I have a partial like this right now. I'm having implant surgery and during the process I'm wearing this because my bone grafts have to heal for months before they can set the actual implants, then I'll have to heal again for at least another 3 months. So I'm having all this done at the University of Buffalo Dental school. I paid 400 for this partial. It works well but most dentists aren't going to like their patients to have this as a permanent solution. My ex husband is a dentist and I was a dental assistant. In my opinion, it isn't great for their bottom line. If you need dental work the dental schools do quality work very reasonably priced. My implants are being done by graduates that are working on their specialties. I hope this info helps anyone that needs care.

Brucifer Mephistopheles 5 yrs ago dentist did a partial on lower back teeth for 1 missing tooth, had to file down 2 good teeth for the placement. Now 5 yrs later having to have this $1500 partial removed and getting another tooth pulled because the dentist didn’t take a good fit, leaving some tooth underneath exposed. Uh so I suggest this compared to the permanent bridge.

I'm very excited about having this procedure. I had no idea this option existed. My former dentist never advised me of a flexible partial. I'm replacing two teeth near the incisors. My prior dentist had me going to all these specialists. I consulted another dentist and flexible partial is highly recommended for me. Upon my research these partials are very comfortable which was a major concern of mine. According to my dentist this partial will also prevent tooth shifting. Glad I got a second opinion! This video was very helpful but the back round music was annoying.

I am just starting partial plates AGAIN: I had massive problems in my high school years and was in partial plates before I was 20. Unfortunately, the partial plates waaaayy back then were soooo bad, I ended up throwing them away in my early 20s and have just managed without them somehow. Now I have a lot of deterioration on my remaining teeth because of all the extra work they had to do and my dentist is saying time for partial plates and I only have really bad memories of those years so I have been avoiding my dentist again. Your videos have given me some NEW HOPE for a good outcome……Thank you so much!!!

Valplast partials are great in appropriate cases and patients tolerate them quite well. Repairing them and adding teeth to them (in case of additional extractions post insertion) are more difficult than with regular acrylic based partials.

These abominations can wreck all of your remaining teeth. They cover up pretty well all of the remaining gum margins potentially causing untold damage. Lowers are the worst as these just ‘sink’ over time. The damage is slow and insidious. I don’t know of a single University Dental School in the U.K. who uses them.

My question is does it bubble at the bottom close to the jaw
    Can U make it flush
I have very thin skin around that area and upon wearing something like this my fear is it will be noticeable when I put it on from looking at me and I understand there are other designs that don't have it at front under teeth however it is my dear for top and bottom all around regardless of design if the pink can be made to sit flush with teeth jaw line and not bubble along edge (not sharp either but more flush as to not be noticeable upon external visual)

This is great! was only saying to a friend not that long ago it's a wonder they haven't thought of making dentures more flexible and softer to wear.. and Voila! here I found it. Now all we need is a less archaic way of taking the impression. It isn't a pleasant procedure and it makes you want to gag and you have to stay still while all you can think of is not swallowing while that gunk is setting in your mouth.

This is wonderful! I have a very high upper arch and am a singer. I just had to have a tooth pulled near my front tooth and I asked for a temporary flipper until I can get the full partial(which would replace that pulled tooth plus some back molars that have already been gone). I can't stand the old fashioned hard plastic partials. I spent like $2k on a lower one and don't even use it. I would NEVER be able to tolerate an upper one. I need this nylon based one(is Valplast the same)?

@@sl4983 Well the flipper they gave me is way too hard to put in and take out since the space is really tight where the tooth used to be. I tried filing it down and cutting part of it off myself. The dentists won’t give you a very small piece for liability reasons I guess. You know, if it’s too small you could choke on it. I am trying to make my own from that moldable tooth stuff. I keep hearing I’m not a candidate for Valplast because of how many teeth I have missing or some BS like that.

I only have the front 6 teeth on my lower jaw and am unable to chew food effectively. I have been told that I am not a candidate for a lower denture plate due to tori on both sides of the inside of my lower jaw directly behind the front teeth. Dentists have advised that there is no way to mold a bottom plate unless I get the tori shaved down which is not an option with DentiCal. Would something like this flexible partial be an option for me? And if so, is there a dentist in Northern California that makes these? Thank you for you time.

As my opinion, more flexible the material is, less retention it can be, especially in distal free end case, which means that the sticky food will pull the distal free end side away while opening the mouth. Moreover, the flexibility changes the direction of the occlusion force from vertical onto the removable denture teeth to lateral over the natural teeth aside from the missing teeth area, and we all know the lateral direction force jeopardizes the periodontal tissue around the tooth. I think this kind of prosthesis is suitable for the "missing anterior teeth case" and just for the esthetic consideration, not for the function, especially for the distal free end case.
