As you heard, I just love making bows. And today's video shows you how to make a large bow using 2.5" wired ribbon. No fancy bow making tools required, just your crafting tools and your hands.
MATERIALS USED:
2.5" Wired ribbon in checkered pattern - Michael's
2.5" Wired ribbon in stripped pattern - Michael's
Cable tie - Dollar Tree
Twine - Dollar Tree

CUT LENGTHS:
Ribbon #1 - 4 @ 24" lengths
Ribbon #2 - 5 @ 24" lengths

Don’t apologize for fluffing bows, they have to be fluffed to look their best. I hate when bows are flat. They’re the star of the gift package or wall decor. This black and brown combination is so rich and classy looking, love it!
It makes me crazy at Christmas when businesses, cities, and residents put out their decorations with smashed bows. You can tell they just got it out of storage and threw it up there! Wouldn’t take the 2 extra minutes it would take to fluff the bows to make a huge different in the way it looks. SMH.

I love your video BUT I Need to use just regular ribbon (2023) can I use a dab of craft glue to hold it in place? Any other suggestions?
Yes, you can do that. I have used hot glue in the past to hold ribbons together. It's done a good job, but always do a testing piece first...just to make sure it works on the ribbon you have. 😊
Hi love all your videos & you! I have a quick ? - so for this bow I am trying to use up some ribbon that I made a ribbon wreath with - I have 3 different 24" pcs & 3 matching pieces of 24" ribbon, can this be done with 6 ribbons instead of 9? hope this makes sense!
Hi Jean, thank you so so much for those kind words. Yes, you can totally do this with 6 pieces of ribbon, that is totally fine. The bow will be a tad smaller with only 6 loops, but it'll still be gorgeous. Have fun bow making. 😊😊😊
I can’t get mine to look this good :( when going between your peace fingers are you stacking them on top of each other in a line or randomly placing them??
Hi there, for me, I usually have them randomly placed rather than in a line. It's easier to move them around between your fingers than after you tie it all together. Hope that helps you out. Thanks.
Question- do the ribbons have to be the same width when you're making a bow or making a wreath?
Hi there, I generally use 2.5" wired ribbon for my bows and wreaths. You can also use 1.5" or 4" ribbon as well, if you wish to use different sized ribbons. Thank you. 😊

as you know I am probably your biggest fan I love everything you do and I love this style of bow...... and of course you make it look so easy and simple but ......... I have only one question ...... Why the heck is making this style bow and it turning out right impossible for me ???? Please please help your American friend figure out just what I am doing wrong ......😢😢😢
Hi Debra, yes indeed!!! I'm sorry you're having issues making bows. Trust me, so did I in the beginning of my crafting adventures. I was all left thumbs....lol. Two things that helped me.....time and practice. I know that sounds a bit lame, but it truly helped me. I took my time, like just totally slowed down and thought about each step and didn't rush anything and I did it over and over and over again. Then one day, it just came to me, and it will come to you as well. I'll send you some positive bow making vibes and hopefully that will help too. Take care and don't get frustrated...keep smiling...crafting is fun. teehee. :)
