basement I had 100 units of flamethrower ammo, special explosive shotgun and pistol ammo, pipe bombs and other guns. When you have so many ammo and upgraded too this boss is really not that hard to beat but of course I was playing on Normal difficulty. It just took 4 pipe bombs straight away and flamethrower to load the first sequence when the little guy de-attaches and then all you have to do is to run around, pick your moments and use special ammo, I think I used 4 shots of shotgun and some flamethrower ammo too and that was it. But man, if you're playing this game not paying attention, not upgrading your ammo you will struggle a lot because playing Abby there are sections in this game when you need to have pipe bombs for example as that will just make things easier, otherwise prepare to get creative. Anyway, I'm happy I can continue with the story and finish the game but I really struggled to beat this guy the first time. If you're reading this thinking how you will beat him here's a guide: upgrade your weapons very early in the game as much as you can before reaching hospital (especially special ammo recipes), have at least 4 pipe bombs, make sure you will find the flamethrower just before reaching the hospital and save the ammo on it. Other than that you just need to be able to run, and get him from distance. That basement section is actually big so there's a lot of space. Good luck!

I completed the game on survivor mode this weekend and for me this was the hardest part. Fucking did my head in, so many attempts with minimal supplies.. I don’t want to play this part ever again even on easy mode! It totally did my head in but you make it look easy 🤪

On my Grounded+ playthrough, since I knew this was coming, I conserved supplies for so long that I was full on pipe bombs and flamethrower fuel, and that still wasn’t all I needed to kill it
